You guys do realize that the international posters are created at Disney Studios in Burbank by the exact same people that created the domestic key art, right? Theyโ€™re just appealing to different geographic and psychographic audiences, communities, and sensibilities.

That trailer was a bit more clumsily put together, I agree. Not as much emphasize on the song at the end of it like the others (the other two had a beat of silence before it would begin, making it stand out more). I did love the shot of SW with the tree. That's the first CGI I've liked so far--the Magic Mirror face and the Dwarfs look rough, but about as bad as Stitch, the CGI animals from Maleficent, etc. Par for the course with these.

I like the international poster better just because she's focused on the apple. I don't get how you could think she looks smug on the American poster though. To me, she looks lost like she doesn't know where she is or what's happening there.

Them trying so hard to evoke the animated film in their marketing after spending so long trashing it is just so ...

For their purposes, it is only live-action that is life.

I like the new standees and how the dwarfs are essentially carrying them. As for the new spots, I like the first one with more footage of the dwarfs. The transition from animation to live action in the second spot was good, but also a little contrived.

I forgot you didn't like OSC. It's one of my favorites from the Broadway show.

I agree that the music isn't like the original SW's music, but I like it for what it is (and of course I do prefer the Broadway sound in general). I like a lot of things I've seen though. Probably my least favorite is the changes to the Prince. And I hope (and expect) SDMPWC will still be in the film. It still sucks that One Song probably isn't there.

I read that they mostly do those remakes to protect the copyright of their OG movies once the rights run out, which actually makes sense, especially with something like SW that pushes 100 years where the remake aims to be really close to the original, atleast only visually
...but then u remember they instantly remade Moana... :what:

remakes don't even extend the copyright on the original, It creates a new copyright on the remake.

I am curious about the story they added, which we saw in the earlier trailers where SW is returning to the kingdom and reclaim the land, but also the scene I see now where SW is in front of the mirror and it appears the mirror is breaking in pieces.

Disney is trying really hard to make it look like the remake is super faithful to the original. Just look at this newest TV spot they released.

I could tell they were doing that to make up for all the initial controversy that they might have cut the Dwarfs. They're trying to reverse damage and, who knows, if those projections end up being true, maybe it'll work. At least it shows they do know the public prefers the remakes to be fairly faithful in look/design, which is a good sign for the remakes in the near future anyway. Of course, there'll be backlash afterwards if several songs are missing, plus the "take back the kingdom" stuff if they do it poorly (which I'd bet is more likely than them doing the story gracefully*), but they'll have succeeded in fuping enough people to see the film.

Actually, it reminds me of what I thought would happen with Mulan as far as them making the remake *appear* faithful in commercials despite those following the film knowing how much they changed and for no reason. And they'd have got away with it, too ( ), but the pandemic ensured the film would flop regardless. The inevitable bad reviews angry over all the changes put the nail in the coffin of what could've been a potential franchise.

* Then again, Ariel driving the ship at the end sounded really, really dumb on paper, but it wasn't that terrible once I'd seen it. I just imagined they'd have her climbing the side of the ship just like Eric does in the original. Still, I'd prefer they'd have Ariel defeat Ursula in a better way than that.
