Hey guys! I got the opportunity to sample 4 songs frm frozen. Heres what I can share. The hans n anna songs kinda resemble a song frm hairspray. It sounds very modern with silly dance aroumd n sweeping cameras. Let it go was sung by else as she transforms, the scene looks great tho I dont get the fascination with sweeping camera shots. The kristoff song is kinda bland and olafs song is a bit like poohs everythongs honey song. All in all not ur typical disney essence songs. But I hope it soumds better with full orchestration. Personally I prefer tangled's songs. The hans n anna duet is kinda cheesy. That is all

How did you get to hear any sample from those 4 songs??akhenaten wrote:Hey guys! I got the opportunity to sample 4 songs frm frozen. Heres what I can share. It's nice that they do change a little from the usual Disney essence when it comes to the songwriting.
Don't worry once the orchestrations come in, I'm sure it will sound much better.
EDIT: If anyone doesn't know who is doing the orchestrations for the songs, it will be Dave Metzger who had done orchestrations for countless Disney movies.

How many of you guys want to bet that Disney will pull a 'kill off Ray' move on Olaf? I mean, remember how we thought Ray was going to be the worst character in Princess and the Frog, only to be the most lovable character in said film but ended up biting the big one?

I cant reveal my sources as im bound by contract. Im not familiar with book of mormon or any other lopezs work so I can only compare it to without love frm hairspray. Im not liking the art direction for in summer. Its too plain. But if anyone remember the sassy walk elsa does in the french trailer, thats frm let it go.

Did you like Let It Go, the Hans/Anna song, and In Summer though? I just told my mom that the songs are supposed to be great and that'd be awk if the songs were actually badakhenaten wrote:I cant reveal my sources as im bound by contract. Nor liking the style that I heard so far. It doesnt help that the visual n actions dont really complement the songs. But then again theyre just snippets. The duet might grow on me despite its puppy love mood.

Well, as someone who has seen Book of Mormon (and listened to about half of the music in Avenue Q), I wouldn't compare those songs to the ones in Hairspray, unless I were to say that both musicals have a lot of exaggerated showtunes that probably would sound out of place in a Disney movie. The only song that I remember in Book of Mormon that I could say is "Disneyesque" (aka "Alan Menken-esque") is "Sal Tlay Ka Siti" which is a very obvious parody of Disney Princess "I Want" songs.akhenaten wrote:I cant reveal my sources as im bound by contract. He does a lot of stereotypical Broadway-showtune stuff but his lyrical work seems to be where he really shines.
I dunno, I think it's great that Disney is expanding their horizons when it comes to music. Let it Go was gorgeous from what I've heard.
Transformation sequences aren't restricted to one movie. See: every single Magical Girl anime (like Sailor Moon, Pretty Cure, Madoka Magica), many Superhero films, Shrek (which, now that I think about it, was probably a reverse-parody of Cinderella. Huh. I never thought of that. That's actually pretty smart there Dreamworks).WonderNeverOz wrote:

Is the first link spoiler free? (I'm almost sure it's not but you never know)
Regarding the preview, I don't live in USA so I don't think I'll be able to watch tomorrow
I guess someone will record it or it will appear in Disney's website, or youtube channel...
