Ooooh... Never saw this thread before! Now one or two of my choices may seem a little weird but anyway:
1) Cybill - I know many of you won't have seen or even remember this sitcom, but I absolutely LOVE it. It really is hilarious and so underrated! The first 2 seasons have been released on DVD in the UK and I bought them online (very unusual for a US TV show to be released in the UK first as well!!)It's just a show that appeals to me 100%, but I'm not even sure why, I think it might just have the right feel to it. I could watch it all day!
So there's my First Place sitcom out of the way - Choosing no. 2 gets tricky... But I think it's a tie between...
2) Will & Grace and Bewitched. Both great sitcoms from completely different times. I recently completed my Will & Grace DVD collection and I'm buying Bewitched as it becomes available.
3) The Golden Girls - Apparently quite a popular choice here, but I have to agree wholeheartedly, the show is great!!!
There's my top 4 - couldn't choose no. 5 if I tried, it's so hard to pick favourites!!!!!!

1. Friends
2.Spongebob Squarepants. The first season actually. The later episodes were more family-friendly so more boring. Pitty.
3.Bewitched
4.The Nanny
5.Married with Children
6. Happy tree friends (a mini-show, but definately a comedy, even though it's a splatter. Recommended to all Care Bears' haters!
)
7.Sabrina The Teenage Witch
And many greek sitcoms/ tv comedies which I think is pointless to include. But I'll give 2 links to "Gorgones"' (opening and trailer) just because I'm a huge fan of this year's funny and naive mermaid comedy:

Thanks, haha, I thought it'd be easier just to do a 13, maybe 14 second search and bump an existing thread on sitcoms instead of starting a new one. And as for where I've been, I dunno, I lost interest in disney a bit (I still can't believe I haven't even picked up the Peter Pan PlatinumSimba3 wrote:Good bump, and where the heck have you been Josh??

I'm gonna add 'That 70's Show' to my sitcom list. I was in Target the other day and they were on sale, TV on DVD is all I want for Christmas, hahahaha. Oh and dramadies too, I know they're similar to Sitcoms, but they develop continuity between episodes, like Ugly Betty and Entourage.
Oh yeah, add My Name is Earl and How I met your mother to my sitcoms list, I always forget the new ones.
P.S. What is 30 Rock (all I know is it's Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin...I saw a trailer for it last night on Aussie TV) and Freaks and Geeks? Are they good?

Hmm a top ten sitcom list eh? Let's see...
10. The Nanny - This show seems to get a lot of hate from people, and I don't really understand it. Was it innovative? Not really, but the characters made up for the lack luster stories.
9. Ellen - An acquired taste of mine. After a while you really start to notice how funny it truly is.
8. Are You Being Served? - Brilliant British comedy. If you've never seen it you absolutley must (though I'd avoid the movie).
7. Friends - When an episode you've seen a million times before can still make you laugh out loud you know something was done right.
6. The Golden Girls - Betty White is like my favourite little old lady ever.
5. South Park - South Park is probably my favourite show when it comes to watching an episode for a first time, but it doesn't hold up that great upon repeat viewings. Still pretty effin hilarious though.
4. Will & Grace - Should have been called Jack and Karen, but still. Great cast, great characters, great stories, great all round show.
3. Roseanne - It's like my family, only funnier. I love it because it's so relatable.
2. Arrested Development - Quite possibly the funniest tv show I've ever seen. I can't believe I didn't watch this show when it was originally airing. Thank God for syndication.
1. The Simpsons - Yes, even the newer seasons. I just absolutely love everything about this show.

Famous Jewish woman with nasal voice has hit sitcom and defends gay people in several episodes. I can't think of a single reason why that would bother people at all.Widdi wrote:10. I was watching 20/20 the other day, there was this girl who killed herself because of myspace. She was being taunted and abused by another user, who turned out to be her friend with a fake account made (just to see if she was talking about her beind her back).Josh Maverick Simmons, haha! wrote:I became an obsessive myspacer and well, let's just say myspace and teenagers don't mix wellSo I deleted it.
But anyway, I'm glad you're off the myspace bandwagon, it's a horrid site (facebook is better!). Start posting more at UD! We need more Aussie presence since James isn't around that much and Loomis often restricts himself to the Theme Park forum!
I was always bothered by the annoying way she'd say, "Mr. Sheffield!". But that's just me.Lazario wrote:Famous Jewish woman with nasal voice has hit sitcom and defends gay people in several episodes. (kidding, of course. I love "The Nanny" and I'm pissed at Lifetime for airing it at 2 am, and at Sony for not yet releasing the rest of the seasons on DVD.)

Some favourite American sitcoms:
- All in the family
- The Cosby Show
- Family ties
- Mork & Mindi
- Cheers
- Frasier
- Everybody loves Raymond
- Golden Girls
- Dharma & Greg
- Perfect Strangers
- Will & Grace
- Empty nest
- Roseanne
- Growing pains
- I love Lucy
- Green Acres
Several Brits:
- The Good life
- Keeping up appearances
- Man about the house
- George & Mildred
- Porridge
- Falty towers (although it only has 12 episodes!)
- One foot in the grave
- My Family
- Me & my girl
- All creatures great and small: the last one is not really a sitcom, but I think there's much delightful humor in this series about a vet's practice. Predominently from the brothers Siegfried and Tristan, but also from Mrs. Pumphries and her adored pet Tricky Whoo the pekinese!

My situation wasn't that bad...in fact my situation didn't involve any piece of bullying at all, poor girl.
I'll join facebook if there aren't any "Scene Trains" or "Whore Trains" driving through bulletin boards all the time. I got sick of opening a bulletin to see "Glamorous Death" or "Painful Perfection JOIN AND APPLY NOW!"
You probably have no idea what I'm talking about, bahahahahaha.
I think it's because of poor dvd sales. I saw seasons 1 & 2 new in a $10 discount bin. I might buy them, The Nanny is very nostalgiac to me, I watched it a lot as a kid...what happened in the final episode? I remember something about twins, a cruise and Fran and Mr. Sheffield were married.Escapay wrote:(kidding, of course. Is 'Just Shoot Me' avaliable on DVD?

Unfortunately she wasn't, I forget the reason why. It most likely had to do with the fact that it was over the internet.Josh Maverick Simmons wrote:Wow, how bad would the friend feel, could she be charged for manslaughter or Internet abuse or something?!
The worst you'll get is friends asking you to join groups like "Be a Ninja/Pirate/Zombie/Vampire/Sexaholic".Josh Maverick Simmons wrote:I'll join facebook if there aren't any "Scene Trains" or "Whore Trains" driving through bulletin boards all the time.

The final episode had them all moving out of the New York house, as Maxwell got hired to produce a sitcom in LA.
There's only been one DVD release for "Just Shoot Me", which combines the first and second seasons.
