How many Dvds does the avg person here have
R[APRIL.23]K: High School SweetheartsI have about 300 DVDs. Not sure how many DVD discs total as I have all 7 seasons of Buffy, plus Gargoyles, Punky Brewster, and In Living Color.
I do own Song of the South on DVD and yeah, its bootlegged. If Disney really was watchdogging this website like some of you think they do about bootlegs then they are watching the wrong place.
I got Song of the South and several other bootleg DVDs at Mega Con and Dragon Con. They are VERY public conventions open to anyone who has the money to spend to get in. About $15 a day. They last for 3 days normally. Mega Con is in Orlando....yes, home of Disney World and Dragon Con is in Atlanta Georgia spread out between two hotels its so big. Each of these conventions has anywhere from 5 to 12 or more booths that sell nothing BUT bootleg DVDs....And OMG....cops are walking around the conventions with all those bootlegs in PLAIN SIGHT!!! How is this possible?!?!
Maybe because they don't care as much as you think they do!!! The FBI knows about these conventions, so does every movie production company out there. They are more focused on stopping the downloading of NEW movies. 90% of the DVDs sold at these conventions are DVDs that aren't OFFICIALLY available. So currently, they aren't losing money. I bought Plague Dogs, Unico, Song of the South, and an unaired pilot of Buffy from there. I only buy bootlegs that aren't available anywhere. And then when they ARE officially available, I buy the real thing. The quality is ALWAYS better. But I pacify myself with the bootlegs till then. Should Song of the South REALLY be released by Disney to DVD, I'll buy it and toss the bootleg in the trash.
Its a rare event for these sellers at conventions and ebay as well to be busted. They can be. At any moment in time, but they aren't. So yes Disney, I own a BOOTLEG copy of Song of the South......Wow, I haven't been arrested. Fascinating, isn't it? If Disney will release the movie to DVD, they will get my money then, till then, I'll get them from Bob at Mega-Con. Thanks Bob

Holy Crap!!!!!!!!!!
Have ya seen the DVD collections thread? Ultimatefilmfan says he has over 4000 movies!
That's unbeliveable, he has pictures to prove it. (thread number 38 if you want to see it)
I am feeling quite ashamed of my meager 72 titles, but I already buy more than I should.
I see most my movies through netflix.
4000 movies borders on insane! Nice collection though. Wonder how much he has spent?

Wow, jeez in some places you could buy a house for that amount of money. Especially now since the real estate market is literally as slow as hell and the intrest rates are soon to rise. So buy buy buy now! lol I am not sure how many DVDs I have. I will count. I am going to count indivdual disks (Ex. Family Guy Vol 1 has 4 disks)
Okay, going to count now *runs upstairs*
I have exactly 290 DVDs. So not a whole lot, but for a kid (13) I am pretty proud.

Some one above has asked about DVD's being covered by insurance. The answer is only if you have a rider on your homewoner's policy or your renter's policy. If you have any collection of value, be it dolls, or DVD's, you should have that rider in case of some type of emergency. It doesn't cost very much at all, and a simple photograph of what you are adding to the insurance policy is all that is needed. However, if you, like I do, have your DVD's listed with DVDSpot or any other of the DVD listings, your insurance man will love you forever, because he can just go get a print out of your list and everything is covered.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
