No, you're right, every American Sleeping Beauty home video releases thus far have had her sleeping in that horizontal head at left feet at right pose. Only now do we have an exception.

Cinderella for the cover, but that coloring is probably my favorite part about that cover, actually.

I know they always market
Cinderella with blues, but that pink/purple is the color I most associate with the film from my memories. That's just me though, I know; I get your point that most people associate the film with blues because that's the way they've always seen the character/film marketed.
No, I think Cinderella has a lot of pink and purple in it, too. I have always associated it with blue and purple personally. The glass slipper looks purple sometimes.

Yea. It might not be the exact one from the film but it's an illustration of it at least.
I now get what you mean about the linework. I don't have a problem with it, I don't think it makes some parts just look like shapes of color, but I get what you mean.
I have a suggestion for the cover. Aside from the lighting and shading I want, I want the title to be like this (sorry for the crappy job I did on it! I couldn't even tilt the image to line up right with the title in the midde, I don't know where or what to do for that, but here it is!):
