If it's confession time: I didn't buy the Platinum edition. And worst of all, I got a DVD player a month after it's release, but I was into other things at the time so Disney took a back seat.
In my defence though, I did buy the Musical Masterpiece Edition on release day in 2009, and I bought a Hebrew copy of The PE in Israel 6 months ago, mostly for the back to front cover, but it still counts.

Huh ?
Are you from the UK ?
Over here, Aladdin, Mulan, and Pocahontas were released in a DVD called Musical Masterpeice. Those were the only films they included in the line. It was basically a vanilla disc release with the added bonus of having a singalong option.

I have no idea if it will be a Diamond release, but Aladdin is slated for "Fall 2015" for North America. Figured I'd post it here, too, for anyone looking in the future.
That's disappointing that the US is going to have to wait to see Aladdin released on Blu ray until 2015
Perhaps they plan on doing a 3D release and that's why the wait is so long.
If they do a 3D blu ray release of Aladdin perhaps then we will see it in theaters. Think about it, IF Little Mermaid does come to theaters next year, perhaps if it does well Disney will release Aladdin in theaters. Although we might not get it in theaters but I think the reason it's taking that long is a possible 3D Blu Ray release. Is it a good theory?

what other animated classics will they release in 2015 (and 2016)?
They only have around 10-12 titles that are not yet released on blu-ray. I can't imagine they'll release 6 of those in 2014 and the remaining 6 in 2015.
I also can't imagine they'll start re-releasing all movies on blu-ray so soon (except for maybe Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio).
If we go by this schedule, there are actually only 9 unannounced titles left, with 6 of them being the package films:
Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros
Make Mine Music
Fun And Fancy Free
Melody Time
The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad
The Black Cauldron
Hercules
Tarzan
Also, the 6 package films could be bundled in 2-Movie Cellection pairs which will make them 3 releases.
I don't think Blu-ray re-releases will happen as well, at least not for the lesser, non-diamond titles. 2014 and 2015 are going to be very crucial with how the general public adapt more to digital consuming, which I believe is exactly what Disney is trying to test at the moment, especially with the new "digitalcopyplus" service and the fact that more and more releases are given digital copies. I do believe Snow White will be back in October 2016 starting a new "platinum/diamond" line, just not sure if it will be a physical release or all digital.
