Walt Disney Treasures Wave IX Discussion
I emailed Leonard recently to ask about the next years treasures.
He reminded me that he can only make suggestions to Disney as to what they include.
To me, it didn't bode well, as to what will be included on the Zorro set, or perhaps what we will be getting for the other volumes.

Where's the rest of Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox?

This explains why the crappy mouseworks shorts were included in theskippy wrote:I emailed Leonard recently to ask about the next years treasures.

last chronological donald set. All Maltin did was putting up with
Disney's incompetence and had no choice but to boast the fact that these were included.

Given that there's 82 episodes (78 regular episodes and the 4 "Disneyland" ones), to release the complete Zorro via the Treasures would mean that there'd have to be at least 6 more waves, and that "Zorro" always be included in each wave. Since Disney already released the 78 episodes via DMC (ugh), I don't think they'll want to waste a slot in the next several waves of Treasures releases for them (assuming there are that many more waves).Dr.Mirakle32 wrote:There's no reason they eventually can't release the complete "Zorro" as part of the Treasures line, in seperate volumes.

Oh yeah, I can see a few more volumes of Treasures, though I can't see it going past like...wave 12. But I don't think they'll have consecutive waves with a "Zorro" release in each one to re-release all 78 episodes. The 2009 wave will probably be the only one, and we should be so lucky that it's being released at all. I can't imagine how fans of Swamp Fox/Elfego Baca feel knowing they'll likely never get the rest of those episodes on DVD.Dr.Mirakle32 wrote:I can understand them not doing the whole series as Treasure for the reason you mentioned, but I could see at least two or three volumes. IMO, Zorro was the best live-action project to ever come out of Disney.
Plus, I'd rather Disney make general retail releases of the two "Zorro" seasons (with the movies) and the "Disneyland" episodes so that anyone can pick them up instead of a few lucky thousand people who grab the limited-release Treasures or join DMC to get the colourised versions.

Walt Disney Treasure Wave IX
There's no reason for Disney to release the seasons of Zorro through the Treasure line. Mini-series, movies, and shorts -- sure -- but the season of a series is an entity/product all its own.

A modern and recent animated series part of the WDT?? that's sucide Disney...complete sucide *laughs*
I recently rented The Zorro Set from my libary to refresh my mind and be re introduced to the character. It's defintly exciting series, wouldn't mind if the DMC released the series as a complete season set to the public instead of thru membership.
I just wrapped up watchin Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox and I noticed that Elfego Baca skipped 2 whole episodes...was thiis mistake noted by anybody else or is there a replacement disc?? The preview for the skipped episode is attached to the episode "4 down and 5 lives to go"(episode 5) here's the list of episode from Wiki's site.

While watchin Swamp Fox, it reminded me a lil bit of Zorro/Robin ventures but set in the civil War After watchin a preview for the "upcomin" episode, "Day Of Reckoning", I was hooked and ready for more action and plot twists. The series is engaging and I'm prayin that we get Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox Vol 2. along with Zorro in the '09 wave.

It wasn't a mistake. They only chose 3 episodes each for Elfego and Swamp Fox. Elfego Baca has 10 episodes altogether, while Swamp Fox has 8.Mason_Ireton wrote:I just wrapped up watchin Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox and I noticed that Elfego Baca skipped 2 whole episodes...was thiis mistake noted by anybody else or is there a replacement disc??
