If that's aimed towards me, I just don't know how to. :( I'm sure that it'll be uploaded to YouTube before long, though!

My dad just brought home the Secret of the Magic Gourd DVD...

and blackcauldron85's description of the trailer is pretty much as I would describe it....

as for the tone of the trailer....Dark or not...I'd Lean on more Dark than not...I mean they don't market it as A wonderful delight that your family will love forever and ever and again and again.....

I mean how many times do you see the word EVIL and Disney in the same trailer.....

And when it says An All New Game it say it in the scene when the characters in the movie are underground and discover the sprites

it does say deleted scenes not a deleted scene...so I'd say there is hope for it yet....

Now I am watching the trailer right now on the computer....but I have no clue how to download it to youtube or take screencaps.....IF I figure out how to take screen caps I will be sure to let you know on here...

Sadly I don't think the DVD will sell well...don't get me wrong I want this release and I will buy it.....but when parents are watching trailers and see the word Evil that's kinda a turn off right there for parents looking for a new Disney Film for their kid.....I Mean I know a 5 year old who is afraid of Peter Pan because of the Crocodile in the movie so his parents don't let him watch it....

I would be more than happy to rip the trailer and post it on my YouTube account. I do it already for all of Disney's other animated titles. I'm actually double dipping on Mary Poppins for this new trailer, and the fact that I like this cover art better than my 40th anniversary edition. I won't be able to pick up the DVD until Thursday night. I'm sorry I can't get it sooner. Here is a link to my YouTube account:

If you have too much money, you can also give it to me.

(I'm sorry. Am I even allowed to make fun of this?)

I know it sounds horrible, but I do this all the time . I'm 19 and a college student, and I guess my mom has never been able to "let go". She buys all the DVD's and Blu-Ray discs. I'm not going to' lie, I'm spoiled, and embarrassed by it

:D

I'm glad you take it like a good sport. I, for one, would be annoyed by having two virtually identical dvd releases in my collection, only because the cover art differs. But then again, I know people, also in college, who buy dozens of dvd's they never intend to watch, just to "broaden my collection". Like this guy who liked Nightmare on Elm Street, but not the 7 or 8 or 100 sequels, but bought *all* of the films in the franchise anyway, just to "keep the collection complete".

I guess the reason why I sometimes get worked up about this, because to me, it is a destruction of money. It's a waste. That money could have been spend on so much other, better things/causes. (Now I'll stop before Rudy will accuse me of being a preacher again.) :P

Then you will be unhappy to hear that there is no Black Cauldron trailer on the 45th Anniversary DVD.

Does the trailer give any indication as to when it will be released? I'm assuming probably summer (June).

Power DVD 8 is the latest version which let's you run Blu-ray on your computer if you have the drive (but discs made by Fox don't work). I have an older one either 6 or 7 that let's you take screenshots. You can either buy the program from a store or you can try finding it online but I use a mac so I don't worry about any potential viruses that might come with it. Buying it as it is (version 9 is coming soon) might be expensive though depending upon the version.

I also know that WinDVD allows for screencaps, if that helps at all (or at least, version 6 does). :)

Screencap Software?

Post by Disney Duster »

Flam-Ham and enigmawing you are helping, but I think I don't want to get Power DVD if it's expensive and all I want to do is pause movies and move them a frame at a time to take screenshots. That's all I really want, and it does so much more, right?

Is WinDVD something that already comes with your PC...? Can you pause and go a frame at a time?

Certain programs, like WindDVD, make taking screencaps easy but aren't free. You really don't need them though.

Whatever program you're using, pause the video where you want it and hit Print Screen (Prt Scrn) on your keyboard. This will temporarily save the image on your clipboard, which can then be pasted into any image program (like MS Paint) and cropped if needed (since everything on your screen will be saved, not just the video).

If you are using Windows Media Player, you need to disable overlays first: Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Advanced -> un-check "Use Overlays," otherwise you'll get a blank rectangle where the video should be.

If you get the blank rectangle with another program, you'll need to temporarily disable the hardware acceleration. You can find directions on how to do that here. Once you're done, go back to your original settings.

Hope this helps.

Screencap Software?

Thank you very much enigmawing, but I did know about how to use Print Screen to capture video images. It is looking at the film one frame at a time to capture each frame that I really need. Do you know how I can do that?
