Since Disney world's is going to be bigger and have more space to spare, i'd imagine it will included the ursula giant scene.
Kinda like how WDW haunted Mansion has more scenes in the ride than DL's

The Little Mermaid Ride Happened!!!
I'm too busy to fully return yet but I just had to comment on seeing the full ride-through!
After the complaints I was worried, but after seeing it I think it was all nitpicks that don't really need to be changed (for the most part).
I was worried Scuttle wouldn't be a good choice over Sebastian because he can't go underwater, but he turned out to be great! As was said, the effect for going under the water was wonderful, it really makes you feel like the water is rising as you go under the sea! The DVD ride's shipwreck scene that came before going underwater confused me because they didn't look like shipwrecks floating in the stormy sea like would only make sense before we went underwater where sunken shipwrecks are, so I'm glad they did away with it unless the WDW ride fixes it.
I hope the WDW version shows Ariel looking at Eric's ship before going underwater, but her Part of That World scene was perfect. I generally think her animatronic is rather ugly in her face, and I agree she (and everyone) should have more realistic hair, but her hair flowed beautifully here.
Under the Sea was a little too long, and I guess I thought I'd be more immersed in this scene, but it still looked great and I would probably feel immersed if I was actually on the ride for real. The sea creature animatronics don't move as animatedly as the human (or half-human) animatronics, and it doesn't look good, so they should fix that if they could! Also, Ariel's hair looks the absolute worst here. Ew. It could've been done better. The ripples above the scene that show you're underwater didn't move though, like on the DVD. And Sebastian's voice should also be closer to the movie one, why couldn't Samuel E. Wright do this?
Ursula's lair was pretty much perfect. The entrance is much better and scarier than any previous version indicated, and the Ursula animatronic is the best one by far! I don't like the bracelets on her that she never had in the movie, but they may be covering up animatronic joints or something. Her magic bubble should look more like the one in the movie. I am so, so, so surprised and so, so, so happy we do get something of a transformation scene for Ariel, one of my favorite parts from the movie, but it could have been animated better/more beautifully and it may have worked better more silhouetted. Actually the previous animated half-silhouetted Ariel we saw when we first enter the ride could have looked better, too.
Kiss the Girl had the same lovely willow-curtain entrance as the DVD, we just didn't see the curtains open (do the shells in front get to?). I don't find the scene too short for this version of the ride. The water ripples looked way better than the DVD's electric neon-sign-looking ones. The happy ending was actually done well and suitably for this version of the ride, too! We did not get jipped of a happy ending, if you think about it. Ariel gets her legs, then a boat ride, then Ursula destroyed, then her voice, then her wedding, it's all one big long happy ending! I really loved seeing Ariel's returned voice form a heart around her and Eric! King Trition could've looked better and we should've seen Ariel's sisters, but I loved the fireworks in all the colors of the rainbow instead of a rainbow!
All in all, I didn't really think all the complaints were that bad, I was so worried and then watching the thing it turned out much better than I expected or even dreamed! I am looking more forward to WDW's though, for having more scenes and bigger scenes too. I want to feel more enveloped in the worlds, especially of Under the Sea, Ursula's lair, and Kiss the Girl which did that more on the DVD.
I don't understand why we don't get to see the complete moments. All the scenes are on a "loop" so that no one sees anything at "the wrong time". On the Snow White dark ride, we see the Queen transform into the Witch, and she waits in the dark until she pops out at us. But on this Little Mermaid ride, we don't get to see Ariel's tail become the legs, or Ursula sink below the surface. Why is this? And they should make sure that everyone sees Ariel's voice taken in the magic bubble, and hear her singing there, so that it makes sense when we see and hear her voice come back later. I know that scene is in the bubble, but we didn't get to see it on this ride through, and I don't think we get to hear her singing when that scene comes.
I always thought the story should be changed slightly for the ride to make sense, that Ariel should get to kiss Eric and then Ursula is simply destroyed because of that. The only problem is I would have shown just a regular-sized Ursula dying, or maybe not even have her die at all, since Ariel could've just won and gotten her voice back with the kiss.
Something the DVD ride should have shown was that Ariel and Eric don't kiss, and then a scene showing how Ursula got the crown and trident from Triton to become a giant. I suppose Ursula they could have changed it so that Ursula used her own magic to become huge and just attack Ariel as a huge monster for the scary hell of it, but...
Well, that's what I thought! I loved, loved, loved this version of the ride! It's really almost perfect, only the smallest of nitpicks! It's just so good I wish for more!

They basically simplified the story for the ride by deleting the whole Vanessa subplot.
You could say Ursula only acts as a plot-device in this ride for Ariel to get legs. However, I don't think this makes her a 'hero', even though they don't show that she wants to take over the sea.
So, this is the story as it appears in the ride:
*Ariel is a mermaid who wants to become human because she's in love with a human.
*All the fish want to convince her to stay by showing how wonderful the ocean is.
*Ariel makes a deal with Ursula to get legs, but loses her voice.
*Ariel becomes human.
*Ariel and her friends try to get Eric to kiss her.
*Eric kisses Ariel. This destroys Ursula, because she lost.
*Ariel and Eric marry and everybody celebrates.
*The End
As you can see, they just simplified the ending.

Wow, it looks incredible! My only really major quibble as others else have pointed out, is the lack of a showdown scene between Ursula, but hopefully they'll be including that there in Walt Disney World's version.
The Fantasyland system is a lot like the old pretzel/ dark rides of the 1930s-50s. In that a single car rides around, separated from the others on the loop, and along the way it triggers effects that happen directly as the car passes by.
However, the Little Mermaid system is built with the same kind of Omnimover system as the Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, or the Finding Nemo ride. Technically what that means is that all the clamshells are in a constant chain throughout the ride, moving throughout the ride. There is never a break between cars, and the chain of cars never stops, providing a much more efficient loading and unloading of guests, and a much more efficient "people eating" capacity so there is never a long line.
So like the Haunted Mansion, or the constant stream of boats in Pirates of the Caribbean and It's A Small World, all of the effects, sound and dialgoue cues, etc have to be on a loop, since the vehicles are constantly moving and you'll never know exactly at what point a guest will enter the scene. This is why so many songs like "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me)," "It's A Small World," and "Grim Grinning Ghosts" don't have a big finish to their songs - they need to be on a constant loop because one will never know at which point the guest will enter the scene.
The main reason why evetything has to be on "a loop" is because the Little Mermaid attraction and the other Fantasyland attractions are two completely different ride systems.I don't understand why we don't get to see the complete moments. All the scenes are on a "loop" so that no one sees anything at "the wrong time". On the Snow White dark ride, we see the Queen transform into the Witch, and she waits in the dark until she pops out at us. Ursula could never be a hero even in this ride since she still took Ariel's voice, and said Ariel would belong to her forever if she didn't get the kiss! And she also still didn't want Ariel to get the kiss!
I was wondering if that was why the effects were in a constant loop because of the Haunted Mansion-type moving. I still don't quite get how that's easier to load and unload, because I would think to load and unload it needs to stop, and some people might take a while to get on or off so I would think that would stall it.
I also don't think The Little Mermaid is the best choice for this type of system, with all the effects and transformations it has. I mean, it was one of the films of Disney's that needed the most effects since Fantasia. And we need to hear the dialogue of what Ursula is saying, when some people won't get to hear all of it, and some people will never get to see Ariel's voice taken (unless they remove some of Ursula's spiel and one of her bubble scenes to ensure everyone gets to see that part).

The Omnimover system is basically a hop-on-hop-off system, and it never stops. Normally, there are conveyor belts to facilitate the loading stages.Disney Duster wrote:I was wondering if that was why the effects were in a constant loop because of the Haunted Mansion-type moving. The ride was amazing!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! Yes, the kiss "scene" was weird... but what people should be complaining about is Ariel in the "Under the Sea" scene.... She looks horrible LOL She's been named "Disco Ariel" at the park already.
I heard gay-hating-Jodi Benson and Sherie Rene Scott will be performing on Friday for the official ride opening.... not sure how confirmed that is.

And regarding Jodi Benson and gay rights, don't bother about it, it's just waste of time and energy. Think of something positive instead. A discussion on an internet forum is not enough evidence to prove that she thinks this or that, and even if she does, let her. Love her performance as Ariel and "The Little Mermaid". You don't have to like the opinions/private life of an artist even though you like her/his' work. (And I'm gay myself, just saying.)

I don't see any real evidence from anything in her past that suggests that she is homophobic. Due to her faith, she may not particularly agree with the lifestyle but that does not mean someone is homophobic. If we're to go around and start disliking every Christian for believing in the bible, then we might as well bury ourselves in a hole somewhere. Accusing a Christian of being homophobic because they're Christian is no better than being a homophobe itself.
I'll get off my soapbox now, but this is an issue that I have with the gay community at large. We're becoming almost as deaf as they are, and it's just digging us into a deeper hole.
-back on topic-
I didn't realize that there were bursts of air, and other effects that play with the senses! I can't wait for it to come to WDW!!!!
