As disinterested as I usually am in Disney's direct-to-video projects, I have to admit that praise should be given where it is due. And, I think the animation in that clip is worthy of theatrical exhibition. Of course it's certainly not on the level of the stuff that comes out of Pixar or Walt Disney Animation Studios, but the palette is bright, the characters are nicely rendered and they move believably, if a little stiffly. Some people have mentioned that they could have had more expressive faces - which may be true - but on the whole I think the Indian animation company is producing good quality work.
Hence, it makes me sick to read comment upon comment of these types left by internet users on Cartoon Brew:

It's obvious that their 'hatred' mostly stems not from rational reasons but from bias against Disney direct-to-video projects.
How stagnant.

wow, that's a tonload of famous peoplesotiris2006 wrote:Major Update:
Bye bye Brittany Murphy! Tinker Bell will magically get a new voice in her first feature film due October 28th on DVD and Blu-ray. MovieWeb reports that Tinker Bell now stars Mae Whitman as the title character, along with the voices of Raven-Symone (Iridessa), Kristen Chenoweth (Rosetta), Angelica Huston (Queen Clarion), America Fererra and Lucy Liu (likely to voice Fawn and SilverMist respectively). This first direct-to-video feature in the Disney Fairies franchise will feature several special features including a magical guide to Pixie Hollow; deleted scenes with introduction by the filmmaker; a Creating Pixie Hollow featurette; as well as enhanced BD Live Network interactive features on the Blu-ray version.
from animated-news.com
Lucy Lui
Ugly Betty (hey these two have worked together before)
Anjelica Huston
Cheno
Raven
only Mae I don't know, doesn't found familiar, but after wikipedia-ing her, I think it's funny that they only use a professional voice-actor for the main character, and celebrities for everyone else.
Thanks the way to go xD

.Is this Disney's response to "Barbie: Fairytopia" films?
It's funny that people here did said that it's like Barbie Fairytopia films, what's more funny that I heard they"re planning to make a Barbie As Sleeping Beauty and guess? it will be out a few months after Sleeping Beauty Platinum Edition,I guess that Mattel said that "They ripped off our Fairytopia with TinkerBell? we"ll rip off their precious Sleeping Beauty

.and it’s feeling less like classic Disney and more like Sex And The City for fairies

Well, I don't see Lasseter showing any hypocrisy. He may or may not have wanted to stop it, and he may or may not have been overulled. (It depends upon who you choose to believe). But he reportedly demanded the movie was retooled, and I assume to some extent has had input into the film, so its partly his product.Ariel'sprince wrote:akhenaten wrote:lasseter's hypocrisy in that video is priceless.
I don't exactly see why Lasseter is "required" to introduce the film though. Is Lasseter's celebrity bigger than Walt's ever was now? After all, Walt didn't introduce every Animated Classic from the studio while he was alive.
Sleeping Beauty does not belong to Disney. It's a traditional tale, told and retold many times. It's funny that people here did said that it's like Barbie Fairytopia films, what's more funny that I heard they"re planning to make a Barbie As Sleeping Beauty and guess? it will be out a few months after Sleeping Beauty Platinum Edition,I guess that Mattel said that "They ripped off our Fairytopia with TinkerBell? we"ll rip off their precious Sleeping Beauty".
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Since he "fixed" the movie I think he should introduce the film.
I know, but release it a few month after Disney's Sleeping Beauty? also Mermaidia was released a few months before The Little Mermaid PE.2099net wrote:Sleeping Beauty does not belong to Disney. I do like what I saw sofar from Tink, however I can't help but wonder why I should prefer this over any Barbie related material,
and that voice: Ahw!!, she needs to work on that, I even doubt one can endure that voice 4 movies in a row!
Still, visuals are remarkably refreshing!

When it comes to brains, I got the lion-share,
but when it comes to bruth strength, I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool

I like this scene, the animation is unbelieveable, my thoughts for Tink's voice was sound petite yet has a mature quality to it.

ok thanks, I was surpised to hear Shanti's voice (Mae Whitman) comin from Tink I was like....not how I imagined her voice, sure Tink looks to be round 28-33 years old and figured her voice being fairly mature yet alil petite at the same time.... It's like how Charlie Chaplin explained why the Tramp would be dead if he talked, "The Tramp can't talk, the minute he talks, he's dead". Many people have different ideas bout how Tink's voice sounds and being Disney they manage to be somewhat timid bout things.

Is it just me, or does it feel like this thing has been promoted since forever?! I know it hasn't been that long, but it feels like every video release for the past 5 years has had a preview for this, and if I see one more "Pixie Preview" on the Disney Channel I'm going to go crazy -- it feels like they've been showing those forever!! It's a little overkill I think. But at least people will know about it, lol.

Disney's Magical Places
Ariel'sprince was wondering what I was wondering. And now, we can all know what Disney Magical Places is.
All aboard for the world of Disney Magical Places
"...journey to the store week after week!"
NO!
Disney is trying to keep us all buying! Isn't it funny how Wall-E's message was anti-consumerism, and yet the film was featured saying it "will take sales numbers into outer space!"
