saw a 2-pack of flynn and punzie dolls today [barbie style.]
the word "tangled" was in tiny writing in the top right corner and not visible without taking the box off the shelf. dominating the front was "featuring rapunzel". doing a good job of telling everyone what the name isnt really. and the flynn doll didnt even look like him.

only reason i saw it was cos i saw a gorgeous mulan doll that i considered buying just cos it looked so great.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, and I just wanted to say that all the information, pictures, and videos you have posted on this site thus far are just awesome. I've never been more excited for this movie. :D In fact, you all got me so hyped up for this that I made an AMV out of all the clips that have been posted. If you're interested, it can be found here:

Please let me know what you think, I really value your opinions. :) I look forward to discussing Tangled with everyone in the future!

Flynn is bringin' SEXY back!

Post by Jackoleen »

Dear Disney Enthusiasts,

At 31, I probably SHOULDN'T be saying so, but Flynn is bringin' SEXY back, fer shurr!

I'd like to thank Polizzi for the latest video. Let me just say that Flynn is totally turning me on with his descriptions of the scents of the pub!

Of course, I've fallen for Grumpy, Jiminy Cricket, Timothy Mouse, The Grand Duke, The Caterpillar, Peter Pan, Tramp, Prince Phillip, Baloo, Thomas O'Malley, Robin Hood, Taran, Basil (and sometimes Ratigan), Dodger, Jake, Lumiere, Aladdin, Jafar, Uncle Scar, John Smith, Ratcliffe, Clopin, Frollo (Sometimes?), Quasimodo (Sometimes?), Phoebus (?), Hercules, The Emperor, Li Shang, Mushu, Tarzan, Roarke, Milo (?), Doctor Doppler.

A poster of Mickey Mouse adorned the wall at the foot of my bed during college; guess whom I fantasized about?

Thank you in advance for your replies.
;)

Welcome to the forum!

Your AMV is really good. I especially like the fact that during the music bridge, you emphasized on the romance by using the lantern scenes just like in Tarzan where the romance is emphasized at that same part as well.

@Mobje: Thanks for the pic!

@Polizzi: Thanks for the videos :)

An Evening with Disney: A Look at Tron Legacy and Tangled
http://www.awn.com/blogs/miscweant/even ... nd-tangled
Tangled directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno then introduced their not quite fully animated (plenty of only slightly-rendered scenes and even a few storyboard frames) and yet to be 3D’d movie. During their introduction Greno and Howard credited “Disney animation legend” Glen Keane for mentoring the film’s “hot new” animators.

I’ll go out on a bit of a limb here and call Tangled Disney’s liveliest animated feature in a long time and their best fairy tale updating ever. While their earlier fables played it essentially straight with sidekick characters providing the laughs, the dynamic between self-confident Rapunzel (she has no trouble kicking ass or calling the shots when necessary) and the self-infatuated thief Flynn is a pairing of equals that generates levity and gravity in equal amounts. (And don’t worry Disney critter fans, the film features a couple of companion animals who nicely up the comedy quotient.)

There’s also some impressively animated character animation so supple I could’ve sworn was motion captured, particularly during the villain’s song, but the directors assured me everything in the film was key-framed.
Disney/Pixar Put Their All into 'Tangled'
http://www.canada.com/Disney+Pixar+thei ... story.html
Lasseter screened a 2-D rough cut of the movie, loosely based on the Rapunzel fairy tale, just weeks before the picture's 3-D release on Nov. 24, because, he said, he knows a good film when he sees it.

More than 300 animators worked almost non-stop over two intense years perfecting, among many things, Rapunzel's hair (more than 100,000 individual strands), the forest environment (a mix of computer and hand-drawn animation) and some key lantern scenes (requiring 46,000 individual animated lantern fires).

"This was a very challenging and complex film," said Lasseter after screening the unfinished version of Tangled. "And we held the bar really high."
Oscars: Five Animated Films Down to Three? Animated Titles Up to 12
http://incontention.com/2010/10/12/anim ... -up-to-12/
It’s looking more and more like the magic number of 16 won’t be reached in this year’s animated feature film race. By my count, we have 12 titles.

One of them, Bill Plympton’s “Idiots and Angels,” may not have submitted the proper paperwork (I’m unsure at the moment). But it opened last week in New York regardless and will hit Los Angeles screens on October 29. Wouldn’t it be great to see Plympton in the mix, though?

I had originally though the Japanese “Tales from Earthsea” would be eligible, but while opening in a foreign territory one year prior is permitted (more of this arbitrary nonsense — it’s scattered throughout AMPAS rules and regs), more than that is not. The film opened in 2006 in Japan.

Is it possible “Yogi Bear” and/or, I don’t know, “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” qualify? The former is being submitted, but the latter, probably not. Can the dynamic “Chico and Rita” find a domestic home in time? But even adding them to the mix, we’re two films short. So it’s likely we’ll only have three nominees in the category this year, making it pretty easy to go ahead and predict “How to Train Your Dragon,” “The Illusionist” and “Toy Story 3” for inclusion.

It’s worth noting that the HFPA only need 12 eligible titles to nominate five, so we’re probably looking at enough to get a quintet at the Golden Globes.

Meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from the Disney movie, "Tangled," in Fantasyland at Disneyland park.

Image

It's a beautiful meet and greet area, but I guess Rapunzel can't move far with her hair attached to the wall? :P

Thanks for all your posts sotiris2006! :)
I had no idea about the Dutch Rapunzel voice cast.
I'm pleased with Karin Bloemen as Mother Gothel!
The others...hmm..not so much :)
Then again...i'll probably won't even be seeing the Dutch version...just listening to the songs in Dutch!

You are welcome! I actually made an account to respond to you. And also thanks for linking my scans and pictures from hellyeahtangled, since I run it. I been a really long time lurking for the Tangled threads for a really long time. I get most of my information from here.

Here is a video of the Rapunzel and Flynn face characters I found on youtube.
