I just got home from my midnight showing as well.
All I can really do is reflect the glowing reviews everyone has already posted. I've been diving into all of the spoilers and every image that has leaked onto the internet for this movie since 2004 and I was still left surprised by the film itself. It truly is a visually beautiful film, and none of the images we've seen so far have been able to accurately show us how wonderful it is. This is also the best 3D i've ever seen aside from maybe Avatar.
I was a little shocked that "When Will My Life Begin" (reprise 1) did not make the film. It seems a bit obvious that it would've fit perfectly when Gothel leaves the tower the first time. Still, without it the moment was still powerful seeing Rapunzel's hair gently blowing in the wind.
I thought that I wouldn't like the Pub Thugs as much as I did. I absolutely love the little old man one in the diaper, and the mime thug. "I've Got a Dream" certainly exceeded my expectations.
Overall, I would say this is an upgrade to The Princess and the Frog. I Love TPatF, but the music among some other minor things fell short for me. Tangled seems to fix all of the issues I had left with TPatF, and aside from feeling a tiny bit cliche, it is a fantastic film.

I'm someone that when they watched Avatar and Alice in Wonderland in 3D felt it was a minor addition to the movie experience and a shame that the picture brightness was dimmed a little.
So I was wondering for anyone that may have seen these two movies, if the 3D adds the same sort of value to Tangled or is it more?
I was thinking that it might be worth seeing Tangled and Tron Legacy in 3D, but if it's on the same level as the movies I mentioned, I'll just see them in the old standard 2D (so to speak).
I can't wait to see it though, but have to wait until the 6th of January, which is a month and a half away, but I'll go insane waiting (book me into the local mental hospital - Could you imagine that though: Nurse: We have another Disney nut. Doctor: Must be the onset of that Rapunzel movie coming up next year. Nurse: Poor thing).
Good to hear it's getting good reviews and feedback.

89% on Rotten Tomatoes. Well, it's better than the Princess and the Frog, and some of those reviews shouldn't even be counted (one of the same 3 guys who gave Toy Story 3 a "rotten" review, also reviewed Tangled and gave it a negative review. Reason? He prefered Aardman over all other animation studios. ???)
And no. Other than the screening (which was like, 1 and a half months ago.) I haven't seen the movie yet. Now I REALLY want to see it again. I was mainly trying to listen to the music and the plot when I saw it. Now, I forgot how amazing the visuals are. But untill then, I'm scared to have a "anxious breakdown" on the boards...

Does it premiere today in the US? ur so lucky haha
we Dutch have to wait till december first, and there's still no sign of Rapunzel to arrive, so I don't think many people will know it's coming in cinema's next week(Disney really should do something about marketing, because otherwise all it's movies are going to be a flop on the box-office)...only thing of marketing was a small leaflet inside BatB diamond edition promoting the film, so only fans will know it's coming.

I agree with you on every level. I am also a dutchie and NO SIGN! Evertime i watch tv i zap of every channel but there's nothing to be found. Plenty about Tron legacy though. Not even disney xd has commercials or trailers about Rapunzel.. it's a shame!Toky wrote:Does it premiere today in the US? ur so lucky haha![]()

hopelijk gaan ze deze week toch echt met de reclame beginnen dan, want nederlandstalige clips zijn er al, dus de synchronisatie moet er al zijn(al vind ik kim-lian zo slecht zingen)Fairytales wrote:I agree with you on every level. Extended clip of Horsing Around.
I'm so excited. I'm seeing it tonight
Currently Tangled has a 90 on RT and it's certified fresh!

Really? I swear it was played in my theater... It was played right when Gothel left. That's strange...
Personally, I thought the 3D was worth it especially during the lantern scene. The lantern scene and the finale scene made the whole 3D thing felt totally worth it.
I went to my midnight showing as well with my father and he loved it. The theater was filled with teenagers and they seemed to all love it (the girls next to me were crying at the end and so was I).
Beautiful movie, great humor, and very heartwarming as well. The animation was GORGEOUS.
Pascal and Maximus definitely steal the show through the whole movie, everyone couldn't stop laughing at every scene they were in.
Overall, great movie and I loved it. I think everyone else summed my feelings very well.

I agree with you on every level. I just saw a Rapunzel trailer in front of RTL Boulevard and they had brief interviews with the Dutch cast in a small segment.Fairytales wrote:I agree with you on every level. I just put on the tv in hope that i'd see something and there was a trailer!! YAY! (though i missed half of it.)
They said: Rapunzel! In cinema's december 1st! I'm happy they call it Rapunzel here.
i've seen it about 3 times now. it keeps appearing at the same channel

I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

Now that I see this... you guys noticed how some critics and people are saying that Tangled is a lot like Beauty and the Beast? There may be more coincidences like that...Fairytales wrote:<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5gqg3-5srs4?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5gqg3-5srs4?fs=1&hl=nl_NL" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I teared up a bit.
For example...
Tangled was released today on November 24. Beauty and the Beast was originally released on November 22, 1991. While a few days later, Tangled is released on the 19th anniversary of that film. On top of this, a few months prior Beauty and the Beast was released on Blu-Ray. Both movies haven Alan Menken as a composer.
Most importantly...both are landmark films. Beauty and the Beast was the 30th animated featured, and now Tangled is going to be the 50th.
Kind of fascinating, no?
love that video!
it's nice to see disney actually spotlight certain movies that never see any sort of recognition! i mean they did kind of have to for this video lol

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k236/skyler_888/r.jpg" border="0" alt="rapunzel"></a>
also, they have both a male and a female leading characters equal in importance, the villain is a selfish good looking in love of him/her self shallow person pretending to love the leading girl and the whole plot it's a magical flower's fault LOLpap64 wrote:you guys noticed how some critics and people are saying that Tangled is a lot like Beauty and the Beast?
