^Interesting that every reason that you dont like TS3 is actually explicitly countered in TS2.

Is it at least one of the Best Animated Films? Let's see, there were this one, How To Train Your Dragon, Shrek 4, Despicable Me, Megamind and Tangled. Those are the only ones I could think of. Did I miss any others?
The list does not contemplate critical review, only box office impressiveness. Of which, Box Office Mojo did not consider TS3 to be, for the reasons listed.

Can Yogi Bear even be considered animated?

Partially. But calling it live-action is equally questionable imo.

I finally got to see Toy Story 3 tonight! …I’m way behind.

Anyway, I thought it was really great. Maybe not as great as I imagined, but I still loved it. Hopefully I can give better thoughts than that later--I plan to watch the whole trilogy together this weekend.

There were a few things that seemed a little bothersome to me, but nothing huge. The characters seemed a bit cut and paste with this movie. I mean, that isn’t really problem, considering it’s a second sequel, but they seemed stuck on repeat without anything really new going on since the second movie. What I mean is that there seemed to be no real development. They’d already grown in the other movies, and this one didn’t push them any farther (Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Rex were barely there at all). The Incinerator scene might've been more emotional (than it already was, I mean) if they'd done more with them. Also, Jessie was very annoying in this movie. Admittedly, she annoyed me bits in TS2, but that was understandable because she was dealing with the abandonment, going into storage, she didn’t know Woody that well, etc. Here, she just seemed to be really mean to Woody.

And, of course, the number one thing that bothered me was--Bo Peep (or lack of her)! I can’t believe she didn’t get a cameo at all in this movie, even something at the end. Maybe they could've had us find out she had already been given to Bonnie before? Or, even if she didn’t get reunited with Woody, she at least got a scene in the movie at some point. It just seemed really weird to have no closure on that... Did the voice actor not want to return or something?

Still, I loved what they did with Lotso, Ken and Barbie. Bonnie was really adorable! Liked her toys, too. Loved the scenes they had with Andy at the end (he was animated really great, btw). Nice to finally see Andy’s mom. Big Baby and the Monkey were creepy, and the Incinerator scene was great! The score was really beautiful in parts, and it was nice to see Buster aged. The final scene with Chuckles was nice, too--which reminds me, the opening scene was genius! :D I also loved how they had Mrs. Potato Head “seeing” into Andy’s room.

Overall, one of the best trilogies--definitely the best animated trilogy! Has there ever been any other theatrically-released animated trilogy (I put the theatrical in there so we just leave out the DTV sequels altogether)?

Believe it or not, there's a Care Bears movie trilogy. Also, a Rugrats one and The Swan Princess.

There's also a bunch from Japan, that I've probably never heard of.

Trilogy of Care Bears....and here I thought there were only one and 2 (and when I mean 2 I mean classic Care Bears not the new CGI movies they came out with)....what's the third?

Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Care_B ... Wonderland

You probably haven't heard of it since it doesn't look like it's been released to DVD in the US.

Oh, and this more recent film was released theatrically as well.

But, she did have a cameo.

It had nothing to do with the voice actor. The real reason she wasn't a part of this movie was they couldn't think of anything for Andy to say about her while giving her to bonnie, and it wouldn't make sense to have a fragile lamp go on the adventure with them. With the cast as crowded as it was there was just no obvious place for her. They couldn't leave her at the house because they needed to make sure woody didn't have any real incentive to stay at Andy's house at the end, and be willing to move to Bonnie's.

They had the idea add her in the opening western sequence later in production but they didn't have time since they needed to make a new model of her. The old models had to be rebuilt and rigged for animation. the model they used in the pic I posted had no animation controls in place.

Congrats to Toys Story for their Grammy best soundtrack! :)
Again Tangled is snubbed even for the nomination. Although Alice in Wonderland got a nomination.

Congrats to TS3 for best animated! (Although it was kind of given)

How about the shot at the academy he took in his acceptance speech? :o\

(Also still bitter about Tangled.)

Wow! What a surprise! Totally didn't see that coming! What next? Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows? The very idea!

Don't get me wrong, Toy Story 3 and Pixar are completely amazing. But I'm still cheesed off that Pixar is hogging the Oscar again for the FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW!!!! :( :x

The Oscars aren't a buffett, DisneyJedi. As long as Pixar keeps making good movies, they'll get awards.

They'll get the awards even when the movies aren't so good.

That being said, I do think TS3 deserved it this year, though I really enjoyed HTTYD and Tangled.

Well, I'm glad it didn't. In fact, it didn't even DESERVE to win Best Song.
