Thank you. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who didn't like it.
Same here. Glad I only rented it.

On the subject of Alice... I agree, I didn't think it was that great. Wasn't terrible, but not worth owning because I'd NEVER watch it lol.

On the subject of Toy Story 3: Of COURSE it deserves to win best picture! It was amazing in just about every way possible :D
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

They'll probably mainly campaign it for technical awards. Like it or not, it does have a real shot at makeup, visual effects, art direction, costume design and maybe original score and sound. I can see it getting nominated in those first four categories, anyway.

Woah, cool! I'd still love to get a look at what they had going on before it was scrapped for Pixar's version.

At one point I was highly upset I didn't see it in theaters (because I wanted to do the 3D thing) but it was such a let down to me that it doesn't matter all that much now.

Cool post. That sure looks like something.

Anyone else feeling that Toy Story 3 is a lock for a Best Picture nomination at this point? I mean I know 90% of the Oscar bait has yet to be released, but I just can't imagine it not making the field of ten. It's one of three released films I'd consider BP nomination locks thus far.

I also think Toy Story 3 is a lock for the nomination, what with the field of 10 and its massive critical and audience acclaim. I also think it has a good shot of getting a screenplay nomination (along with animated feature and song as well as possibly score and sound). Winning will be a different matter. I don't think the Academy will ever give best picture to an animated film...ever. They're way too biased against the medium.

Questions about the Best Buy ironpack pre-order:

(1) Is it only for the combo pack? I mean, can I pick up a non-combo BD on release day and get credited with the pre-order?

(2) Are the $10 coupons ONLY for combo packs and not the 2-Disc BD?

(3) For future reference, what is cheaper? 2-Disc BD w/o coupon or Combo pack w/$10 Coupon?

Oh and YAY!!! The Incredibles on BD!!!!

I'm sure that's either someone's review copy or they were able to purchase it early from somewhere. I remember a few years ago I went into my local fye and could've bought the Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition a week or so before it's release because they accidently put it on the shelf.

I'm excited for The Incredibles to be released on blu, but wtf about keeping the same cover art! That's so... lazy.

I'm hoping and betting that's only temp place art and not the final art result come Spring 2011

As much as I want the incredibles, why are they promoting that over Nemo, a movie that was supposed to have released what, 2 years in a row now?

Frankly I'll believe it when I see it, Im skeptical of most upcoming blu ray inserts these days when it comes to Disney/pixar.

Because The Incredibles is a million times better than Finding Nemo ;)

Anyway.... two weeks to go till Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray! I can't waiiit!!! I'd try and get a copy a few days early from the grocery store I work at, but I doubt we'll get the combo-pack =/

Not saying I disagree, I actually think Nemo is a bit over rated myself, I much prefer the incredibles, but that doesn't excuse ignoring Nemo. They keep saying "oh its coming this year, you'll see" then next year comes and its "this year, this time Im sure!"
Heck, one promo video on their Youtube channel acts as if its already out. as if to rub it in our faces. Lies I tells yea, all lies.

I would assume that Nemo would be coming in the winter for the holiday season over any other time of year. It was one of Pixar's most profitable films after-all, they should make the most of it!

back on topic...

I think it's fairly obvious that Toy Story 3 will get the nomination, I'm not sure about winning though. I think it deserves to win, as I simply loved it but i guess we'll just have to wait and see what the competition will be.
