I'd say color alterations are more excusable since it doesn't change the flow of the shots. That's something that should be locked down from the storyboard phase.
Beauty and the Beast Cogsworth scene? What did you think of that?
Did you buy the Blu-ray?
I can't wait to add this beauty to my 3D Disney collection. There are some scenes which I think will look great in 3D including:
Ursula bursting out of Vanessa
Eric's ship cresting over waves at the beginning
Sebastian being thrown into the pot by the chef
Triton going postal on Ariel's collection.
Ariel reaching out to the surface from her cave
the first reveal of Atlantica
the final battle
Are they friggin kidding me with the scene change??? Why would they do that??? The acting doesnt fit anymore, nor does the timing of her landing on the floor... why would they do this?!?!?!
I met R. Clements and J. Musker 2 weeks ago... had I known about this, I would have asked them!
The switching shots in the POTW scene is bizarre. What would possess them to do that? Especially to such an iconic moment. It would be like if MGM switched shots during Somewhere Over the Rainbow in The Wizard of Oz.
Obviously it wasn't done on purpose. Especially since it is on the Blu-ray and not the DVD and the DVD in Diamond Editions are the new transfer. It's an error and one they'll hopefully fix.

Hearing that it doesn't have that problem on the DVD gives me more hope that Disney might make this right after all.
However I wont get my hopes up too high just in case

In the flagship London store on Oxford Street, the window display is still 'Planes' and 'Monsters University'. Really disappointed Mermaid isn't featured.

Well Cinderella actually did have worse than that done to it, since they also erased some of the artwork, but I bought it because it's my favorite film of all time.
I am hoping to buy The Little Mermaid, my second favorite Disney film, on Blu-ray, but only after I see if they will fix the error.

Wait... the DVD's fine? ... A-HA! I knew it'd be just a technical error!

Man.. talking about complete scores makes me so mad!!
I'm ok with all the Disney scores, but I think that Anastasia's Score is far superior than any of the Disney ones. but half of that score is not included in the soundtrack! It's on youtube and it bothers me so much! ARGH!
As far as Disney scores go, my favorites in order are:
Pocahontas
Beauty and the Beast
Lion King
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Aladdin/
"In every age, Family is king,
and the bravest journeys, are never taken alone."
-Brave.
I preordered the Blu boxset months ago, as I obviously wanted the entire collection on blu (if the original is muddled, I still want the sequels on blu, and I can't get them any other way), and I went to the supermarket this morning...and it is there! For the SAME price ! (20p cheaper in fact!) And mine hasn't even been dispatched yet.

I do despair of Amazon sometimes.
You could go get it at the supermarket and cancel your amazon order as with amazon you don't pay until it ships or is in the process of shipping

If you don't want it from Amazon anymore (getting it from the supermarket if you choose) and you can't cancel during preparation of shipping, when you get the item delivered, you can go to amazon, press "return item" and follow the instructions to ship back and receive the refund. One thing: never have it opened. ... unless you want to provide that copy as a gift.

No, that original soundtrack doesn't have the complete score - there are vast chunks missing, as is the case with a lot of Menken scores. Such a relief to have it all now!
