And you just know if "Frozen" had been made in the '90s, it would have gotten a direct-to-video sequel where Anna's daughter had magical abilities and then she runs off after becoming frustrated with her mother. She later meets Hans who would have lied about his past encounter with Anna and Elsa to gain her sympathy, all as an act of revenge.

The voice actors for Anna, Elsa and Kristoff would have probably reprised their roles, but Olaf would definitely have been a soundalike.

Exactly, and who in the world would want that for a theatrical sequel?

that's interesting you say that b/c there's a lot of fans who hate what they did to Elsa. They don't like that it seems to go against her development of the first film where she went from being a loner who felt she had to separate herself from her sister, her people and her duty as Queen to the sequel basically doing exactly that. I do think they kinda have a point but personally it wasn't something that ruined the film for me.

So my older sister and I are going to see Frozen II again sometime next weekend, and of course I'm happy about that seeing how much I really adore the movie. :D

Got back from the movie hours ago. I personally enjoyed it and the post-credits scene.

Olaf’s “death” brought on some serious Infinity War flashbacks.

Apparently Arendelle was supposed to be destroyed and rebuilt. Such a shame that didn't happen.

Finally got to see it this past weekend. Enjoyed the story for the most part, though a had a few nit-picks all of which have been talked to death in this thread already so no need to rehash them.

I will say the music left me very disappointed. I had purchased the Frozen soundtrack before I had even left the theatre back in 2012, this time around the only song I downloaded was Panic at the Disco’s version on Into the Unknown which I honestly find far superior to Elsa’s. In fact I like all three “Pop Versions” included on the Frozen II soundtrack (listened to it a couple times on Spotify hoping to appreciate the songs more) more than the movie versions which has never happened before.

I would give the Best Original Song Oscar to “The Next Right Thing” if it were up to me. It was really the only song in the movie that moved me at all, but I’m sure “Into the Unknown” will be the one Disney pushes.

A part of me was actually hoping that Arendelle would be destroyed in the movie for some reason, even though I knew it wouldn't.

I love that design though! I wish we could have gotten something like that in the film after all (maybe this was cut around the time they decided to not kill off Elsa or resurrect her as more than human.) Probably they realized the new design wouldn't sell as many dollhouses and play sets.

I'm noticing a running trend with both Frozen films where what we nearly got tends to be better than the final products.

Jenny Nicholson suggest that was because Arendelle theme park is in development for years.

That makes sense as well. They've been building and developing Arendelle in the Tokyo Disney park, if not maybe other parks as well. Although they could have left Tokyo's Arendelle to be the original version and future versions in other parks could be the new one from the end of Frozen 2. Japan is even more Frozen obsessed than the rest of the world so they probably wouldn't like having an outdated version though.

Love it! I hope they'll release Show Yourself too. I feel like that's more of a fan favorite than Into the Unknown.

Interesting that Home made it far enough into Frozen II's production to be included in screenings. I wonder if that means the test audience screenings from this previous summer where Elsa died. If the song was fully animated, I hope it shows up on the Blu-Ray.

Awesome! What I love about the number is how it's not only a fantastic "I want" song, but it's also visually creative at it's climax.
