False alarm, that was from the Walt Disney Netherlands YouTube channel
It's "Tangled" (pukes in mouth) in the UK. Having an English trailer for Rapunzel is soo deceptive when the English speaking countries are the only ones saddled with the crappy "Tangled" title. I was liking how the trailer used 'tangled' as a slogan while continuing to have Rapunzel as the actual title.

So some of the shots in the trialer aren't even in the movie? Hmm...
Trailers are made wayyy before the movie actually comes out and there could be scenes and lines that never even make it into the final film. I know for TPatF, there were lines in the first full trailer that were either changed in the final film or deleted all together. Therefore, I guess it makes sense.

Well, even though it only says, "Rapunzel," in other nations besides the US, we can still get the movie on DVD from other nations, besides in the US, that bears the name, "Rapunzel." But what if the English version on DVD from foreign nations is called, "Tangled," in the opening titles besides, "Rapunzel," even though it is called, "Rapunzel," in foreign nations? Unless it can still be called, "Rapunzel," in the opening titles in English from foreign nations. But I hate to say this to you Disney fans, I have a bad feeling that it will probably be called, "Tangled," on the English version in foreign nations, but what would be like to change the AUDIO to English, even though we do not understand some of the languages from the nations? Maybe then, the opening titles will be called, "Rapunzel," in English audio with foreign languages. Just a thought. But I do want to say this, I remember watching, "The Princess and the Frog," on Youtube before it gets released onto DVD that is in English, but the title of the movie is foreign besides English. Which means that there could be a chance to be called, "Rapunzel," from foreign nations in English...maybe.

Tangled
It is the way Rapunzel says "EVER!" that sounds too valley girl and...stupid, like purposely trying to sound funny to today's generation of dumb pop cultured kids.
And the music in the Dutch trailer was the same music from the first teaser, stock music used in the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 1 trailer, it's not Menken.

Hahaha. I LOVEEE the "Best. Day. Ever." line! I feel like many people will say the same thing after getting their dreams to come true.
I mean Ariel used words and phrases like "Oh my gosh," "My father's going to kill me," "daddy," etc and no one complains about how anachronistic The Little Mermaid actually is.
I do have one complaint though. If the Dutch trailer used those really cool titles (In a kingdom faraway...), then does Disney think Americans are just dumb and uncultured? It's a serious question.

I know...I already posted this trailerjpanimation wrote:False alarm, that was from the Walt Disney Netherlands YouTube channel![]()

This is the English trailer for the Netherlands. Where the movie is called Rapunzel. So it would be weird if the English version had another title while playing in the same country.
And which title would be on the dvd?

When we get a DVD and Blu-ray here in the Netherlands it will contain the dutch and english audio track and many other european languages. But since the video for dutch territories is made with the dutch title "Rapunzel" in mind, you'd be able to watch the movie with "Rapunzel" and not "Tangled" in the main title sequence! Same goes for the DVD/Blu-ray cover...
"Rapunzel" all the way!

Well, most American families did opt to see Alvin and the Chipmunks over The Princess and the Frog, so I can see how the execs would think that. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Bob Iger or John Lasseter swore out loud when they read the box-office results on that weekend's issue of Variety.tsom wrote: I do have one complaint though. Hell, I swore out loud. If I was Lasseter I would have thrown a temper tantrum.estefan wrote:Well, most American families did opt to see Alvin and the Chipmunks over The Princess and the Frog, so I can see how the execs would think that. Just like Cinderella III: ATIT was just called Cinderella: ATIT here and in some other countries. The title sequence was also different.robster16 wrote:When we get a DVD and Blu-ray here in the Netherlands it will contain the dutch and english audio track and many other european languages. Wow, this is embarrassing. I almost want to see someone do a recut trailer portraying how this movie SHOULD have been marketed. I think a lot of the people who bash this movie only saw the trailers and didn't bother to watch the actual movie.
The trailer SUCKS!!! I put off watching the movie for years because the trailer made the movie out to be crap. When I eventually did watch the movie, I was amazed. It was so dark and adult. I loved it. Stupid trailer. Whoever was put in charge of marketing this movie should have been fired.
So you see,it hasn't been the first time Disney badly marketed a movie. Some of us have seen The Hunchback of Notre Dame and loved it!
It wasn't as slapstick as we thought. It was a dark and serious movie.

^Wow! They pretty much took the biggest slapstick lines of the movie and put it in the trailer. And they used a ton of scenes from the Festival of Fools, and hardly any of Frollo or the darker parts of the movie. I don't blame that person for not seeing the movie; that trailer does not do it justice. I'll even admit this, and it's is my favourite Disney film.

So... I guess we're just meant to watch the Tangled trailers with HoND in mind... One of the darkest, most adult Disney films seems to have the most slapstick-y, silly trailers! I wonder if Tangled will be similarly dark at times... It very well could be, with some of the "Mommy issues" and complex villain!

My compliments to that site: WHO DARE CALLS FLYNN RIDER GAY?!? To me, he is like a prince, even though he is a bandit, who saves a princess from the tower to bring her to her parents, so that she can be reunited, and live happily ever after. If Flynn Rider does that, then his bandit career will be over, but what would it be like if Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are both bandits, with a horse named Maximus that has a sign behind him saying, "Just Tangled?" I could picture Rapunzel's hair stealing everything in her path...maybe. Just a thought.tsom wrote:Um, have you guys seen this?
