Yes, I have just smashed up my living room in a rage because S2M presented an opinion.

Meh, its just entertainment. And Most Haunted entertains me. IMO anyone expecting a proper scientific investigation on a weekly TV series is either going to be {a} disappointed or {b} bored stupid.

OK I won't state the obvious (Doctor Who/Torchwood/The Sarah Jane Adventures) but will try and dig down into my deepest, darkest unused areas of my mind to come up with my best non-current TV series:

Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) :
Called the rather imagnative My Partner the Ghost in the US - no wonder that didn't capture everyone's imagination stateside.

The Avengers :
Especially the Tara King episodes. I know most people prefer Emma Peel, but there's something more appealing to me about a woman who plays weak/dumb and then smites thugs/criminals/insane scientists who want to conquer the world/whatever with her handbag.

Life on Mars :
Recently "deceased" but its worth its early death just for the exceptional ending (which wouldn't had nearly as much impact had the series been strung out much longer)

Spaced :
The first production of the team that brought you Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz (and additionally co-written by the delightful Jessica Stevenson)

The Adam and Joe Show :
The Adam and Joe Show was a high-density programme.
Come back Adam and Joe. Channel 4 needs you.

Sherlock Holmes (The Adventures of/The Return of/The Casebook of):
The best adaptations with the best Holmes ever (the late Jeremy Brett), which will never be beaten.

The Day Today :
"Those are the headlines. God, I wish they weren't."
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I completely forgot about this one... the first season just started airing in Canada a couple weeks ago, and so far it's quite good.

Well TM2, I suspect you'll only get half the enjoyment out of Spaced as people over here would. It really is a show written for British non-achievers in their early 30s. Like the Simpsons it's full of pop-culture references, but most are dated and British (childhood nostalgia for the target audience). I never thought it would be "big" in another country.

Maybe you're right, though I've found it pretty funny so far, personally. But then, I've been watching British programming since I was a kid. Also, Canadian humour tends to be more akin to British humour than American... though it sometimes has a bit of the latter fused in.

Most of mine are animation (because that's what interests me most), so... Anyway, my favorites are:

Desperate Housewives
Golden Girls
Murder, She Wrote
Will & Grace (the early seasons at least)
Fairy Tale Theater
Reboot
Tenchi Muyo
Wolf's Rain
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Invader Zim
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Aladdin
Hercules (though the animation is, for the most part, hideous)
DuckTales

Things I Watch (But Aren't All-Time Favorites):

Nip/Tuck
American Idol
Reba
Roseanne
South Park
House, M. D.
Samurai 7

New Shows:

Greek
Brothers and Sisters
Ugly Betty

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Scrubs- as long as they run that damn thing, I'm gonna watch it! Or until I see an episode I don't like (that very pro-life one I saw last week didn't do much to enhance the show's reputation, though).

and I will definitely check out maybe the first episode of the new Flavor of Love. But they've never found a group of girls as charismatic as those on the first season. No more Goldie's, although Buckwild was close. Just to see if anyone seems interesting at all.

Well, I watched NBC last night!

Chuck - I enjoyed it

Heroes - OF COURSE I WATCHED IT!!! (mom, too!)

Journeyman - It didn't really hook me...

I am going to take a look at The Big Bang Theory right now, and see what I think of it.

Reba - Ended earlier this year.
The Winx Club - Ended worldwide this Saturday, with a horrible finale that basically just said, "Watch the upcoming movie to see the rest! Sucks to be you!"

Big Bang Theory seemed like it was trying too hard...

"See, these guys are geeks, nerds, and losers, and if you don't believe us, we'll give you even more stilted nerdy dialogue!"

It didn't really hold my interest...

=====

Now Reaper, on the other hand, seems like it might be kind of interesting. It was executive produced and the first episode was directed by Kevin Smith, of Clerks fame...

Basically a slacker finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born... The debt comes due on his 21st birthday, so he is saddled with the job of hunting down escaped souls from hell...

...
I went on vacation with my mother last year and we watched Criminal Minds a couple of times and I had the same comments. They had one character who was supposed to be the nerd of the bunch and he came off like he was trying to act like a nerd rather than he actually was one.

Here are mine:

On the Air (as new shows):
-Family Guy
-Spongebob Squarepants (but new episodes aren't so good)
-Robot Chicken...that's it. I really don't like what's on TV now that is new.

Off the Air:
-Mystery Science Theater 3000 (obviously)
-Murder, She Wrote
-The Muppet Show
-The Simpsons (when they made good episodes, which was a long time ago, besides, it should have been pulled off the air a while ago)
-Ducktales
-Darkwing Duck
-Gummi Bears
-Freakazoid
-Fairly Odd Parents
-Anamaniacs
-Disneland/Walt Disney Presents/The Wonderful World of Color

and that's all I can think of for now.

I'm seeing a lot of negativity about the show...

I will probably keep watching, although I'm wondering if it will be cancelled soon.

I also watched Kid Nation last night, and Life.

Kid Nation was really just another reality show, with kid exploitation added on...

Life seemed to be just another cop show, but it was kind of interesting.

I find it somewhat ironic that you talk about wanting "quality" TV in the "Family Guy vs. Simpsons" thread, but admit to watching Flavour of Love... probably the trashiest, tackiest and stupidest material ever aired over any public broadcast system on (I'm assuming) any planet occupying any level of reality in the Uni/Multiverse.

I've heard a lot of negativity about it as well, but honestly it wasn't that bad. I'm going to keep watching it for awhile and see what happens. It has my interest, for now.

I had no idea how obsessed I was with Sitcoms until I went to my sister's house the other day (we don't have cable :( Used to, but now I'm focusing on my studies and so my parents say it's a waste) but I watched TV1 all day (It's pretty much the Australian equivalent to a non-stop sitcom channel). Anyway I know what I want for Christmas now, haha, all these sitcoms are at the top of my list, I love them sooooooooooo much.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air- I saw them in a dvd store the other day for $17 each season (new) which is pretty good considering Australia's DVD costs.

Will & Grace- I went to America last year to buy tonnes of dvds, however our trip group hardly ever went to dvd stores :( I wanted to buy seasons 1-8 of this and came home empty handed, but thanks to Australia's ever-growing greed for commercialism and similarities to the U.S. I can finally get them for Christmas :D :D :D Plus they're only $24. 95 each season (again, that's great by AUS dollar) I'm so happy they've released them.

Friends- I'll wait for a price reduction, but WOW, I under-estimated this show. It's fantastic, my siblings are all 80's kids, so this show was like their bible, and they've been playing repeats of it every single night at 7pm (It's summer in Aus, so it's our ratings off-season) but I'm loving it.

Everybody Loves Raymond- Classic! Such a light-hearted show, you can pick up on the series and understand each character by just watching 1 episode, even if you don't know their names the scenarios are so relatable and funny.

I can't believe how much I loved sitcoms :P Soooooooooo excited for Christmas now. I find it strange though how people consider The Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy sitcoms (I know they're animated sitcoms but I've always seen them as cartoon comedies, I s'pose they are though when you think about how there's no continuity between episodes...still, I always thought of sitcoms as those shows with a laughing audience/canned laughter).

As for Seinfeld  well.....I know it's probably considered the greatest modern sitcom, but I never really got into it. My friends all love it, but the show about nothing targets me as a show about...nothing. Maybe I'd like it if I gave it ago. I used to say Grey's Anatomy was the worst show in the world and was completely unoriginal (then I saw Code Black, bought all 3 seasons, and now I'm obsessed and it's my favourite show, along with Heroes).

The Nanny is a good sitcom too, but I'd never buy it, it's still one of my favs though.

Does anyone else get really sad when sitcoms end? I know that sounds pathetic, but they are really, really sad, when you watch a series finale and you're like awwww :( Actually that's probably just me  :P I feel all alone, like my friends have died....LOL. Unless I watch it with a friend.
