well I've seen at a commercial at least 3 times for TS and TS2 and the double pack. Also I've seen a TS/TS2/Herbie: Fully Loaded trailer too.

Not that it did much good though. The abyssmal Crapagascar takes the top spot, whilst Herbie enters at 11.

Pathetic. It didnt even get to #40. Thats bad, very bad. With some good advertising and some pos (point of sale, posters, display stands in store etc) it could have gone top 10 easy. I thought at least the double pack would have been somewhere in the top 40.
Herbie entering at #11. not sure if thats good or not, the films actually really really good but again i felt the advertising lacked.

Kronks New Groove out monday......if that gets into the top 40, someone at Advertising needs to be sacked..........

Sorry but i disagree completely, I've seen tv commercials 4 times like i mentioned. Also woolworths, HMV, ASDA and Music Zone (well mine at least) all have posters for it.

I think the problem is that most people have it.

Don't forget both these films were massive sellers on VHS.

Also both have already been released on DVD, this time last year both of these titles were everywhere for as little as £5.99.

Apart from the single discs releases there was the Ultimate Toy Box and there was a previous TS/TS2 double pack, so loads of people already have it. And most people are not like you and me, they won't be willing to pay £17 for a DVD they already have, just because it has a bonus disc.

Lets not also forget that Christmas is around the corner; as has already been said, both have been out on DVD and were cheap for ages so the re-release isn't likely to be an essential purchase.

However it could be the kind of thing that people pop on their Christmas list or buy in the sales so lets not write the whole thing off just yet!

Chart for week ending 11/12/05

Well here's the main points. Herbie: Fully Loaded remaind the highest selling Disney DVD for the 2nd week running dropping only 4 places to 15. The 2 disc SEs of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 still don't make the top 40, neither does this week's new release Kronk's New Groove. Lost Season 1 part 1 is still clinging to the bottom half of the chart doing much better than most expected, and certainly better than Desperate Housewives. Cinderella and The Nightmare Before Christmas are still in the charts!

Yeah go Cinderella! :P

I was watching TV last night and a BBC1 advert for Christmas movies came on, one of which looked to be TS2 (may have been 1, but I remember the clips being from 2 so I don't think so).

Maybe parents will see this advert and think 'why spend £15 on a DVD, when it's on at Chrismas?' Or, they will test their kids to see if they like it before buying it. Or maybe none of these are at all related!

I bought both last week because I didn't already own them. If I'd already owned them I don't think I would have spent another £30 just for the extra discs. Although I might have been tempted at a later date if I found them and the price had come down considerably.

As for Toy Story 2 being on TV at christmas, I knew that before I bought it but I can see why that might have put other people off, especially when there are so many other DVD's out there to buy their kids.

Im glad Kronks New Groove didnt make top 40, it doesnt deserve it and i dont think it would be any good, it would most likely use past jokes in an atempt to create an "all new movie".

Im not surprised about Meet The Fockers, its pretty much £5 everywhere right now, looks like Shark Tale is back again
Though i can see in the next few weeks old dvds will enter the chart due to the sales right now, i gotta admit the sales are pretty darn good this year.

Im guessing next week Wedding Crashers will go #1.
