You know, we nominate our own [meaning the nominees in each category are chosen solely by the members of the corresponding branch of people who work/worked in that area], but then it goes out to the freakin' collective membership who have not a clue what anyone else does except their own shit. It shouldn't work like this. And yet I have a ballot, so I vote, you know?
He admitted he wasn't qualified to vote for most of the categories, but does so because that is the system the academy has put in place, and he's not going to work against that because he feels differently. He's just as critical as you.
He simply made the correct point that one very popular film somehow did not make the cut, yet two films that most members of the academy and the American population have no knowledge of did. Most members of this forum, who are animation nuts, haven't even seen them either. Many members of this forum also agree The Lego Movie was snubbed. Even the Annie Awards have a track record of ignoring foreign animated films.
