The sequel looks much better than the first one although that's not saying much considering how awful the original was.

Wait did the White Queen call the place Wonderland? I thought it was called Underland. But despite that bit of "huh", this movie does look much better than the first movie. At least I'll give Linda Woolverton some credit, at least she's not recycling the plot from the first movie.

Unlike the majority here, I think the sequel looks worse than the first. The production design, costumes, visual effects, etc. look great, but the story feels too simple and not very interesting to me. However, I have some faith in director James Bobin. I liked the Muppets and the sequel was also decent in my opinion, so I still have hopes it will be better than it looks.

"Too simple"? Whenever was a time traveling story simple in a movie?

I was referring to the main plot of the film. It seems the mission this time is just saving the Mad Hatter, and incidentally, saving Underland again. But I now it involves time travelling and has lots of characters and subplots, so it isn't going to be so simple. And on second thought, the problem for me is not that it's too simple, but that I find the plot about rescuing a character not very imaginative. Another reason the trailers didn’t make me too interested in the film is that they only show the adventure part and not much about the emotional side or the character’s personal conflicts, apart from showing Alice in an asylum at the beginning.

Awesome video even if it is just a minute and 38 seconds long. I think when it comes to story it looks like to me that it will become a bit more than just saving the Hatter (who looks bed-ridden and seemingly unconscious) it also has a journey though time itself to figure out why everyone is the way they are in the present while finding out about the Hatter's past. Isn't it interesting that the film is both a sequel and a prequel?

Interesting. Since Iracebeth and Mirana are the only things I really enjoyed about the first movie outside the visuals, I'm glad this movie will be pretty heavily focused on them. I'm also glad we'll get to see how Iracebeth got her huge head. lol

I didn’t like the time travel theme at first because it makes the film deviate a bit too much from the books, but on the other hand, making time a character is an original idea and, yes, finding out about the characters’ past could be interesting. We’ll see. One positive thing I do see is that it looks funnier than the first film (at least the trailers give me that impression) and less a “Narnia” type of film. I love the Narnia movies, by the way, but transforming the story of Alice into that type of fantasy film was a mistake in my opinion.

The small stuff that does give something interesting to me is that. Warning you of Spoilers!

Time is actually not a villain, but a powerful being who wants to do his job without anyone interfering which gives it a sort of grey area that I don't think writer Linda Woolverton has done as of yet for a major male character.

There's more to the White Queen and the Red Queen than some would expect which hurrah, I would love more of them too.

And

The climax which is a powerful time rust which freezes the entire world of Underland is a way better one than the first movie ever was.

Plus the official novelization has been released for a while, has anyone here read it? I would love to hear some thoughts.

The clip was funny. So the Hatter we'll see the most part of the movie is the one from the past, right?

By the way, the track list of the soundtrack has been released:

Yes that is the Hatter from the past but I think his present day counterpart will be active in the middle of the film. Plus those soundtrack titles are pretty much minor spoiler territory.

OK. Now that I've seen the trailer again I noticed you can know which is which each time because of the hair. The young Hatter has his hair down and the other has his hair up.

By the way, I think I saw the following special advance of the film posted here, but as I don't see it here anymore, I post it again:

Nice trailer, can't wait to see it. It'll be cool if it can hit number 1 for that weekend against X-Men, which I think is possible, because people could be underestimating it.

Here's the music video of P!nk's original song for the film, "Just Like Fire":

This is not the first video of the song that has been released. First they released the song with some graphics with characters from the film, then a lyric video, and now the actual music video. The song is not bad, but I'd rather listen to the other song P!nk recorded for the film, the cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit". We only heard some bits of it in one trailer, but not the full song yet. I wonder if they will release it or not, because it isn't part of the soundtrack tracklist that was recently revealed.

Also, if anyone's interested, you can see the European press conference in its entirety here:

Love it!!! P!nk's songs were always among my favorites, and this one is no exception. I have grown fond of the original, although I think it's far from perfect, so I think I'll go see this one, in IMAX. I saw the trailer when I went to see The Jungle Book, and it looked pretty amazing. Visually, I think it's superior to the original.

I saw a preview of the music video for Pink's song last night during The Voice, and it's okay. I didn't like Pink's last album and this is more of the same.
