She looks like Lady Tremain crossed with Helga Sinclair. But that snowman... I kind of couldn't take it seriously. What, is it like her henchman or something? Why does she look so pensive? No matter the reason, that snowman looks very, very concerned. Can anyone figure out what's happening?

I think that in the beginning pictures you see Kay and Gerda walking into the woods, the camera pans out and then you see a giant sled with giant reindeers pulling the snowqueen with her henchmen a snowman and an army ready to go and capture Kay and Gerda and the Queen has a conversation and explaining her plans to the snowman... But what they are saying is anyone's guess I think

OK, I think you posted that in the wrong thread, Disney's Divinity. Did you mean to pu that in the Rapunzel thread?

But, I'd just like to point out that the Beast wasn't really a villain. He was good at his core, but he didn't know how to properly express his emotions, and was prone to angry outbursts, rudeness, and seeming like a bad guy.

I'm glad that Snow Queen is scrapped. I hate the design of that Snow Queen. Look ugly. those snowmen are also annoying looking and don't seems like serious henchmen.

I actually liked the snow man, even though I think having snow men would make TSQ less serious. I don't know, it kind of reminded me of the facial expressions of the Grand Duke in Don Bluth's Rock-A-Doodle.

The snowman probably be ok if it was one of the characters Gerda meets on her quest to bring back Kai. But it just doesn't seem a good idea of him as some goofy villain sidekick plus a whole fricken army of snowmen.

As I said before, that design of Snow Queen is absolutely horrible. I didn't even know if that was snow queen or not at first glance until Robster confirm so. Those concept design are WAY better designs than one in storyboard.

Since those were storyboards, I highly doubt that those designs were anywhere near final.

They probably weren't. I'm not denying or stating that. Just saying that I prefer those concepts ideas of Snow Queen over the one shown in the storyboard. More likely than not, they won't be using this storyboard concept so there really is no worry.

Btw, that Snow Queen design in that storyboard I posted seems similar to this concept drawing by Harald Siepermann, who did a LOT of concept artwork for the previous version of Snow Queen:

I know that this was just a rumour that this film was back in the works, but I was really excited for it. On the Rapunzel thread I posted a website that claims that they're changing the name (which looks like its happening), but I'll post the website again for another reason. A lot of Disney animators have their own discussions on this website and I read something that worried me:

http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/ ... h-hat.html
I'm not asking for people's opinions on the matter. I know the general consensus that 2D is dead. I understand it. I'm asking what someone else has since asked: What is the ACTUAL future of it at Disney. As in, is there anything planned after Pooh? I know Snow Queen is supposed to be hand drawn, but someone up top has said that "Snow Princess" (which I'm assuming is Snow Queen) has been shelved. Is there truth to that? Are there any other 2D movies on the slate? I'm not necessarily asking for names or anything, because I understand that certain information is not allowed to be discussed. But simply, is there more 2D in the works at Disney after Winnie the Pooh?

Thanks again

Yes.

Not yet.
Does this mean its shelved once again!!!!!!! PS I know its none of my business to look at the comments, but I like to read them just to see the status at Disney.

If it is indeed shelved and no more 2D features are coming out of Disney then all my faith in Lasseter and co has DROPPED to ZERO! It seems like they expected PATF to get them up there again in one go. They seem to be forgetting that Disney has an image problem and it'll take a few good movies to turn that around. They need to stick with it and make good movies, regardless of the technique, otherwise all the stories Lasseter and co have been feeding us have been bullshit and I'll start petitions and stuff to get some justification. This will not do!

I would be incredibly saddened by this news; after finally having read The Snow Queen, I've been really looking forward to a 2D Disney film based on it.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised. Disney's become incredibly insatiable, and I don't think TP&TF made enough to assure them of 2D animation's lucrativeness. I'd hate to think Rapunzel is the future; all I can say is I won't continue seeing their animated films if it is (and considering most of their live-action ones are crap, that means I would be pretty much done with Disney's future efforts). Unless 3D animation actually starts to look good, which could take a while.

I completely agree. I still think that we need to see how Rapunzel does, though- if Rapunzel does way better than TP&tF, then Disney will be more likely to say that TP&tF didn't do that well () due to it being 2D, but if Rapunzel doesn't do well, then Disney might chalk up both films' performances to them being princess films (which wouldn't boast well for The Snow Queen).

If it is Lasseter who is behind this, then the consiracy theorist in me is thinking, he wants Disney Animation to be no more so Pixar can be the only animation coming out of Disney. It may not be true, but I can't help but think it.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel apparently is aimed more at boys than TP&tF is. Saying that, maybe Disney should try an Atlantis/Treasure Planet-type film soon. (But Amy, those films were box-office bombs! Why would Disney go that route?!?) Okay, then at least an Emperor's New Groove-type film. Really, I say have people working on Pooh right now and come out with a more boy-centric animated film (traditionally-animated film). Really. I'd say, especially if it's having problems, hold of on The Snow Queen for a while, rework it if needed, and come up with a story that centers on a boy!!! Really. Didn't Chicken Little do well? I know that that's CGI, but still, it's a boy-centric film. Really, come up with a film that doesn't have a female in the lead role. (Or does Disney think that feminists will eat them alive if they don't have a female lead?!?) Really, come up with something that is aimed at boys...I mean, sure, include things for the girls, too (but did the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie have anything aimed at girls? I mean, I haven't seen either film, but I know that the Chipettes are in the new one...)

Don't just do one genre of film and say, oops, it didn't do well ( Wait for the freaking home video releases, people!), without seeing if other genres will do better.
