I wouldn't say BATB is that popular here in the UK, when I talk to many kids my age (14), hardly any have seen BATB and none of them name it as their favourite.

All of this is, of course, not adjusting for inflation.
Adjusted for inflation, BATB outgrosses Tarzan, but even ignoring that, Tarzan has not quite stood the test of time as successfully as BATB. It's a rather forgettable movie. BATB will most likely keep bringing in good money for Disney because it's much more popular.

OK, this guy knows NOTHING about the movie...

First, the 3D movie was in production long before the 3D fad exploded with Avatar.

Second, he blames PIXAR? Disney has been doing 3D since CHICKEN LITTLE, which at the time the Pixar contract was about to expire, which means that had the deal not gone through DISNEY WOULD HAVE PUSHED 3D ANYWAY!

Finally, only a few people have been able to see the movie in 3D, and it was only ONE scene! Disney is still working on the movie so there's no way that he knows that the 3D HURTS THE OVERALL FILM!

Seriously, it looks as if he just heard about it and decided to rant about it without doing a little investigation.

The heck...why is everyone else getting it before the US? We're the spoiled ones, we should be getting first.

Well I'm pretty sure if it was September than one of the big cinema chains would have it on their website. The only one that's got it is Odeon, with a release date of 25/6/2010

Beauty pushed back, in the USA at least, to 2012 at the earliest.

I'm not exactly in a hurry to buy a 3D TV, so pushing the release back in order to make sure consumers are ready embrace the technology is disappointing.

I was on Box Office Mojo, and it says 2011.
Box Office Mojo wrote:More impactful than the minor Monsters Inc. 2 change, though, was Disney's removal of newt and Beauty and the Beast (3D) from the schedule. Pixar's newt was previously dated Summer 2012, though it shouldn't come as a surprise that it's been removed considering Pixar already has Brave slated for June 15, 2012. Beauty and the Beast (3D) had been set for release sometime in 2011.

Ugghh! so lame. Why does it matter if theres a gap between the theatrical release and 3d blu rays? 3D re releases can only help speed up the process of the public wanting more 3D home releaes. it was bad enough it got delayed the first time, but again? the conversion is done is it not?

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D and Pixar’s NEWT Officially Off Disney’s Release Schedule
The most frustrating change is Beauty and the Beast 3D being pushed from 2011 to completely off the schedule. The film was originally set to come out this past Valentine’s Day. Heat Vision reports that the release has been moved to 2012 (or later) so that there will be more 3D TVs in homes when the movie finally hits theaters.

Well i'm still certain that Australia will have screenings of Beauty and the Beast in 3D late August/September. For one hoyts.com.au have tickets already for pre-sale.

Not to mention www.classification.gov.au has already classified Beauty and the Beast Special 3D Edition.

So I'm still hopefuly... Just a little bit... =D
