Is this where the Chipmunks play and sing on Walt's desk, using the curved stamp as a rocking horse? THAT would be nice to have!!

That clip came from "The Mis-Adventures of Chip & Dale" which was from a TV show called "Walt Disney Presents" back in the late 50's. The song was later included on the LP "Donald Duck & His Friends" on the Disneyland label (DQ-1212) with the shorter version of the "Chip & Dale" song.

"The Chronological Donald - Vol. 4" also has the late Donald shorts from the early 60's including "Donald and the Wheel", "Donald in Mathmagic Land", an educational short when it was originally shown in schools where people does math class and of course "The Litterbug".

I hope that the Donald Duck short "The Litterbug" would be a great fit for volume 4, because HbVideos has the awful 16mm print of that film on YouTube, but I'm going to link the entire cartoon, but I would like to see the restoration print of the same cartoon on volume 4.

Thank you...that makes more sense now. Does anyone know how these "educational" releases can be obtained. Surely, someone must be able to get them through a friend or relative who is in the education business, right? How would that teacher or librarian go about it?
I'd go ahead and order it through the website.

As a beginning educator it's nice that they offer these but they are usually overpriced. I know, teachers have lots of money, let's gouge them. Seriously, I wonder who thinks up these things.

I suppose educational releases are supposed to be paid for by schools, not by the teachers themselves. And if they're expensive I suppose that's because they're sold with the right to be shown to a larger audience.

You'd be surprised at the stuff that teachers end up purchasing because a school won't or can't due to budgetary reasons.

As a general rule, we try to limit spending for school supplies to no more than 25% of our total salary. (Gotta love "No Child Left a Dime"!)

I apologize if this has already been discussed but can someone explain to me why Bee at the Beach is in the Vault section? All the others I got but I just watched it twice and cant see anything.

Re: "Bee at the Beach" being in the Vault section

I wasn't sure myself and so checked some reviews...seems like no one really knows why but most speculate that it might be due to the level of aggression and violence between Donald, the bee, and the sharks (does it really go that far beyond standard Disney cartoon violence? I don't recall.). But there are a couple other theories too - 1) someone claimed the depiction of the sharks was perceived as anti-Semitic (really?! if so, it went over my head); and 2) another said there's a part where Donald could be easily misinterpreted as saying "G-d D*mn" (as if Donald can't be misinterpreted in every cartoon?!).

I think Disney selling Pirates of the Caribbean-themed noose earrings is a lot worse than anything in that cartoon.

Well, I hope the Treasures continue, or at least the Legacy line. Would love to see the "People and Places" series, as I enjoyed the "Disneyland USA" piece that was with the DISNEYLAND Treasure (to be frank I enjoyed it better than the main documentary).

Most of all I'd like to see a complete GALLEGHER set, especially now after the passing of Harvey Korman.

I'd love to see the animated material from the old DISNEYLAND/WORLD OF COLOR shows, but I'd also love to see the kids' movies, like the two Alvin Fernalds, TASTE OF MELON, etc. I'd also love a release of HIGH FLYING SPY with Darren McGavin and Stuart Whitman. My favorites, though, were always the animal stories and I'd love to see packages like this:

DISNEY DOGS COLLECTION:
"Greta the Misfit Greyhound"
"Little Dog Lost"
"Little Shepherd Dog of Catalina"
"Boomerang, Dog of Many Talents"
"Three on the Run"
"Tale of the Two Gypsy Dogs", etc.

DISNEY HORSES COLLECTION:
"Run, Appaloosa, Run!"
"Stormy the Thoroughbred"
"Horse With the Flying Tail"
"The Tattooed Police Horse"
don't remember the title, story was about a Paso Fino horse
"El Blanco, the White Stallion," etc.

DISNEY WILDLIFE COLLECTION:
"Flash the Teenage Otter"
"Run, Light Buck, Run" (about a pronghorn)
"Legend of the Boy and the Eagle"
"The Wahoo Bobcat"
"Chico the Misunderstood Coyote"
"Yellowstone Cubs", etc.

Some updates

<a href="http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/walt-dis ... ml">Donald Volume 4<a>
In this final volume, our chronicle of Donald's solo-starring shorts wraps up with some of his rarely seen, feather ruffling adventures from 1951 through 1961. And, for the first time on DVD, Donald's CinemaScope cartoons are presented in their original widescreen format. This collection of classics includes two of Donald's Academy Award(R) nominated Best Shorts -- "Rugged Bear" (1953) and "No Hunting" (1955); a retrospective of Donald's career in comic books; and a storyboard presentation for an unproduced Donald Duck cartoon pitched by famed Disney animator Eric Goldberg. From bit player to superstar, Donald gave voice to the frustrations of everyone and in the process endeared himself to the world. Featuring exclusive introductions by film historian Leonard Maltin, this is a timeless collection from generations past for generations to come.

DVD BONUS FEATURES:
"Donald Goes To Press"
"The Unseen Donald Duck: Trouble Shooters"
"Working For Peanuts" Commentary By Leonard Maltin And Jerry Beck
"Grand Canyonscope" Audio Commentary By Leonard Maltin And Jerry Beck
Mouseworks Cartoons

<a href="http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/walt-dis ... 4.html">Dr Syn</a>
"Scarecrow! Scarecrow! The soldiers of the King feared his name!" And so began the hard-to-forget theme song to THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH. Walt Disney's thrilling three-part adventure was produced for his WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR weekly TV show and aired February 1964. Filled with action, drama and suspense, it follows the adventures of Dr. Christopher Syn -- brave priest by day, righter of wrongs by night. And, for the first time, presented in widescreen format on DVD. To make your experience even richer, there's a bounty of bonus material. Enjoy Walt Disney's TV introductions in widescreen. Then watch DR. SYN, ALIAS THE SCARECROW, the feature-length film created from the TV episodes for release in England. Discover the evolution of the Dr. Syn legend, from his origins in literature through Walt Disney's film version. And, finally, explore how and why Walt created a satellite studio in England in the 1950s. Featuring exclusive introductions by film historian Leonard Maltin, this is a timeless collection from generations past for generations to come.

DVD BONUS FEATURES:
Walt Disney TV Introductions In Widescreen
"Dr. Syn: The History Of The Legend"
"Walt Disney: From Burbank To London"

<a href="http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/walt-dis ... Annette</a>.
To legions of MICKEY MOUSE CLUB fans she was magic. Chosen by Walt himself as an original cast member, Annette soon became the most popular Mousketeer and was given a daily series of her own. Showcased here is the entire fish-out-of-water series, about an innocent girl from the country who moves to the suburbs to live with her well-to-do aunt and uncle. Airing during the third and final season of THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB, the 20-episode series was unlike earlier series -- it featured original music including the song that helped launch Annette's music career. Enriching this celebration of Annette are the two complete MICKEY MOUSE CLUB episodes that introduced and concluded the series, plus a new tribute to her remarkable career and more. Featuring exclusive introductions by film historian Leonard Maltin, this is a timeless collection from generations past for generations to come.

Thanks for the update, iccy! I'm definitely getting Donald V4 now (and kicking myself for not getting V3 sooner rather than later as all the b&m stores that used to stock them - and I'd always pass to get a Doctor Who DVD instead - have suddenly run out of the one or two copies they had in stock, and I'm not going to pay $60-$100 for it online...).

DR. SYN!!!!!! YA!!!!!!!

SO looking forward t that set now. TV intros in widescreen? Sounds odd but the featurettes sound good. Hopefully plenty of footage with Patrick will be included. Only wish Treasures would go Blu.

Annette set also seems to get better every time I hear about it.

I'm getting the Donald Vol 4, but it's the ANNETTE set that really has me pumped. I loved that story esp bitchy Laura played by the one and only Roberta Shore (hope there's an interview like she did for Shaggy Dog!) and I had a major crush on Tim Considine! I loved that whole '50s feel of the Annette serial and the songs!
