I just ordered Finding Nemo from the Disney Movie Club, it hasn't arrived yet, but it is on it's way.

I know this post is a few days old, but in case you haven't sent this back, I would do it now. It comes out here next month. Amazon has a release date of 3/16.
Oh yeah, I know - I've known about the U.S. release for a few months now. ~_^

Problem is - it's a foolscreen barebones edition, unsurprisingly enough. Add to that the horrendous cover art and the friggin' lavender keep case - yeah, I think I'll pass this one up. :headshake:

So I'm bent on getting myself the U.K. edition (a legit one this time ;)) - better cover art, 1.85:1 widescreen, surround sound, and a couple extras like the original trailer, character profiles, production notes and a stills gallery. Sounds kinda skimpy, but it's way more than you could hope for in a U.S. release. Just a sad testament to the way animation is treated in this convoluted culture... e_e

Bought Runaway Jury at Target last night. Pretty good flick. The ending is lacking though. I'd suggest a rental first.

Yesterday I bought the the Season 4 box of Futurama. I cannot believe they cancelled this great, great animated comedy. Never saw season 4 on tv here in The Netherlands but I had a long and VERY entertaining night last night watching all of those episodes back-to-back. Season 2 is still my favorite but 4 is almost just as excelent.

I now own all 4 seasons of this show and I am very happy about that. It's a shame that no new episodes will ever appear but at least I now have the 72 original shows to enjoy forever!

Ordered Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros from Amazon.com last night. There's a deal where you can get both for around $27. Not bad at all.

Well, I just this minute picked up my "Big Amazon Order" (TM and (c) 2099Net) which contains the following:

DVDs

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
Ellen Degeneres: Here and Now
Recess: Taking The Fifth Grade
American Wedding - Unrated: Limited Edition Gift Set
Comic Book: The Movie
Gigli (yes, I bought Gigli!)
Jeepers Creepers 2
American Splendor
Freddy Vs Jason
Mash: Season 5
Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (Prequel Pack)

Phew, lots of colons in those titles.

I also added in a few books, just to confuse the customs staff, and it appears to have worked (no duty to pay!). So here's the books in my Big Amazon Order

Heroes and Monsters: The Unofficial Companion to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic series, not the film)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Slayer Interruppted tbp
Looney Tunes: The Ultimate Visual Guide

Ha. Lots of colons there too. Must be the most overused item of punctuation in this post.

What, do they have a lot of blood and gore or something? Or does someone have colon cancer? I've never heard of colons making appearances in any of these titles.

Ok, two parcels just arrived on my doorstep.

One contained the Alien Quadrilogy, which I finally got from Canada at a really good price!

The other was a parcel from a kindly person (thanks Mark - I've sent you an email), who picked me up copies of:
Alice in Wonderland - Masterpiece Edition
Lion King 1.5
Sleeping Beauty : SE (US version)

More to do on my busy weekend that involves seeing David Bowie tonight (!!!) and A Perfect Circle on Saturday.

Heh, just noticed this forum today. This past month I got Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition and just last Tuesday (17th) I got Lion King 1 1/2! BVHE shipped my Hunchback on the 16th, so it should be here any day now :) !

It was funny when I first watched Alice b/c my brother didn't know I got it and I put the disc in b4 he came home. When he came home, I said, "Let's watch a movie" and I hit play and he was bewildered with some of the previews and was all "What's this? What are we watching?.......YOU GOT ALICE!"

hehe, I plan to do the same with Lion King 1 1/2

This week, I got "Gaslight," from 1944. With Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, Joseph Cotten, and Angela Lansbury. It's a thriller...suspense movie, where Ingrid's character falls for and marries a foreign man. But he slowly tries to drive her mad, to the point where she thinks she's losing her mind. Ingrid won the Oscar for it, and the film also won for its black and white art direction. I would give it three stars.

Other DVD's I've gotten this month: Lost in Translation, Titanic. And, also, Keeping Up Appearances (a British comedy), the last half of that show...and also the first two series of Ballykissangel (an Irish "dramedy" that reminds me of Northern Exposure, my favorite show, which will finally be coming to DVD in May!).

And that's it for February, for me.

Well my UK Best of the Muppets V3 came today - it features the Linda Carter, Diana Ross and Johnny Cash episodes, plus three Muppet Fairy Tales. The runtime is 2 1/2 hours.

It's odd, becasue I swear this was for a March release, just like the Muppet Movie box set I have on order. :? Could this be something to do with Disney and the Muppets after all?

Oh, and I've just found out A Muppet Family Christmas is already available for half the price I paid for it. :x
