Re: Disney's Enchanted
Just to get in on this which goes back to page 2 of this thread (it will take hours for me to catch up to page 8!) I have also contemplated whether or not she can be exalted to "Princess" status. I just adored this film, but it' hard to think of her as a princess because to me, she needs to be an animated character - she's human thru most of the film so it will be interesting to see if Disney can make her into a Princess. I am sure they would love to do so because of the franchise potential.Disney Duster wrote: Hmm...well, to be honest, I don't know if I can consider her an official Disney princess in my own mind, the one reason being because she's supposed to be a culmination of all the princesses before her (and she's not in a fully animated film).
The soundtrack is phenomenal - I got it for Xmas. Its great to see it in the theaters again but I don't know if I will go see it again or just wait to buy the DVD.

Well I just wanted to say that the soundtrack is fantastic - I played it on Valentine's day in the car on the way to work with a big smile on my face the whole way.... on another note, here in the Los Angeles area we are being hit by lots of commercials to go see the movie again, and I was thinking of doing just that tomorrow, however, its not playing anywhere around here, not even in the 16 theater Burbank AMC. Oh well. I guess we'll talk about the DVD when some news about it comes our way.

Apparantly, I have read that inside the UK Ratatooie (sorry, still can't spell it ...!) DVD, there is a poster advertising Enchanted coming to DVD, and it shows the UK cover being the animated / live action Giselle with the 'Enchanted' logo separating the two.
What do you guys think of that? The poster was very prominant in the UK, and I think its quite cool for being the cover, but it wouldnt be my first choice.
Here is the poster I mean:

No, it's not. This cover only has Giselle, in her wedding dress which is only present for about ten minutes or so. Animated Giselle looks almost nothing like Amy Adams. This poster's just missing too much.Ariel'sprince wrote:Why? this is actually better(at least here she's also animated, and it's not a re-used poster we've seen 1000 times).
I think, what'd be really cool would be a holographic cover (I think that's what they're called). Where if you tilt it to the left, it's the live-action pictures, and then tilt it to the right and it's the animated pictures. The only problem would be with Patrick Dempsey's. Hmm.
I think a reversible slip cover (like Hairspray) could be cool, with the animated peeps on one side....Vermin Friends wrote: I think, what'd be really cool would be a holographic cover (I think that's what they're called). I don't really care for that poster. The animated Giselle looks REALLY ugly. Amy Adams didn't look too great either, until they airbrushed her a lot.

I don't know how already said this, but I think Enchanted would work best with a 3-D cover. The current one isn't awful, but it's okay. My layout would be
ANIMATION:
Narissa overlooking the Walt Disney logo and Enchanted logo
Then, in a line from left to right
Prince Edward
Giselle in her wedding dress
Pip
the background would be Andalasia.
LIVE ACTION:
Narissa overlooking the Walt Disney logo and Enchanted logo
Then, in a line from left to right
Prince Edward
Giselle in her wedding dress
Robert with Pip on his shoulder
the background would be the New York skyline.
