Oh I see what you mean! It's the same type of dress but different color. I think Cinderella's golden dress is just her blue or silver dress but with extra frills and is gold.

Shhh...don't give them any ideas! :)

Well between Cindy's inflated, off model head, the off-model characters, film's title, and the "Three Enchanted Tales!" banner, I don't think they could fit the subtitle of "The Exact Same DVD You Purchased in 2002, Watched Once, and Threw Into A Box in the Attic Edition - With New Cover!" on the box...

Anyway, I'll probably buy this because I missed out on it the last time.

I agree. For the Princess Enchanted Dresses (Gold dresses) they took their normal dresses and made them gold and fancer.

Sorry that I don't have a bigger picture of the gold dress.

Cinderella II: Special Edition

Post by Disney Duster »

Atlanticaunderthesea is right, that picture has been used before on boxes pairing Cinderella's Platinum Edition with her first sequel. But she was also on Disney's Official Web site for Cinderella: Platinum Edition! It was used on the home page and on a wallpaper. It was specially done just for Cinderella's special edition DVD debut, but very rarely seen for some reason! I have a picture of what it looked like on the wall paper, sorry it's so small:
Image
The image on the left is the re-touched version of the pic on the right, the "Special Edition" version of that clipart, if you will. But I find it so funny that it was supposed to be a beautiful image for Cinderella's special edition, trying to improve on an image that came before it, but now in its re-uses, everyone thinks it's ugly!

But now I will show you a previous picture of a Special Edition release of the movie and the new version we're getting:

interesting. Thanks Disney Duster. I think the "new" cinderella is not as pretty as the old one. She just looks werid.

That clipart appears a lot in the Disney Princess marchandise,so it's wasn't seen first in the Cinderella PE website.

I still like the new cover...I like how all 3 stories are represented. The cover on the left, although I'm feeling the pink, just is kind of boring, IMO.

disney has just updated their website with the information on the dvd, but they haven't exactly made a homepage for its release yet or provide a link to it:

Those Cindy-II poses being commented on here are mostly stock poses which help identify the character, while some were redrawn (but usually in a similar pose - something that drove some Disney artists I knew crazy).

The gold dresses are, I suspect, part of the enchanted tales marketing arc. Again, the facial features and general poses are generally similar to those used before.

...and you'd be amazed how many people cannot tell the princesses apart.

I'm not! At my job, mother usually just refer to them as "the princesses".... Even my own mother, who watch all the film as many times as I did growning up can't keep track of them! She always gets Esmerelda confused with Jasmine!

Yeah,my cousion (she dosn't actually like the Princesses or saw the movies, she just like becouse i like it) allways get confused between Cinderella and Aurora, she also don't know Aurora's,Ariel's and Belle's real names (she call Aurora Sleeping Beauty, she calls Ariel The Little Mermaid and she calls Belle Beauty, she only know Snow White and Jasmine and yet,she have most of Ariel stuff).
A lot of people don't know what Aurora's name thanks to Disney who allways call her Sleeping Beauty in the marchandise.

That makes me upset- on a lot of Aurora dolls, the name says Sleeping Beauty. Who is making the decision to put Sleeping Beauty as the name of the character on the merchandise?!?! :x For some reason, it really bothers me. Have the people working for Disney not watched the movie?!?! No one calls her Sleeping Beauty- sure, there's a song called "Sleeping Beauty", but call her Aurora. Or even Briar Rose! Something other than Sleeping Beauty!

Agreed, they didn't the film? anyway they should call her Aurora.
Also they begin calling Ariel "The Little Mermaid",they really need to see the films.
It will be worse if we'll see Belle marchandise calling her "Beauty".

Are you talking about the Little Princesses dolls? I saw a commercial for Belle and noticed they had Cindy and Ariel but they just called her The Little Mermaid instead of her name.

BTW, those dolls are so darn cute, the Cindy one especially. I'm tempted to buy one for my niece just so I can play with it, lol. I would love to see a little cartoon series about them or something, so cute!

No,in all marchandise lately they call her "Sleeping Beauty",in dolls, albums, even in the Enchanted Tales trailer they said it's "Sleeping Beauty's first adventure since the classic film",even in the Enchanted Tales they called her Sleeping Beauty.
Yeah, they also started doing to same thing with Ariel, they don't call her Ariel, they call her The Little Mermaid, just don't tell me that they will call Belel "Beauty".
Those dolls are cute, actually i think that Ariel was the cutest,Cinderella,Pocahontas (they made her black) and Snow White were werid, they also have Alice and TinkerBell (but now the TinkerBell doll is in the Disney Fairies franchise insted).

The official trailer 4 this movie...
http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=3fJnO-_WyYM

About the name thing...I don't think they will name Belle ''Beauty'', because in some country's the movie is called ''Belle and the Beast''.
And about Ariel, It's just too sad..
