There's one problem... the trailer
isn't scored by Nicholas Hooper. It's a bunch of generic trailer music (some of it is a rearranged version of Hedwig's Theme) with "Hedwig's Theme" from
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone tacked in at the end. And since the Harry Potter films are very popular worldwide, it's practically mandatory that Hooper at least use Hedwig's Theme (but hopefully more themes than just that).
Speaking of the score for
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the guy who runs Soundtrack.Net, Dan Goldwasser, has said Hooper has recently finished recording the score for the film and that this week they're assembling it and mixing it. Goldwasser hopes to have footage (or a photo essay) from the scoring sessions up next week or so. And if we're extra lucky, maybe he got a podcast interview too.
BTW, Amazon has the original soundtrack for
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix up for preorder. It'll feature the original score by Nicholas Hooper, and it will be released on July 10, 2007 by Warner Sunset/Warner Bros. Records.
