Pixar/Disney have done it again!!! Brilliant is the best I can do for this film. Far and away the best that they have done. Story, color, editing, sound, you name it, there is nothing better on the screen at this time any where in the world.

Wall-E and EVE will be the next romantic couple to be everyone's favorite. I really think this will be box-office gold for Disney and it should be one of their top grossers for a long time.

My three-year-old grandson (who usually has the attention span of a minute) literally stared at the screen and took it all in, and cried when it was over. "I want more Wall-E" he said, "why can't they show some more". So, it looks like I will be taking him the theater again this Fourth of July weekend to see "Wall-E" again.

Young and old, this movie is the best there is, for now. Don't miss it!!!

:D

I hope Wall-E doesn't set the bar too high for future releases!

I will post a more in-depth review later...just want to say the attention to detail was mind boggling

Haha! I'm not sure if you're referring to the increased space on bluray disc or the fact that the last two Pixar films suddenly became pathetic, one-disc releases. I really hope Wall-E gets a nice DVD packed with special features (and by that I don't mean silly games).

Because the last 2 Pixar films got one-disc releases. And the fact that Disney movies in general now (besides the POTC films) tend to just get 1-disc releases now.

All in all, disappointing box office numbers considering 3 Pixar movies have out-grossed it opening-weekend wise.

And once word gets out of a mostly silent half hour and the 2nd half being a depressing apocalyptic themes along with a bunch of pro-green crap, I'm expecting a larger drop than Ratatouille. It won't even pass the $200 million dollar mark.

This movie is coming out next weekend where I'm from which is surprising coz it usually took ages for Ratatouille and Finding Nemo to get released.
Anyway I'm really looking forward to it.

I saw it last night (finally convinced my boyfriend to come with me!) and it was great. Wall-E and Eve are so cute together!

The story was great and I loved the way they pictured humans! The attention to details and the animation was amazing.

But I must admit I was expecting more silent parts. And I don't know why but I wasn't as excited as I was when I saw Nemo or The Incredibles in theaters! But I believe it's a movie you need to watch over and over again to be able to see everything (there are so many details!).

Anyway, it's a perfect movie to see in family! I wish I had kids last night, it would have been great! ;) There was a little girl (around 4 years old) in front of me and, even though it was around 11:00pm, she stayed awake all through the movie! It was cute!

It passed the 60 million mark! I have no doubt Wall-e can easily make 8 million more and pass 70. Plus, with Wanted as competition, it probably took some of Wall-e's gross.

I really don't get what's so bad about the beginning of Wall-e containing no dialogue. My little 8 year old cousin loved it when were shown a day in Wall-e's life. Then when EVE came he loved the movie so much more. He had a blast. If they were given real words to say, it would not have been the same.

It just goes to show how there are still people who are so closed minded about everything. They're used to a movie with characters speaking full sentences with each other that they can't take in Wall-e.

About the "green" themes, it's not the main idea of the movie. People are offended because they can relate to it. They finally see what direction America is going in and can see they are contributing to it. We can all see it happening now in public; everyone is constantly on their phones and buying more than they need.

You just don't know how to be a positive person, do you? You sound like a broken record, coming to spread your negative views, as always, where a Pixar film is concerned. The Box Office take for Wall-E is very good, and will continue to be. Word of mouth, as well as the reviews, are very positive for this film.

As far as "pro-green" crap, the environment has proven you wrong with your views that global warming doesn't exist. It's a proven fact that it does. You are just a young child that thinks he knows EVERYTHING, when in reality, you know very little.

Of course, if you knew what you were talking about, Wall-E isn't even really about global warming. It's message is about mass consumption, and the effect it can have in our lives, and our environment. I am sure you didn't even see the movie. You are just making an assumption about the movie based upon what you've read. If you have, then you completely didn't pay attention.

I just came back from seeing this and am astounded. It didn't just meet my expectations; it exceeded them. WALL-E and EVE have sky-rocketed to my favorite movie couples list. It's amazing how much this film conveys with so little dialogue (though I admit EVE spoke more than I expected her to). The story is so deceptively simple and thanks to that, ends up having enough room to be multi-layered. It's refreshing to see a movie that's not so bogged down with plot that it forgets to have fun with its characters. Perhaps it's because I'm still trying to process everything, but I'm having trouble coming up with any flaws. I'd say this is my 3rd favorite Pixar film after Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo. This baby's going to look amazing on Blu-Ray (the digital screening I attended was fantastic).

Oh, and did anyone notice the trailers have alternate takes of scenes in the film? The shot with WALL-E being blasted in the cockpit and then getting up is completely different, as is the captain looking up and shaking his fist at A113.

And Presto was great, by the way. Very, very clever gags to utilize the connection between the two magic hats. Who else loved that the opening title cards looked just like the ones for classic Disney shorts?

Also the way M-O and Wall-e introduced each other, or where they did. In the trailer it was when M-O caught the closing doors but in the movie they officially met in the room all the trash went to.

Dollar grosses don't mean squat when you're talking about the QUALITY of this film. It'll do good business on next weekend's holiday weekend (in spite of Hancock & other new releases). It should have some legs because of the quality but repeat business is just about dead in theatrical movies with dvd. People save the huge cost of going a second time nowadays since they know in 3-4 months they'll own it in their video library. BTW on Ebert & Roepers show they were talking about this being not only good enough for an Oscar nom for best animated picture but possibly Best Picture. If they didn't have an animated category it'd probably be a shoe in. I watched it Friday & Saturday & am counting the days to a (2DISC) dvd release. Don't screw with us with this one Disney/Pixar.

That's right! I actually noticed that while watching the movie. Dunno how I forgot about that one since it's pretty major. It's odd that there seems to be quite a bit of alternate and deleted footage for the film since that's usually handled in the storyboarding phase. I haven't heard much about any last-minute overhauls in production, so either: a) these bits were altered specifically to make the trailer more attention-grabbing, or b) Adamson just did a few nips and tucks during post production to perfect it. The M-O thing seems pretty major since it changes WALL-E's condition during the last act. Hmmm....

One last thing, when Wall-e sits scared in front of the "police" robots, I thought the way they did it in the trailer was much better than how they did it in the film. I remember laughing so hard for "Halt!" at the same time it gave a red hand, and not in the film when it was already red with a hand and then they said "Halt."

i've been thinking...it's quite clear that a majority of people are loving this movie and a lot of people have mentioned their anticipation for a really nice 2-disc set on DVD/Bluray... but that's the part that has me thinking a huge message in the film is obviously human consumption and it's effect on the earth so a 2-disc set... more plastic. (not only in the disc itself, but in the packaging) would kind of be a bit hypocritical.

that being said... the soundtrack was released with a digipack...i wonder if they will consider coming up with a unique packing for the DVD release...it would be a good time to switch to a more earth friendly packaging...and maybe disney could lead the way...less plastic... completely recyclable packaging... and no more slipcovers... it could be great !
