A NY theater played a film with a suicide in it instead of Chicken Little. Everyone went crazy.

I saw it yesterday. It wasn't bad..it was watchable, but it was far too quick-paced for me. The character design was nice, along with the 3D stuff, but it just wasn't my style. I prefer movies that are more..serious.

Oh, Isidour, according to Yahoo! Movies, Chicken Little also debuted at no.1 in Mexico as well.

I know,it had an excelent cast on the Dub like Kalimba(who made ten years ago the voice of simba), Xavier Lopez "Chabelo" and I think that Natalia Lafourcade or someother gal...

Dvdjunkie, they did passed one trailer(that unfortunately I haven´t found on the internet) of Bambi 2, at least here in Mexico.
It maked me wonder also, because they didn´t announced it would come as a DVD releaase, so maybe exist the posibility that Bambi 2 make its first appearance here on the theaters

Isidour, so they actually used a whole new set of voices for the dub? Really? Interesting. Will the Mexico dub be used throughout the rest of Latin America? Who else's voices were in it? Anyone famous from Mexico besides the ones you mentioned?

for the dub of Bambi, I really don´t know the names and I didn´t recognized any. But is shure that they´ll use new voices totally because any of them were the sames of the movie and many people of the original cast are very old, or in the case of Carlos Petrel, the Great Prince of the Forest, passed away long ago.

Both, mostly for CGI animated features. Disney has lost its touch, it needs the creative power of Pixar.

Just one more reason why I think the "Star Wars Movies in 3-D" will be a total waste of time.

Is this something that is in the works? I personally love a good 3D movie and Star Wars would be great in that format.

You may be right as far as CGI features go. There really isn't enough to judge their abilities in that arena yet; or at least not for me, as I haven't seen CL yet.

There's no denying the incredible creative power of Pixar, and it's reminiscent of (and inspired by) what was once found at Disney... not that long ago. I'm not at all prepared to hand animation over to Pixar on a silver platter, though, nor invite Pixar to be involved with every animated Disney outing. There is hope for Disney yet, and even traditional animation. Rapnuzel seems promising.

Well it's not like all the actors know Spanish or French to make the movie French or Spanish. So they bring in other actors who can speek Spanish or French( or whatever language) to dub over the original voice. It's kind of funny though because sometimes the voices don't follow their mouths so their mouths are closed and you still hear what they're saying. But hey they do a good job though so that's kept at a minimum.

I agree. But Disney needs Pixar's good films to balance out their own bad in-house films. Otherwise, their reputation dies, if it hasn't already. I see them more in the market for business instead of art. What they need is a balance of the two. They aren't alone in that folly, however. Just look at this year's summer films.

ILM converted Chicken Little over to 3D, so I am sure they are already working on Star Wars. Lucas was saying he'd like to release them in 3D for the 30th anniversary.

Let's also not forget the cost to transfer it to 3D. I understand that cost is about 7 million or so and they didn't do it until late in the game. Does the 60M$ or so of production costs include the 3D transfer?

Marketing costs are also amazingly high. With all the coverage they're trying to give this movie I'm sure it's crazy how much they're spending. I heard it was about 40M$ in marketing costs alone for the Cinderella DVD release. How much are they spending to promote a dying feature animation department and bring it back to life? Probabaly at least as much. I wouldn't be surprised if they needed to make 100M$ to recoup all of the costs of the film. Then, DVD, merchandising etc etc is all gravy.

Lets hope they didn't bet the bank.... I would think Disney would be smarter than to spend themselves into a precarious situation on one movie. they are making and putting out movies all year long and have seen alot of dismal results so I would think they are somewhat judicious on spending. In fact, I am thinking from just watching the last 3 releases (and you guys have watched far more movied than I go down the tubes or have very limited box office results) that they must somehow make the money on the back end - videos/DVDs? Otherwise they would have bankrupted long ago.

I have already seen "Chicken Little" four times and plan on seeing it at least once more before waiting for the DVD release.
