Now, when it comes to the new Frozen trailer, I kinda like it. It's much better than the Tangled trailers that's for sure, but no where near the trailers of the 1990s.

Hey everyone
also new here but anyway...
I actually quite liked the trailer, Anna seems like she'll be a great, funny character. I wish they'd shown Elsa more in the trailer but I'm kinda hoping we'll get the Japanese trailer in English soon.

You know those trolls look a little like the ones from Don Bluth's "A Troll In Central Park". It makes me wonder if some people on Disney sometimes create designs based on Bluth.Warm Regards wrote:I'm really digging that bottom concept art, though it looks like they're in Sugar Rush.disneyprincess11 wrote:CONCEPT ART FOR TROLLS

When I was reading the D23 magazine article on Frozen, I was quite happy to learn that Lisa Keene, a very talented artist, has worked with Michael Giaimo as a visual development artist on Frozen.
Now if only Lisa can be an art director of another Disney film...

Wow that was cool. I love the animation on Elsa's outfit and the way she powers her magic is really neat. Also don't worry Elsa fans, at least she isn't ignored in small promotion material.

So this popped up on my dash...

Also quick trivial question: this particular concept art...

Is Hans and Anna, yes?

Re: Frozen: Part IV
Lol at the gif.. just lol.. I couldn't believe that's in a disney movie!
It's what im going to show people from now on.. hehe..

Ok.. I'm going to be seriously pissed if all of that concept art isn't in the Art of Frozen book. It's one of the best I have ever seen! Especially with all the patterns on the walls.
As for the trailer. I like it. I mean, I am disappointed that we didn't get Elsa in trailer, but this is better than nothing..
One thing about the concept art though.. That picture of Elsa, Anna, Sven, and Kristoff in the forest... Do you guys think it's in the movie? why would they be in the forest? And notice that Anna no longer has that white hair. So We know it's an ending shot! Could it be when Elsa's conjures a cloud on Olaf??

Re: Frozen: Part IV
That doesn't look like concept art. It appears to be a still from the film. I assume it's from the ending considering that Anna's white streak is gone, Elsa is letting Anna touch her as well as smiling and the disappearance of the snow.taei wrote:

I don't know about you guys but I'm loving all of this Frozen stuff. I love all of the newly released stuff, when something major is released or leaked I get all excited. I love how this film has a young villain, in contrare to other Disney films which have elderly ones.
BTW, does anyone else get annoyed about all the constant and unnecissary posts on IMDB?
Also I live in Australia and the screening of Monsters University I saw didn't have the first teaser, this may have been my screening only but that may explain why the new trailer is infront of Planes early.

The posters there have good insight at times and that keeps me going back to the board but it is true that they are perhaps a little too obsessed with Elsa.TheBlibaBlob wrote:I don't know about you guys but I'm loving all of this Frozen stuff. On a completely different note, I find Elsa's neck to be a bit too long.
Anyway, apparently Kristoff is supposed to be of Saami descent:
perri @perrizzaa 20 Sep
@alittlejelee Oh, I've read that before! Super interesting!! So is Kristoff intended to be ethnically Saami in the movie?
Jennifer Lee @alittlejelee 20 Sep
@perrizzaa yupsie.
perri @perrizzaa 11h
@alittlejelee Is Kristoff the only Saami character in the movie?
Jennifer Lee @alittlejelee 10h
@perrizzaa Nope.
perri @perrizzaa 9h
@alittlejelee The reason I'm curious is because have heard that Anna's outfit is potentially Saami inspired.
Jennifer Lee @alittlejelee 7h
@perrizzaa Anna's clothing is more the bunad style with its rosemaling. Its origins are not specifically Sami but does have rural origins.

This trailer was definitively in better quality. I've been lukewarm to this movie, but I thought the trailer was actually enjoyable and showed some good shots.qindarka wrote:Someone else recorded the trailer and its in better quality:

Re: Frozen: Part IV
I'm obviously a fan of this movie and will be seeing it, probably opening night, if I can.
But I think my biggest problem with it, and that trailer just highlights these portions, is that I don't find the other leads appealing, apart from Elsa and formerly Hans, before learning of his heel turn, which I think lacks the motivation and backstory to make it interesting.
It's all there in the log line: "Fearless optimist Anna teams up with..."
Well, geez, if she's a "fearless optimist," then why am I supposed to be invested in her plight? She's facing wolves? Oh, no problem. She's "fearless," so she just bats them away with a guitar. She's facing Marshmallow? Again, no problem. She's "fearless," so she just berates him.
If she doesn't feel the menace, the threat, then I don't feel the threat to her as a viewer either.
Usually, when you describe a character in a log line, you present "strength-flaw," like "noble but withdrawn cop," or whatever. If you present the character as "strength-strength," it starts to feel like a Mary Sue.
Also, I'm disappointed with Kristoff in how he's being presented so far. I had high hopes for the character based on the initial poster description. I envisioned someone like a strong silent type, a gruff, Clint Eastwood/John Wayne loner misanthrope, per old Westerns, who is initially frustrated by being put into close quarters with a "dame" (to use the term from those old Westerns) but over time finds his facade cracking. This Kristoff seems very...pleasant, just a young California guy with a hot rod. ("Get your feet off the dash.")
I'm not writing off either of these characters. I know we're just going off a short trailer. And like I said, the film's got my money already. But this is the vibe I'm getting about them from the trailer.
That's another reason why I find Elsa to be the focal point. Not just because her story is so strong, but because I'm still looking for something to hook me in about the rest of the movie. And I haven't seen it -- yet. I'd rather the film just devote more time to (IMO) the more interesting and original character.
