This is a perfect trailer IMO:

Yeah, perfect at showing me that I still don't want to see Brave.

(However, I will grant you that it's a much better trailer, in terms of doing what a trailer is supposed to do, than the newest Frozen trailer.)

You know what is a perfect trailer? The Japanese trailer for Frozen is a perfect trailer. It's a masterpiece of a trailer for what looks like an amazing movie. That's the movie I want to see, a movie with that tone, that focus on characters with that weighting. It's what made me a fan of this film in the first place. And I know for a fact that I'm not alone in that.

If I'd never seen that Japanese trailer, and only seen the latest Frozen trailer, there's no chance, zero, that I'd ever want to watch Frozen.

And ironically, I didn't mind the humorous Tangled teaser.

Princess Elsa, I think choosing to not see a movie because of a trailer could lead to missing a lot of really good films. It's important to point out that the filmmakers rarely, if ever, have any involvement with how a movie is marketed, especially in the animation industry. It's always the marketing department that edits together the trailers, not the directors who have worked hard on that project for years. Trailers are edited to appeal to the widest possible demographic, not accurately represent the film.

I just watched again and it doesn't start at the very beginning of the trailer so there might be a little Elsa exposition that was cut off.

I love how feisty and awkward Anna is though! Everyone is so focused on Elsa but I'm glad Anna's personality was showcased in this trailer. I think she's going to be very popular.

This isn't Disney, so apologies, but this is an excellent example of a teaser trailer. Doing exactly what it says on the tin; teasing us of what's to come in the film rather than punching us in the face with the entire plot or all the 'best bits'.

I can really imagine this sort of trailer working eve so well for Frozen, if only would give it a try .... (much like they did in Japan).

I understand that Disney doesn't make good trailers anymore. I mean, look at the way the promoted The Princess and The Frog and how it finally turned out. Now look at what happened with Tangled.
I don't think the new trailer is that bad anyway, I was expecting something more focused on Olaf. And It finally focused on Anna.

Trailer is still available here:

If the link doesn't lead you to it, search for the page 'Elsa from Frozen' on Facebook and the trailer should be on one of the posts.

Downloaded the trailer as soon as it youtube. Just like I did the Chris Buck trailer last April. Over all, I think the trailer was very generic. This should have been released last June. In the trailer Anna talks to much/trys to be funny. The whole trailer revolves around her & her relationships with Kistoff/Hans. No Elsa, saving her for later. I did like Oaken's accent. And of course Olaf had a big presence. I overall didn't like it, but that's my opinion. Others do, so Disney clearly knew what it was doing with this 2 month marketing blizz. Another trailer should be out by the end of October I think, one month before release & hopefully, that trailer, Elsa will be the main focus. I would like that. The 1st trailer is about Anna & her goofiness & the 2nd is about Elsa & her drama.

And that's the movie you WILL see indeed. Don't worry. Who cares about clumsy trailers. That movie will be all about drama, grace, magic, depth and emotion, like we rarely saw in a Disney Movie. It's obvious from all the spoilers we saw...

There will be a lot of comedy as well. Yes, the trailer was edited in such a way as to present the film as a predominantly comedy-centric one but the scenes in question are still present in the film. For the most part anyway, have no idea at this point if they included scenes only for the trailer (I did notice some shots from the original Olaf-Sven trailer that probably isn't footage from the film).

That's what I'm hoping for. It could be amazing.

From your mouth to God's ear -- or that of Disney's marketing dept., anyway. Fingers crossed.

There are more than a few people who have been drawn to this film based precisely on the Elsa side of the story, and on the "drama, grace, magic, depth and emotion" that the Japanese trailer promised -- and yes, I'm one of them. If that side of the story were promoted more widely, it could only augment the potential viewership of the film.

True, good word of mouth helps after the film is released, but so much depends on that opening weekend.

After two weeks of not posting, this trailer appears. What do I think of it?It's not bad. It's just not convincing. It shows a lot of Anna (which is fine), but it doesn't refer to the plot strongly. Elsa has some footage, but it doesn't connect well to the fact that Anna really needs to find her. Anna does say "I need to find my sister" shit, but it doesn't tell us how really important it is to do so.So yeah, footage of Elsa being emotional or using her powers to drive Anna away would improve things.

IMO, Anna and Kristoff are not exactly like Rapunzel and Flynn. Rapunzel and Flynn chemistry = Rapunzel is hormonal while Flynn is a douche
Anna and Kristoff = Anna is impratical, but Kristoff knows how to get shit together.

I am also curious about this scene.

That jail cell actually looks awesome. (Elsa is queen after all.) But guys, please, whatever you do. Do NOT spoil theElsa and Hans confrontation in jail cell scenefor me.If I know how that scene plays out,I would know the whole movie.I know I can be lazy in censoring details, but that was regarding the pairings. Pairings are secondary. How *you know who* transforms is the big stuff.

I feel you. Someone on Tumblr just ruined the jail cell scene too. But, I do know how it plays out from the text. But, someone also ruined the Hans/Anna library scene for me too, so I pretty much know the whole ending now
