that write up is ridiculous. Facilier too scary? I found he wasn't scary enough. Disney says it themselves he's more fun house scary than actually frightening. He's more charming than threatening.

Death in Disney films are nothing new, Bambi, Fox and the Hound, the lion king, etc

And honestly, whats wrong with being scared? its perfectly healty to learn about death at an early age. And your never going to get something in the range of PG13 in a Disney animated movie, so I dont see how anyone can complain about them being too scary for children.

My problem with the movie is that the whole moral of the story is supposed to be that you need to work to make your dreams happen. yet when she does finally get her restaurant, it wasn't because of work at all. she married a prince and became wealthy.

If they think Facilier is too scary....then what are these guys? Booseome Buddies that you would love to invite into your home?























or if want to go extreme...these 3 stand out a lot











so....in my conclusioin....he's not as scary or is nothing more evil than from Past Disney Villains......in fact...he's the showstopper (no shawn michaels reference intended when mentioning the showstoper)the one and only Dr you don't want doing housecalls to your house is...your one and only Voo Doo Doc also called The Shadow man: Dr. Facilier

My problem with the movie is that the whole moral of the story is supposed to be that you need to work to make your dreams happen. yet when she does finally get her restaurant, it wasn't because of work at all. she married a prince and became wealthy.

But, notice that she gives the tin-cans full of tips to the real estate owner at the end and her and Naveen built the restaurant from scratch. Surely, they could have hired an entire construction crew to do that, if they had inherited the King of Maldonia's money.

But, yeah, I thought that article was ridiculous for criticising the film for its possible scariness. Most of Disney's works are scary and that's what gives them that edge and specialness. But, even more annoying are those sheep parents commenting below, who can't seem to think for themselves. I wonder what he would think of the '80s, a time when films like Ghostbusters, Gremlins and Beetlejuice were considered family fare.

Facilier doesn't have the menace of some of the past Disney Villains, he's more or less a trickster and swindler. Now what was more on the scary side were his shadow friends. Even at that, the kids at the theater I went to were never afraid or even intimidated. Why is it that everyone thinks kids are such cowards?

Well, to be fair, Naveen didn't get wealthy until he married her either. Besides, she more than worked enough to earn the building, only she was discriminated against (notice we never find out who this "other bidder" is, funnily enough--the thing's been sitting there collecting dust for 14-16 years and now somebody wants to buy it? Yeah, right).

Anyway, yeah, the shadow creatures were fairly scary, especially in theaters. But I thought the ending when he was dragged away was the creepiest part of the film.

'The Haunted Mansion' was scary? Did I even see the same movie as this guy? The ride itself can be scary depending on your age, but the movie was pretty tame.

EDIT 1: Also, I made the assumption that kids didn't like it because it wasn't a very good movie. (The Haunted Mansion, that is.)

That's kind of a cool idea actually. And if that was the case, all he would have needed to do was bluff to the real estate agents long enough to set things in motion. But Tiana wasn't all tangled up with the spell Naveen as cast under just yet; while he can see the future I doubt Facilier would have actually thought that far ahead . . . after all, he didn't see Naveen ecaping as a frog.

I still think the real estate agents were afraid Tiana wasn't going to be able to handle running the business and pay for the rest of the building even if she managed to make that down payment . . . they probably assumed she'd never even get as far as that and made up that other buyer in a panic when she said she had the money.

Fun Fact about Voo Doo Larry, Can't Conjur a thing for myself....

Easy...he used Voo Doo and either to the Real Estate Brothers...brainwash or made a deal IF they followed through....or blackmailed them, either that or the Facilier did voo doo with the cook...like persuaded him into it that he doesn't want the competition because Facilier tells the cook that hes struggling as it is...and the only thing keep the cook afloat.....is Tiana the waitress...just think about it...no Tiana....your the the waiter...

And Also Facilier did see Tiana when she got enough funds from Charlotte to getting her restraunt.....remember he was in the the cook's restraunt during the whole scene in the corner...he could have been told or foreseen someoen would interfere but didn't know who because he coudln't see that much....so he just put he pieces together about this girl could be the one that's supposedly to be my undoing...


Or....maybe its more simple than what we are all saying.....maybe Big Daddy bought it for Tiana as a present but wanted to surprise her....but didn't realize it would worry her so much.....

I always sort of thought that there was no other bidder. The Fenners just wanted to tell Tiana anything to keep her from getting that resturaunt, since they're racist and all.

Facilier's friends could have made the mill their H.Q. People being too scared to buy the place because of it being haunted would've been a great explaination as to why it's been abandoned for many years. That'd make things fun for Tiana! Find ways to turn human and de-haunt her mill.

I'm with the other people who say the Fenner Bros. made up a fake bidder.

Furthermore, her "rough night for tips" line might mean those cans only contain her tips, not her paychecks. She might have saved up a nice little nest egg for the renovation.

I watched the movie last night with a bunch of close friends. Maybe it was the late hour or that we were a bunch of giggly girls, but we all died laughing during the frog hunters scene. It never was funny to me before! I now some don't care for the scene, but without it the movie can be very depressing.
