I just hope the shorts will have the same quality of the movies (or, at least, have the same voice actors return for the shorts).

Since the first one will be theatrical, I assume it would be of feature length quality. even when it comes to the TV ones, expect the quality to be very good. Their not as limited as they were in the 90s when they made the Toy Story treats. voices are the only thing I would worry about. Im sure they'll be able to get most of them, the only exception being Tom Hanks, I expect they'll get his brother Jim as they usually do. though the theatrical short is a real possibility, since those are higher paying gigs.

Tim I can see coming back, he doesn't have much of a career any more, in contrast to when he had home improvement and didn't do Buzz lightyear of star command (beyond the movie) or the treats. He seems to voice him all the time these days.

i agree with those saying there should not be another movie. the way this one ended was perfect, truly the end of an era and the way it should be.
i loved the end of TS2, but it did leave the question of andy growing up and what would happen next, especially jessie and what she went through with emily.

i did find it interesting at the end that andy called jessie by her proper name and not bazooka jane like he did in ps2. [methinks google was his friend!]

Who needs Google, assuming her voice box worked I'm sure that would be enough to tell Andy her name. I'd be more curious about Bullseye, since he doesnt talk. But yeah, Google could be the answer for that one.

This past weekend, Toy Story 3 has become the biggest movie of 2010 and the biggest movie for Pixar passing Finding Nemo. It is also the 2nd biggest Animated movie behind Shrek 2.

good point! wish there was a list of their sayings. i dont trust the toys, even the collection toys, to be movie accurate when so few of their sayings were shown.

just thinking about the movie, it would have been nice to see a tagged up stinky pete hiding on the front of one of the rubbish trucks, lol.

Speaking of the toys' phrases (in-movie), I wonder what any of Jessie's phrases are. As far as I can remember we never hear any of her toy-phrases.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Tom Hanks on Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 4:

The Oscar-winning actor told the Daily Mirror that Disney had originally planned to send the sequel to 1995 hit Toy Story straight to DVD, and that it only reached the big screen after pressure from himself and Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear.

Tom, who voices cowboy Woody again in the upcoming third movie, said: "Tim and I and everybody else connected with it wanted to know why. We said it should be released as a film because it was magnificent and as good as the first one. Usually sequels are pale imitations and are slapped on video but this was really great.

"Eventually they bowed to some brand of common sense, so now we have Toy Story 3 and will there be a fourth Toy Story? Why not?"

The voice actors don't have much pull, that quote gives them too much credit in how they got TS2 to be a theatrical release. That happened because everyone involved thought it was too good to be a straight to video release.

With TS4 this isnt even a comparable situation, since as far as we know TS4 isnt happening, straight to video or otherwise.

And while I'm sure the voice actors would be thrilled to do TS4, I somehow dont see Pixar going there again, unless its a TV special or something where they can tell a prequel tale of sorts of stuff that happened in the past 11 years.

I think that a prequel is an intriguing idea...see what the toys were up to before they got to Andy (except for ones he got new, I guess... :p)

i wonder if the toy story sequels would have been as big had they been direct to video?
the disney sequels [lion king, aladdin etc] werent as big as they could have been [i love tlk2, but others dislike it] while others didnt succeed due to the time between movies and the lack of original character voices. [im a stickler for that and as such dont have many sequels in my collection. certainly not follow ons from cinderella etc.

a prequel would be neat! i would love to see where woody came from [whether he really was andy's fathers or some other relative] and maybe even see more of jessies background. i dont see how they could make something like that without it being corny though.

A prequel would be intresting, because knowing how long the toys have been around they must have had a very long past. Then maybe we would know how Bo and Wheezy were sold away too.

I think they should just stop where they ended. A prequel may be an interesting idea for a half hour short, but I really do not seeing it being dragged out to a full lenghth feature.

Don't get me wrong here. I liked all three of the Toy Story films, but I really think Pixar should try focusing more on original ideas instead of trying to milk their most successful franchises dry.

No. Go back to an original idea. Don't do the overkill on Toy Story, please!

I think perhaps A disney channel series of Toy Story Tales perhaps with thieir new owner Bonnie although that kinda screams Nickoldeon and Dreamworks Penguins of Madagascar or Barnyard....or I have another idea

they should make a cartoon(either CGI or 2d) version based off of Woody's Roundup show just upgrade it tiny bit like have new bad guys or something kinda likes Buzz got his owns series.that would I think pull the male demographic in more...like 5 or 10 year olds a......and they could even have a crossover where Buzz meets Woody and he really does crash land on earth in the wild west..??

idk just a couple of ideas I just thought of

Why not just leave the characters alone?! And come up with new characters and new stories.

That'd be like telling Disney to leave Mickey alone. I know Pixar has Luxo, but then again, its not really theirs to market, as we've seen from the lawsuit. the toy story gang is Pixar's most beloved characters, they will keep these characters alive in all sorts of ways.

Doubt we'll see more full length theatrical features, at the most tv specials done by their new Canadian studio. They were set up to start doing shorts using their existing properties, and eventually get to the point where they can make features. so this will be their chance to build up their talent.

By the way, here's a taste of what I think is to come from them. I can only specualte that they did this but your guess is as good as mine.

Toy Story 3

Post by Disney Duster »

The film was good, but I thought characters sometimes did things just to serve the plot. Like, why didn't the other toys believe Woody about Andy taking them to the attic? Why would they distrust Woody? Or Andy? After being with them for so long?

And I also thought some of it was extra dramatic and intense just to be so. And I thought certain things were too intense for children, mainly that the fire scene went on for too long. It's great for adults, but I would imagine children starting to breakdown and cry before the scene's over because it went on for so long. Also, the way the baby doll got treated. It's a baby!

Also, I wonder what will happen to these toys that live forever. What will happen after the little girl outgrows them? They'll be passed on from owner to owner until the end of the Earth? Or they die of oldness/destruction? They'll have to outlive all their beloved owners? Will they have so many owners they forget some? Will Andy be the owner they most loved, or could there be someone they love more later? I shudder at the thought, I want to believe it's Andy, as it should be.

Other than that, a great movie, and a great way to end the series...but these things...
