Aside from that horrible pop song that thankfully won't be in the final film, I like what I see. Of course, the film will be more about Rapunzel than Flynn, but I do like the scenes included, even if they are in the slapstick variety. Let's be honest here. I've started mis-trusting trailers lately, especially animated films and instead read between the lines nowadays.

will people please stop talking about how it doesn't look painterly (I can't even stomach that word anymore) the HD trailer looks fantastic and as visually dazzling as anything Pixar or Dreamworks have brought us recently.

short teaser. But it looks fun. The character animation is also pretty good. And Rapunzel's hair looks awesome.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. That first shot looked almost live-action to me.

Wow! I love it! It looks absolutely beautiful! And it looks like it might actually be funny, instead of forced/pseudo-funny (*cough*Shrek*cough). Her hair is just absolutely perfect, it must have taken so long to do with CG! And her dress is great, too! (I love her purple color scheme... It's always been sort of a neglected color among Disney Princesses, which is a shame, as it is so lovely.)

my God, way to misinterpret what I was saying there. It looks nothing like live action. Check out the HD screencap on the previous page. Does that look like live action to you?

I wish this would be the last thing I'd ever say on the matter but I doubt it will be.

I would have to say that at first glance, the shot of Flynn's back in the very first shot looks very much like live action. The rest doesn't, but that specific shot does.

I think it looks gorgeous, and I don't know people expected, but I think this is as "painterly" as anyone can expect from a computer at this point in the game. I hate the trailer, but it's made me that much more excited for the film!

I agree, completely. In fact when I first saw the clip, I wondered if it was some other trailer for a different movie because that scene with Flynn in the jail did not look animated to me.

It looks even more beautiful in HD!

I have a feeling a second trailer will come out in September/October and will emphasize the romantic and emotional aspects of the story. This is just a trailer to create a little buzz about the movie. It's the perfect kind of trailer to show before Toy Story 3.

OMG! So excited to come to work and see a tweet about this!

It looks awesome! I'm still annoyed that this trailer is all about Flynn. It's a damn musical Princess movie. Oh well, still really excited and loved the trailer! I'll be waiting for the girly/gay version....

After the brief clip we saw yesterday, I was a little concerned. I thought it looked like Tinker Bell's animation. After watching the trailer though, it does look gorgeous. I hate the trailer "She's been grounded LIKE... forever". Ugh. But I think and hope that's the fault of the marketing. The way she was moving into the light to approach Flynn was actually very graceful, and the movie will probably take itself more seriously.

The trailer is really amazing! But it looks like they don't want to show Gothel...yet. In the leaked trailer, she had a small role...here they didn't show her.

Also, I also think it's kinda strange that Rapunzel (the one whose fairytale this movie is based on in the first place) doesn't have ONE single line of dialogue in the trailer?!

Teaser looks great to me, as far as the animation goes. Clearly, the film is misrepresented in it, so I can't tell anything about the story, the characters, or Alan Menken's music. Would it really kill to put some music of the actual composer in a teaser, or trailer? But that's a gripe I have with movie trailers in general.
The animation looks absolutely great, though. Maybe not the painterly style Keane really wanted, but definitely more fluent than some of the other CG animation I've seen up to this.
Of course, I didn't need to see a teaser to make me wanting to see it, but it's nice to have some actual footage, instead of storyboards or animation tests.

Yeah, I was taken aback by that. I actually felt dumb. I was like "um, does Disney think we have a low IQ?"

The "Best Day Ever" is my favorite line so far!

Just showed my 8 year-old-sister the video and she laughed at all the funny parts. She even gasped when Rapunzel made her entrance.

But when I asked her watch she thought of the video she said "So." Then I asked her watch she meant, and with a really faux valley-girl accent she said, "It's not the good!".

I hope she said that because she knows I'm a Disney fanactic and want her to appreciate it, not because she genuinely didn't like it... I'm leaning more towards the first option. :P

There is really no point of putting that text in the trailer. If they want to emphasize Rapunzel's innoecence and naivety,Disney should show her mannerisms and behaviour patterns in the trailers.Everyone knows Flynn is a macho douche-bag,but they don't have to put a text saying,"He's a mega douche-bag."

... Wait a minute! Correct me if I'm wrong, but go back to the last page and look at that beautiful still of Rapunzel... Look very, very closely at the space between her nose and eyes.

Are those....

FRECKLES!?!?

OMGWTFBBQ!! Glen Keane got his Christmas wish! First Disney Princess with freckles, woohoo!
