Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Lol I know, we have a lot of similarities, but also a lot of differences. I wish it was the start of something beautiful...

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
I like the cover. It's very similar to the Legacy Collection. She was also drawn smiling on that one, and it looked pretty great. On this one, I still think she kinda looks like Snow White. The one thing I would've liked, beside a more serious look on her face, would've been her dress being drawn as if she was running.

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
I only noticed it now but they they switched the shoes. It was the right shoe that was left on the stairs while Cinderella kept the left shoe.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Tbh, I'm not sure I like this new cover much. Like, the idea is good but the execution is lacking. Cinderella herself looks strange: her face is off-model, her head is bigger and she looks shorter than in the film (I believe she's one of the tallest princesses) and the colors are off. She kind of looks as if she was styled after Disney female characters from the '90s, with a slightly larger head and smaller body frame.

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
THANK YOU for you opinions on this cover everyone! Loved reading them all!
HEY! Why haven't we gotten a release date yet?!!!
After looking at and thinking about it for a while, I LOVE the cover. It's one scene, with beautiful colors, and a beautiful pose. Just could be drawn more accurately is all I would need (and a horizontal title). This is my favorite Cinderella cover after the original Black Diamond VHS one. This one is so classic. UmbrellaFish is right, this is like the scene for the Cinderella tale, you know.
Sotiris, this cover I would think would please you a lot in that it is very simple, just one scene, and you tend to like that. Had it been drawn accurately and not have Cinderella stopping to pose and look at us with a smile, I would guess you would like it a lot?
Farerb, to be honest, when looking at the scene in the movie, the slipper doesn't look to different from this cover art except for the bow: Disney Screencaps Cinderella slipper scene

Sure. If, for example, it looked like this book cover but with her original dress and hairstyle, I would have been OK with it. Something like this storybook illustration.Disney Duster wrote:Sotiris, this cover I would think would please you a lot in that it is very simple, just one scene, and you tend to like that. I find the cover they went with just horrible, to be frank. Even this clipart would have made a better cover than what they chose.

Release date is June 25th (together with the 2015 remake release in 4K) according to the Canadian Best Buy listing.Disney Duster wrote:Why haven't we gotten a release date yet?!!!

Nice! I like the spine’s color. I see there’s no news about a potential 4K release.

And still no confirmation if this new version will have a new restoration or not.Sicoe Vlad wrote:Nice! I like the spine’s color. I see there’s no news about a potential 4K release.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Yeah. The DMC rep on Facebook has confirmed the new restoration, but now, after reading all the comments here, I have no idea what to believe anymore. I guess we'll just have to wait to see when the disc itself will be released. Or maybe the press release will confirm this.

How about contacting her again, and be more specific as to what you mean by "new restoration," as in, "with restored line art, and fixed colors"?Sicoe Vlad wrote:Yeah. Good idea. And I'll be sure to post her response here, so that we have concrete proof.

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Don't forget to provide proof through comparison images, like Lady Tremaine's hair highlights being the same color as her coat in one shot, and not in all other shots. Are they SURE it's all faithful to the original cel colors?Sicoe Vlad wrote:Good idea. And I'll be sure to post her response here, so that we have concrete proof.
Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection

Ok Sotiris, I get you. Did you see I came up with the film storybook as the steelbook and then coincidentally so did Disney's Divinity?
Thank you stevemcqueen! Glad to know the release date!

Even if the colors on the DVD and Blu-Ray ARE faithful to the original cels, they shouldn't have lines missing.

Or other missing details like fairy dust.
I forgot to say, I love that they say this is based on "the world's greatest fairy tale"!

Does the fact that the pre-order Lithograph has different colors than the same frame on the Diamond Edition give anyone hope?

Re: The Walt Disney Signature Collection
Looking at the lithograph, it actually looks like the same colors but brighter, and curiously I noticed some lines missing. It looks like they modified the scene for the lithograph, so that lithograph is very very most likely not what the film will look like.
