You should read their article on the Watchmen movie. It shows they have no brains. They're just as retarded as Miss Debbie Schlussel.Goliath wrote:Thank you so much for this post. Very enlightening. Yes, that front page with the immigrants says it all. The way you describe it, 'The Daily Mail' is the British equivalent of 'The New York Post'; would that be a correct assessment?

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I thought I'd go ahead and share the colored version here, probably won't be posting elsewhere for a week or so due to other work I need to complete:

I think I got some details wrong but it's hard to make sense from the handful of pics that have been released, lol. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

The Daily Mail is scum. Out of all the newspapers in the UK, even papers more concerned with celebrity rather than news such as The Sun or The Star, its the Daily Mail that has the most jokes made about it, because it's read by narrow minded idiots who don't realise the Daily Mail will print anything (never mind if it's true) just to scare their readers in a bigoted false sense of patriotic euphoria.
Before the Second World War, the Daily Mail actually supported the Nazi Party and other Facists you know...

Anyway...
As for Princess and the Frog, I'm surprised nobody from the UK has mentioned that Anika Noni Rose is currently viewable in The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency each Sunday night. It's a co-production with HBO, where it starts this weekend.

I don't know in which isolated area of The Netherlands you live, but *nobody* uses the word 'mulat'. The word that's commonly used among regular people is 'halfbloedje', which literally translates as 'half-blood'.BelleGirl wrote:Willy, you're right, the Dutch word is 'mulat'. 'Half-blood' is only used here when we talk about Harry Potter.

The Princess and the Frog
Mooky, you're drawing is amazing and beautiful, and looks as good as or better than what the Disney artists have shown for this film.
Enigmawing, yes, your drawing's great , too.
Chris, Simba3, Campbellz, Jeremy, Mooky, I love that the dress is green. It make her different and fits with the frogs. It's just that the lilly-padness was taken a little far.
Consider how Aurora has that vertical geometric pointy medieval renaissance style it keeps with the rest of the film. Snow White dress looks German, at least according to one person on here who saw a dress with sleeves like the ones it has, and the red drops and bow fit the details about her red lips. Tiana's dress can be green and have some lilly inspiration as part of the deatils of her tale, but still look a little more normal and like the other princesses and be something a princess of the 1920's New Orleans bayous might wear. Just something a little more...practical, realistic, like the other princesses.
Well, that's what I love talking about. Hope you got somethin' from it.

Her dress doesn't look less royal, just less traditionally like something a real princess might wear, like a Disney princess would wear. Argue all you want, the Disney artists looked at real things as inspiration for settings and costumes in all their films. So what is it that seperates Tiana? It's the lilly-padness. I think it needs a little less of that.xxhplinkxx wrote:I don't know how I feel about her green dress. I mean, I like it, I think it's cute, but I don't know about it being her main dress. I just feel that for the main dress she should have something a little more... royal looking? Just so that it doesn't seem so out of place among the other princesses. I mean, Ariel doesn't have a shell dress, Belle doesn't have a book dress, Snow doesn't have a well/dwarf dress... etc, etc. So I'm not sure if she should have her leaf dress be the main one.
I dunno, maybe it's just me?![]()

Your post confuses me... I can't tell if you like the dress or not.Disney Duster wrote:Her dress doesn't look less royal, just less traditionally like something a real princess might wear, like a Disney princess would wear. And, btw, I have no intention of "arguing all I want", I just was stating my opinion. I can care less which dress of hers Disney decides to use.

I live in the "Randstad", so much for "isolated area"Goliath wrote:I don't know in which isolated area of The Netherlands you live, but *nobody* uses the word 'mulat'. Just because *nobody* uses the word "mulat" this doesn't mean it doesn't exist in Dutch! F.Y.I: I learned it at school once.
By the way, some time ago there was an article in "Trouw", discussing the word 'mulat' in connection with Barack Obama. Maybe you can still look it up on the newspapers' website.
So you can see I'm not making things up!
And that's my last word on the subject.
