Re: Frozen: Part V
Okay so now that the soundtrack is out, I have a sneaking suspicion that the "Score Demos" on the second disc are not, in fact, demos... but are simply more of the score. A couple reasons for this - first, the quality is no different at all than the score tracks on the first disc. They don't sound at all like mock-ups or demos, they sound like actual finished score.
Second, if you put all the songs in order of how they appear in the film, you'll find that the "demos" fit in the gaps left on the first disc perfectly. Check it out (I've bolded songs that are on disc two):
Vuelie
Frozen Heart
Elsa and Anna - Score
The Trolls - Score
Do You Want to Build a Snowman?
Coronation Day - Score
For the First Time in Forever
Heimr Aradalr - Score
Queen Elsa of Arendelle - Score Demo
Winter's Waltz - Score
Hans - Score Demo
Love is an Open Door
Sorcery - Score
Royal Pursuit - Score
Let it Go
It Had to Be Snow - Score Demo
Oaken's Sauna - Score Demo
Reindeers Are Better Than People
Onward and Upward - Score
Wolves - Score
Meet Olaf - Score Demo
In Summer
Hand for Hans - Score Demo
Thin Air - Score Demo
The North Mountain - Score
We Were So Close - Score
For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)
Marshmallow Attack! - Score
Cliff Diving - Score Demo
Conceal, Don't Feel - Score
The Love Experts - Score Demo
Fixer Upper
Only An Act of True Love - Score
Summit Siege - Score
Elsa Imprisoned - Score Demo
Return to Arendelle - Score
Hans' Kiss - Score Demo
Treason - Score
Some People are Worth Melting For - Score
Whiteout - Score
The Great Thaw - Vuelie Reprise
Epilogue - Score
Let It Go - Credits
I mean, they line up perfectly - anybody that's seen the film care to attest to this? Am I making sense?

I'll tell you this:
Cliff Diving is not used in the movie, it's Marshamllow attack (?)
But.. Meet Olaf is in the movie.

Hmm, I suppose Cliff Diving could be the score for the test animation they did of that scene - the version with "That's no blizzard, that's my sister!" that was included on the Disney Animated app. In which case having a demo of it makes sense. But certainly the rest of them fit in, right?

Unfortunately, i won't be able to tell until I actually own the movie.

I wish we could "Life's too short" as a deleted scene with full orchestration and Idina and Kristen..
One could only hope.

Oh, I thought you had seen it! So, I'm thinking Cliff Diving might still be in there, because, there's definitely two distinct events in the film - first, they get chased down the mountain by Marshmallow, then they encounter him again as they're jumping off the cliff. So yeah, I'm thinking they were both in there.
Anyways, having just seen the film tonight I can say that I wasn't at all disappointed. I'll be looking forward to going again sometime this weekend. I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack since I got out of the showing.

Love this! Have there been released similar images (in high resolution) of Elsa, Hans, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven?Sky Syndrome wrote:I love the attention to details in animated films. Including the details that don't matter in the grand scheme of things but it's still great they're there. Look at one of Anna's dresses here. The embroidery designs could have been solid colors instead of individual threads with black fabric peeking out between them if the makers wanted.

Re: Frozen: Part V
I actually saw an extended commercial of Demi Levato's version a few days ago and I definitely have to disagree with the Ashman comparison. Overlooking Levato's awful vocals, the lyrics seem like a mix of "Almost There" and "When Will My Life Begin?"--the repetitiveness of the former, with a tad more of an emotional moment like the latter. I will reserve my judgment until I hear Menzel who could save the song (like Rose saved "Almost There" from being a complete failure), but so far not impressed.Musical Master wrote:Let it Go- I have heard this full song before and I still think that this is the best song in the entire film, where the music and lyrics are very personal and powerful, to the point (don't kill me when I say this please) where it sounds like a song that Howard Ashman would've written. I still love the orchestrations to this song and the WOC version is still good, if a bit overblown.
It may be a while before I get back to you though, because I plan to see Catching Fire this weekend, so Frozen will have to wait until I go back out, if I don't just wait for it to be released on DVD/Blu-ray (since The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be coming out in December, and I'd rather see that, too...).

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
Re: Frozen: Part V
Fyi, the lyrics in the film version are somewhat different than Demi's. The second verse and bridge are almost 100% different.

Re: Frozen: Part V
For people who have seen it, does it need to be seen in 3D ? Or is a normal 2D showing ok?
I thought for the lantern scene alone in Tangled it was worth the 3D ticket cost; just wondering if there are standout 'Oh my gosh this must be seen in 3D!" moments ….. ?

Re: Frozen: Part V
Disney's Divinity, I was talking about the film version with Idina Menzel's amazing performance, not the "meh" version of it with Levato which has different (and worse) lyrics to Let it Go. Well I still think Howard is that kind of a lyricist who uses the art of "personal feelings" in his best songs (the reason why Part of That World is the way it is). Let it Go (the movie's lyrics) is the song that is kind of like a coming out of a shell for a character (Elsa).Disney's Divinity wrote:I actually saw an extended commercial of Demi Levato's version a few days ago and I definitely have to disagree with the Ashman comparison.
