WOW! I'm so glad to see all of these Broadway people as the ensemble! I knew about Annaleigh, but Nikki and Rory?!

I think Disney broke a record for the most Broadway people in a Disney movie here!

I can't stop listening to Life's Too Short. I'm glad they went the route they did, but this is just such a fun song to listen to :p. I wonder what the final orchestration would sound like if it made it to the movie.

Now that I am more awake, I shall give my short thoughts on all the songs of Frozen.

WARNING! SPOILERS AHOY. :P

Frozen Heart- This song is very nice for starting the story and the chorus reminds me so much of Happy Roustabouts from Dumbo. The lyrics are nicely done and the orchestrations are very part of the Norway culture.

Do You Want to Build a Snowman- This is one the most emotional songs I have ever heard and Kristen Bell's performance on the last verse is very teary-eyed to listen to. Lovely music though it gets quite somber later on.

For the First Time in Forever- Tangled and TPATF failed on this kind of song of being interesting musically and lyrically, whereas with this one, this is HOW to do an "I Want" song. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel do a great job with the duet finale part of it, foreshadowing the later reprise.

Love is an Open Door- This is the first song which is very "ear-wormy". Sure it's silly and the lyrics are strange, but that's the point of it. I love the beat and the orchestrations to this "love" song and Santino and Kristen's performances really make this song really memorable.

Let it Go- I have heard this full song before and I still think that this is the best song in the entire film, where the music and lyrics are very personal and powerful, to the point (don't kill me when I say this please) where it sounds like a song that Howard Ashman would've written. I still love the orchestrations to this song and the WOC version is still good, if a bit overblown.

Reindeer's Are Better than People- A short song, but a very sweet one at the same time. Jonathan Groff's short performance is very lullaby and smoothing, his "reindeer voice" is halarious.

In Summer- A funny little song, this is where Robert and Kristen Lopez strike the funny parts of their talents and again, it reminds me a lot of a Howard Ashman comedy number. Josh Gad is adorable as always. :)

For the First Time in Forever reprise- Wow! This is a powerful reprise alright! :o Idina and Kristen have great chemestry during this song and the ending is quite striking.

Fixer Upper- Another "ear-wormy" song. This is the troll song where they try to "marry" Kristoff and Anna and it is really catchy, both from a music and lyric aspect. I love how it gets all crazy energetic at the very end by a gospel sounding chorus.

All in all, this is already a better film from the aspect of the songs. They are catchy, emotional, funny, and heart-warming and most importantly, memorable. Just 2 days, only 2 days left to go... Darn it! The wait is killing me. :P

I agree! Life's too short sounds funny. But still, did you realise that, from the songs we have of Anna and Elsa together we don't have a happy ending song. Not even in the outtakes. Life's too short ends with the sisters arguing, and Life's too short reprise is even sadder. For The First Time in Forever reprise ends with that powerful I CAN'T and Anna being hit. When I first heard there was a duet with the sisters, a For The First Time in forever reprise, I thought I would be a little bit more optimistic and about the sisters coming back together. I'm not saying I don't like the song, I love it, It's stunning, but another "happy ending" reprise or song would have been a lot better. That's actually a thing that was criticized, the movie stop being "that musical" towards the end.

I love the attention to details in animated films. Including the details that don't matter in the grand scheme of things but it's still great they're there. Look at one of Anna's dresses here. The embroidery designs could have been solid colors instead of individual threads with black fabric peeking out between them if the makers wanted.

This has been on my mind for a while: Do you guys think if Frozen does REALLY well, they'll announce GIANTS much earlier like early/mid next year? :o

Frozen so far has done well with top critics. However... I don't think that they will announce Giants because people will think "Ugh! Disney and fairytales for girls, blah blah"

And I honestly don't know if Frozen is going to do well. Catching Fire came out last week and no body knows about Frozen.

It's interesting to see if it'll succeed. I knew that it was going to do really good during it's early run on El Capitan cause I'm assuming that when all the Disney fans went to see it.

Just a hunch.

EDIT: Actually.. I've been tracking the popularity of Frozen on IMDB and it was 10% yesterday. Today it went up to 192%

Frozen will have a great opening, I'm sure, as there are no other big films opening this weekend and it seems, to the uninitiated, like inoffensive family fare. The good reviews should help a bit.

Not sure if it will have the staying power of Tangled, though.

Not sure what makes you think nobody knows about Frozen. Nobody knew about it two months ago, but since then it's been a non-stop marketing push. I think the people that would be going to see it most certainly know about it. Catching Fire is definitely a huge opponent, and I doubt Frozen will open at number one, but people at least know about it.

Variety said that Frozen should gross $70million from wed-sun. That would surpass the $68.7mil that Tangled grossed over it's first 5 days. If Frozen does Tangled-like numbers, than Giants is all but announced. Plus Tangled, Frozen & Giants are exactly 3 years apart from each other. 1 fairy-tale every 3 years, seems like WDAS new plan.

The Lopezes aren't done with Disney yet :D
The duo are not exclusive writing partners ("we're promiscuous only so far as work collaboration," says Anderson-Lopez). But they plan to continue working from their Brooklyn home on a yet-to-be announced Disney project and a stage production called Up Here.

Can't wait! Could it be Giants or Moana? :o

I hope it's both.

The songs in Frozen, while not as amazing as the classics, are very very good. I got the soundtrack this morning and I can't stop listening to it!

Actually, I can see a repeat of when Tangled came out the week after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I- Potter retained the #1 for the first week, while Tangled went to #1 the following.

For what it's worth, Bleeding Cool's Brendon Connelly, one of our most reliable sources of info on WDAS, has indicated that Giants may not be out until 2018.

That sounds right, as I didn't see WDAS releasing both Zootopia & Giants in 2016 together. But isn't Moana coming out in 2018? Will Moana be pushed up to 2017 or pushed back til 2019?

Sotiris ‏@sotiris2006 11 Nov
@brendonconnelly Do you know if Disney's upcoming "Giants" is going to be a musical?

Brendon Connelly ‏@brendonconnelly 11 Nov
@sotiris2006 It's way too early to know. The plan is to have songs but anything could change in the next five years.

Qindarka ‏@Qindarka 11 Nov
@brendonconnelly @sotiris2006 Five years? Isn't Giants slated for release in 2016?

Brendon Connelly ‏@brendonconnelly 11 Nov
@Qindarka @sotiris2006 It doesn't have an official release date and... I think you should expect in 2018. Honestly.

Sotiris ‏@sotiris2006 11 Nov
@brendonconnelly Does that mean Moana will get Giants' release date or that only Zootopia will be released in 2016?

Brendon Connelly ‏@brendonconnelly 11 Nov
@sotiris2006 Again, it's too early. But - and this is literally just an educated guess - we'll only get Zootopia in 2016.
Hope that was legible.
