The French and UK DVD covers are fine. The Blu-Ray main cover is also fine.

I wanted to ask if you have examples cause his other women are Ariel and Pocahontas and with Ariel it sort of makes sense, but Pocahontas not so much. Though I think it's also in his men too - Tarzan really comes to mind, but to a lesser extent Aladdin and Beast as well...Marce82 wrote:I blame Glen Keane for this one, he likes to draw women clumsily turning their feet inward. Best cover: 4K UHD. This film was lucky to have a sequel otherwise it would have gotten the same horrible covers as the other Revival films, which brings me to...
Worst Cover: Blu-ray 2. I have said my opinion regarding those on TPatF and Tangled. Same applies here.
The others are fine more or less but since I'm not really fond of Ralph, I didn't really put effort in checking them thoroughly.
P.S: the Mondo design doesn't fit this film at all.

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
It's interesting how the Japanese covers only feature the world of Sugar Rush (except the 4K UHD) and the first American releases show the famous video game characters, who only have cameos in the movie, quite prominently on the cover. I also noticed that most of the covers for the CG movies either recycle theatrical posters or use already existing clip art, they rarely create new art for the home video releases nowadays.
Here's my ranking:
1. 4K UHD: This is the coolest one in my opinion and I like that it features the three main video game worlds.
2. Blu-ray/DVD: I like Ralph's pose (even though I agree with Disney's Divinity that his face looks a bit odd here) and the way the logo is used.
3. 3D Blu-ray: Good poses and nice background.
4. Zavvi Steelbook: I also prefer its simplicity to Best Buy's version, though that one is nice too.
5. 4K UHD Best Buy Steelbook
6. DVD (Japan)
7. DVD (Brazil): It's cool how Ralph almost takes up the entire cover and has more or less the same rectangular shape as the cover itself.
8. Blu-ray (Japan)
9. 4K UHD (Japan): This one looks a bit cheap to me, but maybe they wanted to give it a retro feel and that's why it looks that way.
10. 2-Movie Collection (UK)
11. Mondo Steelbook from Zavvi
12. Blu-ray 2
13. Heroes Cover (France)
14. Villains Cover (UK)
15. Heroes Cover (UK): I don't like the way Ralph's arms have been cut out of the picture.

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Since the film got a sequel back in 2018, the first film was released in 4K few weeks before the theatrical release of the sequel and because of the sequel, Disney put effort in the 4K cover, unlike the covers of The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and Moana (the weird one color background and two characters clip arts). Frozen and The Incredibles were treated the same as Wreck-it Ralph because they got sequels as well (I know The Incredibles is Pixar but its cover doesn't look like the Pixar's 4K rereleases).D82 wrote:I didn't understand that sentence, could you explain it to me?farerb wrote:This film was lucky to have a sequel otherwise it would have gotten the same horrible covers as the other Revival films
Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Oh, OK. Thanks for the explanation. Yes, you're right; the film was lucky in that regard. Though eventually it got a cover in the style of the other 4K titles as well for the second Blu-ray release, right?farerb wrote:Since the film got a sequel back in 2018, the first film was released in 4K few weeks before the theatrical release of the sequel and because of the sequel, Disney put effort in the 4K cover, unlike the covers of The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and Moana (the weird one color background and two characters clip arts). Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Frozen
1. Collector's DVD Edition (Germany) - I like this one best beacuse not only does it have that epic journey feel, but it shows that the journey was really about Anna going to find her sister, as opposed to the Elsa posters turned covers, because Elsa was just trying to find herself, whereas Anna was trying to save her sister and the kingdom and really get the happy ending for every good person in the movie. The fact that it has the ice castle also represents Elsa.
2. Zavvi/Best Buy Steelbook 4K - Well, come on, this one just looks epic and awesome, and is the best one that uses this poster because the title is in the center of the cover, even if at the bottom. It screams "Disney Classic".
3. Zavvi Steelbook 3D - I like this one so much because it has all the elements of the film. The elegance, power, and epicness of Elsa and her palace, and the fun parts with the main characters.
4. Blu-ray - This is just a slightly less cool looking version of above.
5. Blu-ray (DMC Exclusive) - As I said before, so epic and awesome, just less so than the other use of this poster.
6. Blu-ray (Japan) - I really like this adventurous and well-composed look.
7. DVD (Korea) - Also pretty nice composition, I like them running from Marshmallow.
8. Zavvi Steelbook - Has all the main characters in the center, why not.
9. Zavvi Steelbook 3D Version 2 - Still an epic image of Elsa and the ice palace
10. Zavvi Steelbook - Again, an epic image of Elsa and the ice palace, just less cool than above.
11. Blu-ray (Canada) - I like the composition.
12. DVD (Canada) - It looks like Elsa is blasting an Anna and Kristoff running toward her.
13. 3D Blu-ray (UK) - One of the better compositions.
14. DVD

20. Mondo Steelbook
21. 3D Blu-ray (Korea) - Always hated this style for the poster, it's like the Tangled buried in hair one.
22. Disney Princess Cover (Australia) - I think this cover looks atrocious!

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Is this the only Disney film that has covers that don't have the protagonist on them? I know that the Heroes version of Beauty and the Beast don't have The Beast on them, but other than that?
1. Blu-ray (DMC Exclusive) and Zavvi/Best Buy Steelbook 4K - I like these kinds of teaser posters, it's so gorgeous that I don't even mind that Anna is not there.
2. Collector's DVD Edition (Germany) - seems ominous and intriguing I like it. Extra points for making it about Anna instead of Else.
3. Blu-ray (Canada) - the cover that best represents the film in my opinion. A story about sisters.
4. 3D Blu-ray (UK) - better composition than the US Blu-ray. They actually seem to be on an adventure instead of just stopping and taking a picture.
5. Sing-Along Edition DVD - represent the film well like the Canadian Blu-ray, but it looks better when Olaf is at the bottom and not with the sisters.
6. 4K UHD - I'm bothered by no Anna here, but otherwise the color are nice.
7. Zavvi Steelbook 3D Version 2 - isn't as good as the 4K because of the empty space at the bottom.
8. Blu-ray - it's fine, too much focus on Olaf.
9. Zavvi Steelbook - it works better than the DVD because of the background, but the characters are stiff.
10. DVD - seems childish and uninspired.
11. Zavvi Steelbook 3D - too much empty space.
12. Mondo Steelbook - something about this style just doesn't fit the CGI films.
13. DVD (Canada) - feels awkward.
14. Sing-Along Edition DVD (UK) - the kids version. No thanks. Like imagine a cover of The Hunchback of Notre Dame featuring only the Gargoyles.
15. Disney Princess Cover (Australia) - They all look as if they are the covers of coloring books.

1. Blu-ray (DMC Exclusive) ~ I rank this higher than #2, simply because the border makes the cover look nicer, imo.

3. Collector's DVD Edition (Germany)
4. Zavvi Steelbook
5. Blu-ray (Japan) ~ The characters look so much better here than those other clip art-esque poses they re-used multiple times (the eyebrows being the only things that seemed to change).

Re: Comparing Home Releases Cover Arts
Frozen Disney Princess cover is inspired from a still in the movie. The major thing I don't like about the cover is that Elsa's hair is to much yellow, more white hair and the cover would have been better.
