Here's some info on Encahnted on Blu-ray:
"Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the surprise hit 'Enchanted' to Blu-ray this Easter. Video will be presented in 2.35:1 1080p and audio will be 5.1 24-bit PCM. Extras include deleted scenes, bloopers, three behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a Blu-ray exclusive game called "D-Files"."
BTW, Easter is in March next year, so the March 11th release date mentioned earlier could be quite accurate.

Ok, sorry if this has been discussed (if so please send me the link to the right page of this 60-page thread), but has anyone noticed the similarities between this story (Enchanted) and Disney's recent DOM "Snowglobe" ???
In Snowglobe, the Snowglobe inhabitants come out into the real world - but they have to go back, because it is obvious there's no way they'd be happy living in the real world. In Enchanted, fairytale characters come out of the fairytale into the real world and then some get partially "transformed" (as Gizelle does when she starts to think that she has choices and insists on going on dates with Prince Edward) - transformed enough to enable her to be viable in the real world. So has anyone else noticed this similarity in plots? I loved Snowglobe. Its a cute movie.
Several of you have brought up the scenes about the chipmunk. I was very uncomfortable watching the poor thing getting tortured throughout most of the movie. I guess it was supposed to be funny, but I really hated it - it was hard to remember it was just a cartoon when you are believing in every other aspect of the film, right? So I found it to be more upsetting, than funny. Of course Disney tried to excuse all the violence against the chipmunk by having Gizelle comment, "Pip is very brave.... (etc. etc.)" Now the clothes hanger scene was definitely a reference to the crucifixion, and I don't know if the crucifixion is something that should be a subject of jokes. But I guess it depends on how broadminded you can be about this. It was obviously supposed to be funny and not offensive. I didn't see anyone reacting badly to it, but if I was Disney, I would have played it safe and not included that scene.
This movie tried to be a lot of different things- romantic, funny, etc.... The violent/slapstick/potty humor with the chipmunk didn't appeal to me, but I can live with it because the rest of the film was so outstanding. Still, I will buy this when it comes to DVD.
Oh yeah, and I just got an email that Enchanted has been extended at El Capitan through January 13th, further confirming my suspicions that Disney is very happy with the box office numbers. Disney also had a free employee showing earlier this month - something they usually don't do mid-stream when a picture is already out. Free showings are usually reserved only for blockbusters- so this is an indication the movie is doing very well.

You know these issues with the chipmunk are just being blown out of all proportion. The scene with Pip being hung on the clothes hanger has nothing more to do with crucifixion than all the past movies of people being thrown into dungeons and shackled by the hands. Were the hundreds of movies that depicted this kind of imprisonment also references to crucifixion? Absolutely NOT! You are trying to read some kind of Christian or even anti-Christian meaning into the scene. Unless someone from Disney makes an official statement as that being the case quit trying to second guess or read their intentions. Now if Pip had had nails driven into his wrists I might be more apt to agree with you but as it stands that is NOT the case. I have to say I felt for poor Pip during that scene but not once did I think that Disney intended or even implied crucifixion.
As for the poop scene it was so brief I hardly think it is worth all the fuss. Perhaps, when you all get your copy on DVD, you could rip it to your hard drives and make a copy you can edit out that particular scene, since it offends you so much, and burn a copy without it in there?
All I see here are complaints about really non-issues. Enchanted is one of the best films to come out of Disney studios in quite some time and it seems that no matter how much Disney gets things "right" there will always be those so-called fans who want to tell the world what they think Disney got "wrong".
