I wouldn't say add or detract. I would say REVIVE and make us understand how much we love the original. If you ask me, I 'll tell you that the more Ariel stuff you give to me, the more I want!!! (It's like the Batman movies, i think! :) )

If there had to be an addition to the original, I would say: REDRAW AND RECOLOUR THE WHOLE FILM!!! -the original, of course. And when I say redraw I'm talking about the clean-up animation. TLM has wonderful scetches, but the clean-up is so bad that makes it look old and tired. No difference compared to the old 60's or 70's Disney films!!! The quality is the same, which is a ...shame! See Aladdin!! Brilliant, fine lines. TLM deserves it!!

The Little Mermiad III

Post by Disney Duster »

The Little Mermaid II came very close to detracting from the original movie, because you see Ariel and Eric as parents. They aren't in burning love and romance anymore. It sort makes you think of the original and say, "What's the point of getting that Prince if he'll later become a bland father who stays in the background?" Hopefully The Little Mermaid III could change this or perhaps it could be a prequel like everyone is talking about.

But one HUGE question I must ask: If DisneyToon Studios in Australia is shutting down, who will be working on The Little Mermaid III?

Jim Hill talked to someone who said that after DisneyToon Studios in Australia closes, the 2-D animation will be done in places like Taipei, Tokyo, and Manila. Even though Jim Hill's source said they produce "high quality footage" for less money, will it be as good as Australia's animation?
