Eh...I still laugh when someone is not joking about it. It's just funnier when people are so naive. But it should blow over. We went on for 4 pages in that thread before getting back on topic.chaychay102royal wrote:Yeah, I know.Making jokes about slipcovers is fun, though, but I think any mention of slipcovers is getting on people's nerves whether or not it's a joke.
So to get back on topic, I'm glad Toy Story 2 special edition finally has a release date. Making it the day after Christmas is kinda wierd, though. I can't wait for a press release.

yeah when i posted that i missed the "pixar-less" part i wonder if it's going to be good i hope pixar ends up helping, disney does tend to have not-so-good sequelsPasta67 wrote:I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Remember, PIXAR isn't involved this time. And even if they were, I'd still be skeptical about it.rs_milo_whatever wrote:and now toy story 3!!!!!!!!!!! this is great!

I really hope PIXAR does end up helping with this, and I can't really see them not helping. If it were me, I know I wouldn't let someone else take my characters and movies and make a sequel without my help. Plus, if this doesn't do well, chances are PIXAR will get the bad reputation since people who don't know this is a PIXAR-less project (and that's going to be a lot of people, trust me) will blame them for it.rs_milo_whatever wrote:yeah when i posted that i missed the "pixar-less" part i wonder if it's going to be good i hope pixar ends up helping, disney does tend to have not-so-good sequels
P.S. I know I'm going off-topic with this, but we've pretty much talked about everything that could possibly be talked about in this topic concerning the info on the DVD we have so far (bonus features, cover art, new picture quality).

I'm going to get this when it comes out and I can't wait!

Well, the cover art's been revised. You can find a link to it on the main page. I, personally, prefer the other cover. I like the Andy's cloud wallpaper background better than the silver one, but the way the words and Woddy and Buzz are spread out makes the cover look empty. I think if they had stuck with the original layout but relaced the silver with the cloud wallpaper, then we'd have a great conglomeration.

WOW!!!! Toy Story artcover looks nice. I love to see Woody's and Buzz's body not only their heads.
Nice...
Nice...

I liked the old cover better, the new one looks childish with the new background. I like the big floating heads rather than seeing those two standing. I also like the font better in the old one that says "10th Anniversary Edition", instead of a big 10th in the middle of the screen with bubble letters. As someone said before, it doesn not feel collector-ish.

This is going to seem like a really fluffy post, but does anyone think that the new Toy Story cover resembles the design of an ice cream tub?
I don't know if you'll agree, but the bright blues and whites and stock character poses seem to really bounce off as things used to decorate kiddy dessert lables that tie in with the movie.

Well, I looked at the new one, and, oh, how do I put this? It................sucks? No that's not it. Hmm......oh, I've got it, sucks. It sucks.
I don't know what I don't like about it, but something about it just makes me hate it. I loved the old cover. That thing was awesome. I was looking so much forward to going to like, Wal*mart or something, getting the DVD with that cover, and just making laps around the store sporting it around and going "Yeah, that's mine." But the position of the characters mixed with the background mixed with that huge 10th anniversary thing just don't seem to work to me.

Now that you mention it, you're right. I did a search just to see if the actual ice cream from 1995 resembled the new DVD cover. I only found this, but it's close enough:Wonderlicious wrote:This is going to seem like a really fluffy post, but does anyone think that the new Toy Story cover resembles the design of an ice cream tub?![]()

NO!!!!! What is y'alls problem! The old aqrtwork came out and all you did was bash it! Most of the posts said how much they hated it. Apparently Disney heard our complaints about this certain cover, and did what they always do. Make it worse! I HATE the new cover! The old one looks so much better. We have been trying to get Disney away from the "kiddy" look, and the older art looked more collectible. This new one looks like crud! The grass is'nt always greener on the other side! Be happy with what you get, or else you'll end up getting something you dislike even more!
P.S. Did I mention that I hate the new cover! I was one of the few who liked the last cover!
