I still have yet to pick up this CD, and I'm getting really eager to hear it. I have been really busy the past couple days, but I plan to go to Best Buy tonight and pick it up. I can't wait to give it a listen.

After last night's horrendous performance of "Bye Bye" on American Idol, my expectations of the new Mariah Carey CD have just gone down about 100 points. She was dressed terribly, and she looked like she was leading an orchestra, and didn't use her voice to its full potential until the very end, and then it was very restrained.

I still think the best album she ever did was her first two. I don't think she will ever be that good again.

I will probably pass on this new CD, unless someone gets it for me as a birthday gift in a couple of months.

Personally, I think "Bye Bye" was a poor choice for a 2nd single. There are other tracks on the album that would have been better.

The video clip for Bye Bye will premiere on TRL, with her appearing on the show, on April 21st. The clip involves Nick Cannon apparently...

I still don't know how to use the quote button here but anyway.

MM1- I totally understand what you are saying. I guess that with MC I am willing to go anywhere she goes musically. That's the difference between us I guess.

Anyway I am loving the CD and am sad you're not feeling it. I for one like R&B so I can deal.

I hope the Madonna CD is everything you want it to be, and I hope it does well (I'm sure it will). Good luck, you must be excited!

I think the CD is leaps and bounds better than Emancipation, which I loved. My favorites are "Migrate", "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time", "For the Record", "Side Effects", and "Cruise Control".

Fantastic.

Hmmm, I haven't heard the record yet, but it's gotten a lot of bad press, my Sydny newspaper gave it 1 and 1/2 stars, out of 5, while they gave Jordin Sparks debut 2 and a 1/2, in the same issue.
They said it was formuliac, predictable, and too restrained.

I heard this a few days ago - but for some reason I still don't believe it - it seems like just tabloid gossip. Until I hear it from her mouth or someone that works for her - I won't believe it. I don't care if it comes from one of Nick's family members or not - I'll only believe it from her side or Nick himself.

Mimi and Nick Cannon's wedding pictures are in the new issue of People Magazine. Nick is smiling, because he just won the lottery. Sigh. Hopefully, Mimi will give People exclusive rights to her divorce pictures in a couple of months.

Mimi told the mag that she feels Nick is her "soulmate." Nick said, "I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me. She is beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside."

I'm not really a Mariah Carey fan, anymore, as I've stated before. However, when I see that picture of her on the cover of People, smiling as she is, she does truly look happy. As in a genuine happy. Not the fake happy smile that she puts on when she's trying to promote her music, all the while only caring about getting another #1. She TRULY looks happy, and she looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL when she's smiling the smile of true happiness. I wish them both well. I think it's terrible that people are always rushing to guess how long celebrities will be married. I say, if they truly are happy, we should be happy for them, and wish them well.

If it makes her happy - then great :)

I still love MC.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I'm thrilled for the two of them. MTVNews.com has an article/interview with them, and they just seem so happy. I hope that it will last and bring them happiness!

I'm loving E=MC^2. While still not on par with old school Mariah, it's as close to that as she's been in a long time. Like The Little Merman, I prefer this to Emancipation (though I haven't given that one a proper start-to-end listen). My favorite tracks are "Cruise Control", "OOC", "Touch My Body", "Lovin' You Long Time", "I Stay In Love", and "Love Story". Most of the songs have grown on me but I still can't stand "Migrate" -- what a terrible way to a kick off an album.

Anyone else disappointed with "Bye Bye"'s radio traction? It was an odd choice for a second single and the music video is horrible. I'd like to see Mariah take the #1s record, so hopefully "Bye Bye" sees a spike or "Love Story" comes along soon and hits #1.

I would like to take this time to show some major appreciation for Mariah Carey's two finest albums to date...at least in my opinion.

Image Image

Oddly enough, I only REALLY love about half of Butterfly, but my love for that half is fierce enough to make it my #2 favorite Mariah album behind Daydream. (The half I love includes the title track, Whenever You Call, The Roof, My All, Fourth Of July, and Honey, although I also enjoy Breakdown and Close My Eyes, but I don't have the major love for those that I have for the other six.) And I don't dislike the other songs I didn't mention either, but I only listen to them on occasion.

Daydream, however, I love every single track on it. It's one of those perfect albums I can listen to all the way through and not skip the first song. :D

I'd say I LOVE about 2/3 of the album. And I'd also say it's her best, or at least, my personal favorite.

It's allright, it was shot on location in Hawaii, and it has TI in it. Hopefully Love Story will be released next. :)

As if Madonna does care about anything else than selling albums and getting everyones attention...

I love Mariah Carey (her voice is amazing!) and I've got all her albums and several DVD's.
