Hook: Pan the Avenger has grown up and raised his own childern, Hook thirsts for revenge against Peter Pan by kidnappin his childern. Course there's one slight twist.......Not only has Peter Pan grown up, but he forgot everythin bout his childhood adventures in Never Land. Now he must rekindle his youthful spirit and rescue his childern from Hook's clutches.
I recall watchin this classic film endlessly when I was lil. Robin's portayal of Peter was creative, funny and entertaining. As for Mr. Hoffan's performance, he portayed Capt. Hook as a swave, resourceful yet malicous villain with a soft humor (I.E when he needs the red carpet to walk down the stairs) the appearence reminds me a tad bit (if not alot) of the Disney Capt. Hook.
Wish they gave a background story on Rufio, like how he came into bein the new "Pan". Highly recommend this film for anybody who's somewhat tired of the traditonal story of "Peter Pan"

i really like this movie too, i think they have done a great job with continuing the classic story of peter pan, what is really not easy. Normally it's hard to take classic tale and try to add a new story/chapter to it.Mason_Ireton wrote:Highly recommend this film for anybody who's somewhat tired of the traditonal story of "Peter Pan"

I rented from the library and just watched Something Wicked This Way Comes. I really enjoyed it. It was very suspenseful- in Leonard Maltin's book "The Disney Films", he suggests that the film isn't very surprising, that one will know what's coming, but I didn't feel that way at all. It was very exciting and dark (I do love some dark Disney, apparently), and I cringed a couple times and some of the things. The special effects were great. I wouldn't say that it's my favorite Disney film at all, but I'm glad I saw it and it was definitely exciting. Hopefully it will still be exciting the next time I see it.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - it was really good... Definitely more action-oriented than any of the three previous films and quite episodic, but the story brings it all together. There have been some changes made to some characters, but if you're not too nitpicky, you'll be able to enjoy it. The ending (which is amazing) is completely worth it all, and there are several hints at the upcoming X-Men movies. Oh, and there've been some talks about how it's not in continuity with previous movies, but trust me, it completely is. So all in all, I'd rate it third in the series, below X2 and X3, but above X1.

Wow, you're the first person I've come across that ranked X3 above X1.mooky_7_sa wrote:So all in all, I'd rate it third in the series, below X2 and X3, but above X1.
Anyway...
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - after "General Hospital" yesterday, we were flipping channels and Jane put it on FX, where LXG was already a half-hour in. She asked if it was on OnDemand, and I said, "I can just get it upstairs if you want." I had borrowed it from my cousin about 5 years ago, but never got around to watching it (and I asked him if he wanted it back, like a year ago, he said I could keep it). So we watched it. I've never read the graphic novel, so I had nothing to compare it to. I found it to be a pretty-good film with an interesting premise, but it just dragged on. Felt longer than the hour and fifty minutes, and for an action film, it had less action sequences than I expected. It's pure popcorn flick, though at the time, not popcorn enough. It would have been interesting if it did continue as a franchise, if only because there's a lot of potential for future stories.

Oh, didn't you know? I'm actually one of the 63 people in the whole world whose favorite X-movie is X3. Yeah, no kidding.Escapay wrote:Wow, you're the first person I've come across that ranked X3 above X1.mooky_7_sa wrote:So all in all, I'd rate it third in the series, below X2 and X3, but above X1.

I finally got round to watch Definitely, maybe and it really is a cute movie. Certainly not your everyday romcom and with a very nice and unique concept. Well acted, well written and absolutely unpredictable, something you don't often get in that genre and even the ending isn't romcom typical. Of course, he does get the girl, but there will always be the other two and I think in the end it's not so much about the lovestory (although all of them are really nice stories), but about how people grow and change, move on.

Observe and Report - Twisted, mean-spirited, downright disturbing in some parts.... I loved it. I can't say I'd recommend it to everyone, it's definitely one of those niche comedies, but if you're okay with brutal violence, "unconsented sex", constant profanity, an unlikable protaganist, poking fun at the over-medicated nature the USA has so freely adopted, and lots of scenes with a fat naked guy in a trenchcoat, give it a go. If any of these things turn you off, avoid it like the plague. For me, personally, I'd give it a B+, but like I said, this is not everyone's cup o' tea.

I don't know what I might have inhaled yesterday to write that, but Wolverine certainly isn't better than X1. Not by a mile. It's still a good movie though.mooky_7_sa wrote:X-Men Origins: Wolverine - it was really good... Just wanted to clear that out. It's been bugging me ever since I woke up this morning.
