I believe I read in one of the rumored storylines for this a long while back that Keani (sp?) killed Koda's mother when he was in human form, thus prompting the great spirits to turn him into a bear to teach him a lesson. Not sure, though.

Well if thats true then Koda doesn't know because on the disney brother bear site it says he needs Kenai's help to find his mother at this salmon thing. Ahhh that will be really sad (if true) when Kenai reveals he killed Koda's mom.
Dust? Anyone? No?

Well thats actually low in fat so you can eat as much of that as you like.

Oh, I hope that happens! And then Koda gets mad, but then eventually forgives.
But I really hope this movie follows more along the lines of Bambi than Lion King.

I think that Keani doesn't know he killed Koda's mother either until Koda tells him about his mom -- he knows he killed a bear, he doesn't know it was Koda's mom, and of course Koda doesn't know about Keani killing his mom, either. Keani probably doesn't tell him that he was a man, either.

I hope that somehow Koda finds out that Kenai was "lying" (sort of) to him, and he runs away. They get mad, but then one of them gets in trouble with Kenai's brother (he wants to kill the bear) and the other has to save him.
When this movie was first announced, the plot was that a bear had killed Kenai's father, and that he wanted to avenge his father's death. He did so by going out to kill that bear. The Great Spirits are angered by this, and turn him into a bear.
If they somehow work Koda's mother's death into this, it could be soooo good!
But again, I hope this works as a "companion" film to Bambi, rather than Lion King.
(companion meaning "in the tradition of"-you know, as in Mulan and Pocahontas, and Hercules and Emperor's New Groove)

New Brother Bear Commercial?
'Tarzan99' saw a new 15-second commercial for Brother Bear on The WB yesterday and describes it at the Animated-Movies.com Forum: it featured "a whole bunch of new, but very quick, shots from the film. The voice over went something like, 'In a place full of animals [various shots of goats, mammoths, rabbits, and a cool killer whale], the only human around is not a human anymore [shot of kenai being transformed].' And they had very cool music. A lot of eye candy in 15 seconds."
Track Listing for Brother Bear Soundtrack
'Court' found the full track listing of the 12-track CD, which will be released on October 21st. New Phil Collins song titles include "No Way Out" (the movie's theme), "Transformation", "Welcome" as well as the instrumental "Three Brothers", "Wakes As A Bear" and "Wilderness Of Danger And Beauty." In related news, another Brother Bear commercial reportedly aired a few days ago on ABC Saturday morning: "at the beginning, Rutt and Tuke are sitting down outside, and Rutt says to Tuke: 'Don't look now, but we're on T.V.!' Tuke of course turns his head to look, but his antler knocks the camera down so that all you can see now is Rutt's legs. Rutt then says, 'I told you not to look!' Then at the end of the preview it's the two moose brothers again, but this time they're against a white background, and Rutt says, 'Do you think the camera makes me look fat?' To which Tuke replies: 'No, I think your fat makes you look fat.'"

I hate how Phil Collins always (well, with Tarzan and now this) has to do his own version of the songs. Aren't the ones in the movie the "Phil Collins Versions"?Choco Bear wrote:alot of brother bear news today first offf heres a big pic of the cool soundtrack cover and ya i know i changed my mind about the poster i love it![]()

I'm also gald that Disney have started a mild ad campagine already, slowly and softly for the moment is the way to advertise this movie IMO.
It is strange that there are "Phil Collins versions" of the songs for this movie but ah well whatever makes him happy. I've really got a good feeling about this film.

I have to admit that I was strongly against this and Home on the Range, I just didn't like the premiss or the previews, and thought I might rent it, but now I am really getting excited and definately plan on seeing this atleast once, if for no other reason than to bust it's profits, I would like to this become the next highest grossing animated feature more than the Lion King or Finding Nemo, plus it might help show the disney suits that traditional hand drawn animation is not a dead artform. I would also like to see it win best animated picture!

I totally agree with you, at first Brother Bear didnt look that interesting. But now that the promotional campaign has started and all these great images and trailers are coming out i have to admit i'm getting really excited. And i too hope the movie will win an academy, to prove 2d isnt dead. because i refuse to believe its deadPrince Phillip wrote:I have to admit that I was strongly against this and Home on the Range, I just didn't like the premiss or the previews, and thought I might rent it, but now I am really getting excited and definately plan on seeing this atleast once, if for no other reason than to bust it's profits, I would like to this become the next highest grossing animated feature more than the Lion King or Finding Nemo, plus it might help show the disney suits that traditional hand drawn animation is not a dead artform.
