Am I the only one that feels she should have ending up like this?

That's the kind of people that drove me away from posting fanfic. I only became interested in Anastasia in 1999 not 1997 as that poster clains. Whati is there not to understand about the characterization proceess?

Well if you ask me, it does seem a bit obsessive to continually complain about the ending for several years, regardless if it's historically accurate or historically inaccurate or whatever the argument is for why it's a rubbish ending.

You gotta remember that the 1997 version is not intended to be the be-all end-all telling of the story, and that it's not intended to be the most accurate telling of the story either. No one ever said, "Okay, this is the definitive version of this story, and those before it and those after are only adaptations of this version." It's a movie that's only based on history, it's not trying to teach history. If people wanted a historical film about Anastasia, they'd rent a documentary, and even those aren't as accurate as they should be.

After getting banned from DS I hadn't really said or done anything about Anastasia till the two disc edition came out last year. How can anyone say I don't understand the writing or characterization process? what does that mean? They think I think its readl but I don't think its real. They think its wrong for me to write fanfic about her keeping crown and Dimitri. I feel they are trying to silence me.

When I was a little younger and I saw this movie, I felt a little cheated. But after seeing it again a few months ago, I really appreciated the ending. It was a bold move and I think it made the movie because it was different.

I just don't want people telling me how to run my site or write fanfic. Anastasia proabley could have been done without the love story. I don't want people possing as Dimitri trying to get me to stop. I gave up running polls cause of that and they never explained why they think I don't undertsand the writing or characterzation process. Who do they think they are?

Dude, what is your dish?
From what I gather, you're angry at the ending of Anastasia. Fine. What. Ev. Ver. You are entitled and fully supported by your fellow forum members to hold your own opinion. However, just because we disagree with you doesn't mean we hate your ideas. We support you for having your fanfictions.
Calling us morons is not cool. We have not been calling you any names. If no one is posting on your thread, it just means we have expressed all our related thoughts. Every new post by you on this thread is the same. Nothing has been different. We've all heard it before.Threads lose popularity...deal with it. We've all had threads that die away. We all live on.
Anastasia's ending is final. It's not changing. You are free to create your own worlds in fanfiction, but complaining to us isn't going to change the film. And if you feel some personal, supernatural connection with this story, again, that is your business. If you want to include us in it, please explain your thoughts/feelings better.
Thanks.
(Using coherent grammar wouldn't be the worst thing, either  )
:pan: Love It.

The ending just won't go away it makes me burn with anger inside now I fear it could lead to me getting banned I wish I could take a Death Star Superlaser to it. Why it bothers me so much and won't go away I don't know not to mention the stupid Obsession most people on IMDB have with the overrated Dimitri character aaaaaaregggggggghhhhhhhhh.

I'd suggest cyanide. It'd put us all out of our misery.

Good grief. Could we please lock this thread already?

We know you hate the ending. We get it! The movie was released 10 years ago, so your complaining isn't going to change it. Like Escapay said, the creator's never claimed that this was going to be the most accurate version of the real story, far from it. The majority of it is fictional, therefore, it's not real. Get over it and move on with your life...and perhaps to different threads.

Ah, Speaking of Anastasia...I've never seen it actually. But in my history class we were discussing World War 1 or something. And I guess someone said "Oh! So its like that Disney movie Anastasia!" and my teachers response was "Guys, I've never seen Anastasia, but you can't really trust Disney movies and their accuracy to history."

Now I've never seen it before either, but I know its not made by Disney...so while everyone thought Anastasia was a Disney movie. My head just wanted to explode. I almost went up and said "ANASTASIA IS NOT DISNEY!! IT WAS MADE BY 20TH CENTURY FOX!" but then Im like..."No Jeremiah...just let it go..."
