I envy your collection reyquila! It's very nice! Did you start collecting Disney DVDs as soon as they were released or did you have to buy some off of eBay?

Well heres a pic of my Disney animated classics, theres only 29 of them I need like 16 to go. SOrry for the bad picture quality its a cell phone camera. The rest of my dvds like pixar, ghibli and other random movies are in the living room, but I like these the most so they stay in my room lol.

First of all I said animated. Second, look closer pal and you'll see:

Animated Films:

James and the Giant Peach: Special Edition
Disney Learning Adventures - Mickey & The Beanstalk
Disney Learning Adventures - Mickey's Around the World in 80 Days
Recess: School's Out
Recess Christmas: Miracle on 3rd Street
Recess: All Growed Down
Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade
The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Stories
Stanley's Dinosaur Round-Up
The Proud Family Movie

They are in the photos my friend. Look closer...

Pixar:

Toy Story - single-disc release (2000): I borrowed this title to my sister and in fact I just ordered another use copy on gamestop.com for her to keep my copy.

As for the rest I own them in one version or another... I said release not version or edition. I have to note that you are the only one that made negative remarks while other congratulate me. I stand by the fact that I have (and watched) every animated Region 1 Disney release. Can you say that?

Apparently, I have caused a bigger impression in you that the impression you have caused in me. (or in other members with your photoless collection). Let it go man. Just stare at the photos, enjoy them!!!

I admit that I overlooked these:

James and the Giant Peach: Special Edition
Disney Learning Adventures - Mickey & The Beanstalk (labeled differently on the spine)
Disney Learning Adventures - Mickey's Around the World in 80 Days (ditto above)

But I still have yet to find these in your photos:

Recess: School's Out
Recess Christmas: Miracle on 3rd Street
Recess: All Growed Down
Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade
The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Stories
Stanley's Dinosaur Round-Up
The Proud Family Movie
reyquila wrote:As for the rest I own them in one version or another... I said release not version or edition.
Release is the same as edition. For someone who bought all three editions of The Emperor's New Groove or Tarzan, it would be hypocritical of them to say "I own every release" but won't bother getting the different releases for other films like the Pixar ones I pointed out. Bug's Life has had 5 different releases so far, and yet your pictures only show 3 of them. Toy Story has had 5 releases as well, and you already said one is lent, but one more is still absent.
reyquila wrote:I have to note that you are the only one that made negative remarks while other congratulate me.
It's not negativity, dearie. It's simple truth that you don't have all the releases. If I wanted to be negative, I'd have said "big f*cking deal, that's a waste of money".
reyquila wrote:I stand by the fact that I have (and watched) every animated Region 1 Disney release. Can you say that?
And goody for you. But why should I force myself to buy/watch Cinderella II just to prove I'm as big a Disney consumer as you? It's great to have money, it's greater to keep some of it for more important things. I know I'll get no enjoyment or satisfaction from buying Cinderella II, so I know I'll never have it in my collection. It does not make me any less a Disney fan as opposed to someone who will buy it. Someone could refuse to buy Fantasia because they didn't like it, but it doesn't make me the greater fan over them because I have it. When will you understand that a person's enjoyment of their collection isn't determined by quantity, but by quality?
reyquila wrote:Apparently, I have caused a bigger impression in you that the impression you have caused in me. (or in other members with your photoless collection).
Lordy, just get over yourself instead of thinking I'm jealous. Seriously, if I were jealous, I'd be like everyone else and say, "OMG, I'm so jealous of your collection!" If I don't have a DVD, I'm content with that until I own it. But I won't go around whining that I don't have a DVD to make someone that does feel better for having it.

And I've already stated my reasons for not posting a photo (anymore, though there are two posts of mine in the old thread that does have photos). I shouldn't have to prove myself to anyone for my collection. I've got an online list at dvdaf that's updated frequently, anyone's free to peruse that if they wish. It's divided into subfolders, so anything in the main Owned Folder has not yet been placed in its proper subfolder.
reyquila wrote:Let it go man. Just stare at the photos, enjoy them!!!
I've stared at them enough trying to see what's missing. And there's nothing for me to let go. It's not like I have a grudge or gripe that I have to let go. I applaud you for your investment in something you have great interest in. But I see no reason to stare at it with doe-like eyes and a drooling mouth. Seen one, seen them all.

Your collection is vast, but not vast enough to compete with ultimatefilmfan. Hopefully that will at least humble you enough to stop calling me and others "jealous" when we disagree with you after you accuse us of being mean/negative/not-Disney-fans.

Escapay

for those who do want to see actual pictures of the Disney section of my collection, simply check out this post for an out-of-date picture from November 2005
