I never did catch a 3D showing but I did have the pleasure of seeing the original theatrical release back when I was in high school. I was a bit obsessed with the movie but never got much merchandise other than a handful of books, the excellent soundtrack, a purse from Disneyland, and a big stuffed talking Jack with Zero. Unfortunately out of all that I only seem to have one of the books now. Oh, and of course I got the VHS and much much later, the first DVD release. :D I haven't gone for the blu-ray yet though since I don't have a player.

I remember one of my friends asked his mom for the laserdisc for Christmas the following year, and she got all annoyed because she could buy the VHS for less than $20 but the LD was at least $75.

Anyway, as many times as I've watch it I'd really love to see it in the theater again. :D

Speaking of soundtracks, "Nightmare Revisited" has some awesome cover songs!

Woah, I'd almost forgotten about that album! :o I never got around to buying but have heard some of the songs. I'm checking out the samples on Amazon right now though. :)
