Lol, all this talk about being embarrassed to buy Disney movies reminds me of a comic that I read once on 4chan I really wish I could find.
It was a small strip about a guy that was too embarrassed to buy a Coraline doll because of the funny looks he'd get at the check out.
He decides to buy it anyway, and at first the female cashier is friendly with him saying she loved Coraline too. The guy then feels relieved, says he's buying the doll because he's a big fan of the film, but then the cashier starts criticizing him that he's an grown man who shouldn't be buying a doll based on a cartoon. She goes on saying he should've at least given an excuse that he was buying it for his young niece and that people like him sicken her.
He then kills her out of rage. I lol'd.
But honestly, it's really not THAT big of a deal.
I know plenty of adults IRL who love Disney, especially my sister.
Yes she's married with two kids now, but she always was and still is, a huge collector of anything Pluto. Hell, her husband's favorite movie is The Lion King. At their wedding he even sang "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" :3 They also just got a new dog and named him Simba.
Whether it's Disney, or any animated film, no one really cares if you're buying it for yourself. If they do, it shouldn't be their business anyway and you'll probably never see that cashier again. I'm giving them my money, why should they care what I'm purchasing?
Last month, I bought a couple of Iron Man Nodnik bobbleheads from the Disney Store because they were on sale for 99 cents each. Yes one of them WAS for a nephew (because he's obsessed with Iron Man at the moment), but the other I bought for myself. I wasn't ashamed to admit that I was a big comic book fan, that I love to draw comics, and that I went to a school that specialized in graphic arts.
Anyway TL;DR, no one gives a shit what you buy for yourself.

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. - Walt Disney
As long as there's no endless news coverage, idiotic merchandise and people making a big fuss over a complete waste of time, I'm game.

Wait... what???
That's awesome!!! I thought the plot was going to be about some quick adventure, but seeing the wedding it's just perfect!!! =DDDD
And, this is a bit off topic, but I'm so excited too, because I'm going to meet the spanish voice of Rapunzel!!! =D (from Spain, not Latin America) Her brother was my teacher last year.
I will tell her about the short! =D

Oh and from the link:
I really hope Rapunzel and Tiana are in it!
So glad they're adding the Sleeping Beauty fairies to it!In fall 2012, Disney Junior will premiere Sofia the First, a new full length animated special and series pilot set in the storybook world of the classic Disney Princess characters. It introduces Sofia, a little girl with a commoner's background until her mom marries the King and suddenly she is royalty. With the help of the three familiar fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy — Flora, Fauna and Merryweather of Disney's classic "Sleeping Beauty" and, on occasion, classic Disney Princess characters including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White — Sofia learns that looking like a princess isn't all that hard but behaving like one must come from the heart.
